I’m both very excited and very intimated to design the main cities in devotion; they’re gatherings of a bunch of different mammals so it’s gotta be able to host many different home styles, this is less of a problem with the smaller towns as those ones would tend towards less diversity (I imagine the smaller towns are more animals that are localized to the specific biome they’re located in, while the cities are more populated by everyone as they’re both religious hubs and have more protection from possible predators (lots of witnesses, as well as big cities having more of a resolute presence (the small cities also have resolute bases but since they’re more spread out compared to the city it’s harder to protect the whole area). I’ve forgotten my original point but enjoy my random dump lmao

Reading a book abt foxes by an ecologist and uh. I accidentally gave Yarrow a horny tail

#foxes have a scent gland on their tail that causes the dark blotches abt 1/3 down the tail #these go a bit extra during mating season and make the bloches more visible #and uh #yarrows got a big brown spot on the base of his tail #also I think I’m gonna do design guides for a few animals that are relevant to the story #maybe just foxes but we’ll see #they’ve got a bunch of different cool variation
