Located in the northern province of Mazandaran, Miankaleh peninsula is a narrow but long peninsula located in the extreme south-eastern part of the Caspian Sea. The long and narrow peninsula is 48 kilometers long, and between 1.3 and 3.2 kilometers wide. It sets apart the Gorgan Bay from the Caspian Sea. Four villages namely Ashuradeh, Qezel-e shomali, Qezel-Mehdi and Qavasatl are situated on the peninsula. Bandar Torkaman is also situated at the opposite side of the peninsula's end. It is home to many unique Caspian birds and reptile species native to this region. The Miankaleh Wetland lies within the peninsula of the same name. The Miankaleh is a narrow peninsula and adjoins the Caspian Sea to the north, Gorgan Bay to the south, and Zaghmarz Wetland to the west. To the east of this peninsula is the island of Ashuradeh and runs into the Bandar Torkaman through a narrow strait that length is less than one kilometer. Attention: If you go to this area, do not carry any hunting or air gun with you. At the beginning of the wetland, there is a guard that will not let you get in with a gun. Saragah Lake, which is also written as "Three Ways", is in fact a small water intake that there are many similar examples in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces. The locals call this reservoir an earthen dam and it is known as Saragah Lake due to the presence of tourists and the welcome of travelers. Persian Art The art of Iran encompasses many disciplines, including architecture, stonemasonry, metalworking, weaving, pottery, painting, and calligraphy. Iranian works of art show a great variety in style, in different regions and periods. The art of the Medes remains obscure, but has been theoretically attributed to the Scythian style.
