it's about mob locking his own thoughts, opinions, and emotions away for so long that he no longer knows who he is. it's about his emotions being something he no longer recognizes and views as something other than himself. it's about him seeing his emotions as inherently bad and harmful. it's about how he wiped away and sanitized himself in order to please others, in order to seemingly keep people safe. it's about how him denying his own feelings resulted not in better relationships, but in him struggling to connect with others and alienating people unintentionally. it's about him not even connecting to or recognizing himself anymore and struggling with his own sense of self and identity. it's about healing. it's about allowing yourself to feel. it's about sometimes being angry, or sad, or joyous, even in ugly ways. it's about understanding yourself. it's about others understanding you. it's about being you, the one and only.

i think mp100 final arc is the subversion of that one trope where the main character is corrupted and his friends and loved ones have to fight him in order to wake up the "real" him

bc mob's ???% isnt actually his corrupted version its just a part of himself that is concealed from everyone. and instead of everyone having to fight him, theyre actually reaching out so that they could save him from breaking down

all the characters involved in this arc have grown and changed thanks to mob's kindness. now it's their time to return the favor.

I love that mp100 is a story about self-acceptance and not self-love.

self-love is a loaded concept and it’s very, very hard and I’d dare even say impossible for most people to attain. and even if you attain it one day who’s to say it won’t be gone tomorrow? What does it mean to “love yourself”? I tried to “love myself” for many, many years and consistently failed not just to achieve it, but also to explain it. And even within “self-love” there were always parts of myself that I hated.

Self-acceptance is more neutral than that. Self-acceptance is “yeah, I do have parts of myself that I wish were different and that I might work to change. But I am this person and this person is me—and that’s okay. I don’t have to love it. I don’t have to hate it. If I love it that’s okay. If I hate it that’s okay. I can just be me, honest, and move forward in the ways that seem fit.”

It’s a more hopeful outlook on the self. It’s an attainable outlook on the self.

Self-acceptance lets us move forward.

ok 100% sadness right 100% sadness when shige fought teru wrecked the school etc 100% sadness was triggered by this thought that Shigeo “failed to conquer himself.” Because ???% (Kageyama Shigeo) took over and he lost control of “himself” (Mob).

But it was never about conquering himself. Because he couldn’t conquer “himself” it was never ABOUT that. His concept of “conquering” himself meant disregarding himself.

But the only way that he ends up conquering “”himself”” is by ACCEPTING himself.

“He failed to conquer himself” it’s not about conquering it’s about ACCEPTING it’s about GROWING i am losing my MIND-
