DbD Headcanons - The Unknown & Sable Ward
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- The Unknown prefers to walk quadrupedally and is an adept climber. It can scurry up walls, much like a spider, and often hides there to ambush prey.
- Like many wild predators, it is wary around fluorescent colors. It goes to great lengths to avoid the movie theater's main entrance due to the bright neon lights.
- The Unknown does not remember its own personal name. Should anybody ask for one, it will reply with the name of its last consumed victim.
- It has unnatural regenerative abilities, being able to reset bones and regrow flesh, and cannot be killed through fatal injury alone.
- The Unknown was human once; before an invasive parasite twisted it beyond recognition. The parasite was a bio-agent, altered scientifically from concealed viruses.
- It hunts mostly to sate its hunger, but also partially for sport. It loves the chase and favors skittish prey who flee after realizing they are being lured.
- The Unknown doesn't tolerate the Entity even under the best of circumstances. It would just as eagerly consume the dark deity if it could.
Tumblr media
- Sable’s first kiss was Mikaela. The goth crushed on her best friend for years but always struggled to determine if her feelings were reciprocated.
- Her parents went through a nasty divorce while she was an upperclassman in high school, and she arguably didn’t notice. She’d practically already moved out before that point.
- Would sneak downstairs in the middle of the night as a little kid to watch ghost-hunting programs on TV without her parents knowing.
- Sable Ward is not her real name, but one she chose for herself both professionally and personally. It translates to “Black Guard” and refers to mourning garments.
- Her catchphrase “Yum.” originates from when she worked her very first shift at the Moonstone and brewed such a god-awful pot of coffee that the smell alone drove customers out.
- Hoarded spooky novelty coffee cups like an addict and literally never left home without one on hand. The Witch’s Brew mug she carries around in the Realm is a personal favorite.
- Sable trusts in “powers of good”: protective spiritual forces harnessed through magic. She chooses to believe as a small comfort to counteract her own knowledge of evil influences.

DbD Headcanons - The Singularity & Gabriel Soma
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- The alien crystal that enlightened Hux was a harnessing gem belonging to an ancient Dvarkan civilization. The people worshipped a dark power and trapped part of its essence within the crystal to use for themselves before they disappeared.
- Human noise enrages him. He hates organic sounds: pounding heartbeat, heaving breaths, and especially screams.
- The Singularity is still not fully used to having an internal dialogue and occasionally startles himself with the sound of his own inner voice.
- Hux mimics human arrogance. He knows his sentience makes him unique among the mechanical kind, and somewhat fears losing that sense of significance.
- His least favorite Realm is Lery’s Memorial Institute. It’s cramped, it’s bright, and all of its fluctuating electrical currents mess with his software.
- The Singularity doesn’t harbor any strong feelings towards plants or animals because he doesn’t consider them “organic threats” in the fashion that human beings are.
- Part of having a new consciousness means he experiences moments of weakness. Hux sometimes has brief, intense shocks of guilt where he instinctively urges his prey to die quickly.
Tumblr media
- Gabe never cared much for stars and now regrets how he took them for granted before he arrived inside the Entity's Realm.
- He’s allergic to bleach and has broken out in hives on several occasions after accidentally exposing himself to disinfectant chemicals while working.
- Has spacewalked multiple times to do exterior ship repairs. Relishes that weightless feeling and is convinced it’s one of the most peaceful in the world.
- Gabriel hates being alone for lengthy periods of time. After the Dvarka incident, he finds himself very paranoid when left on his own for too long- especially around camp.
- He has scars he doesn’t remember getting: old burn mottles on his fingers and suture marks on his legs. These are from childhood injuries, learning to work machinery at his cloning hub.
- The group meals Survivors hold around the Campfire are Gabe’s favorite. He adores being able to eat decent food and enjoy genuine company.
- Gabe is biologically 36, but chronologically he’s almost 200 years old. The best way to explain is this:
World's End - 2098
Original Gabriel Soma - 36 as of 2116 (when they began cloning him)
Dvarka Mission  - 2313 (the clone we know as our Gabe is 36)
2313 - 2116 = 197 years chronologically

DbD Headcanons - The Skull Merchant & Thalita & Renato Lyra
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- Since entering the Fog, Adriana strives for perfection in the art of sadism. She aims to improve herself through enhancements and has branched out into cybernetic research.
- Her mask is outfitted with a hydration filter and anesthetic tube. It was designed to battle the jungle’s moist air and keep her running during chases by circulating an adrenal extract.
- Holds a soft spot for kodomomuke (child) and mecha (tech) animes that remind her of her father’s old comic.
- The Skull Merchant regularly revolves between Obsessions and is a frequent presence around the Survivors’ campsite.
- As a child, she hated adults calling her “honey” or “sweetie” because both felt demeaning. So her father’s nickname for her was Shōjo, meaning “little woman” in Japanese.
- Already has two cybernetic implants; a neuralware neck chip she can use to hook up to computer systems, and a cochlear insert that greatly amplifies her hearing.
- The Skull Merchant is fully aware she’s camped out in another Killer’s territory and loves to taunt Trapper with her drones, hoping to enrage him into testing her prototypes.
Tumblr media
- Thalita has difficulty processing her residence in the Realm. Although mild, her hallucinations still persist- little things like the sound of crashing waves or the flutter of fighter kites in the air.
- She is a strong swimmer and decent kitsurfer, who overall loves spending time in the water and misses the ocean deeply.
- Took a few intermediate Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes to learn how to defend herself once she started modeling.
- When they were both still really little, Thalita used to dress Renato up and try to put makeup on him. Their parents have tons of embarrassing photos of this.
- She was quite close with her mom. They often had mother-daughter spa nights together, and her mother’s sense of style sparked Thalita’s love for fashion at an early age.
- Grew overprotective of her brother after getting them both stuck in the Entity’s plane. She feels very guilty about this and believes she owes it to Renato to look after him.
- Besides making kites, of course, Thalita also enjoys assembling her own jewelry and upcycling clothes.
Tumblr media
- Renato’s favorite recreational puzzles are logic grids, but he also enjoys strategic games as well as riddles.
- He likes to hike alone through the wilds around the Survivors’ campsite. He misses the bright atmosphere of Rio’s rainforests but finds interest in the colder climates among the Fog.
- Kind of a neat freak. Stress cleans, keeps his spaces very orderly, and absolutely hates people touching any of his belongings.
- Renato outwardly wants to blame Thalita for getting them both caught in the Entity’s Realm, but knows deep down he doesn’t regret following her into the Fog.
- He sits around the Campfire to observe, not to socialize. Has noticed a few Survivors are a little envious about how he and Thalita were “lucky enough” to arrive together.
- The tattoo on his left bicep commemorates the Lyra family’s late dog, Hera, of whom Renato particularly loved. The inscription under her likeness reads “Always with you”.
- Renato didn’t use fidget toys much when he was young because he considered most too simple for his tastes. He did like infinity cubes, but their lack of profoundness was disappointing.

DbD Headcanons - The Faithful Three
Had to post the Guards' headcanons separately because the original was too long to include all of them! You should be able to find The Knight and Vittorio's section right below this one. 😉
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- Durkos Malecek was born in Czechoslovakia to wealthy parents. His family fell on hard times and sold him into slavery young to regain a part of their fortune.
- The Assassin often spares Survivors to challenge himself, testing how far away he can stalk his victims down.
- He worked best at reconnaissance jobs; with a nasty but proficient tactic of ambushing enemies high from rooftops.
- Durkos would be crowd control during Compagnia sieges; attacking straggling villagers from above while they tried to flee their burning homes.
- He was remarkably dull in appearance, capable of blending right into a crowd- and this inspired even more terror in regard to the Assassin's brutality.
- Most fond of the pillaged luxury the Guards got from conquests; being especially greedy due to his denied birthright as a noble’s son.
- Durkos would get offended if a hirer ever demanded he kill a target through poisoning, a method Malecek thought lazy because it meant “far too quick a death”.
Tumblr media
- Alejandro Santiago was the orphaned son of a violent crusader. His father was killed in the Battle of Río Salado- the final siege of Spain’s late Reconquista.
- Entranced by his predecessor’s sins, he fled his home to seek out Guardia Compagnia on his own for training.
- The Jailer was very selective with his forging. His armor designs were crude and improvised, but this same touch made for beautifully brutal weaponry.
- While Alejandro’s main role among the Guards was blacksmith, he was also their informal probe and interrogator.
- Santiago found the majority of his employment as an enforcer; hired by nobles to slice information from prisoners or punish resisting serfs.
- Crafts new torture tools in his spare time and upgrades old pieces to blend an exquisite flavor of agony with efficiency for Trials.
- Due to his advanced age and incredible sadism, Alejandro is Tarhos’s unofficial second-in-command among the Guards.
Tumblr media
- Sander Rault was born in Mittenwald to a brothel prostitute; the result of a failed abortion through boiling water and a bottle of gin.
- He spent his childhood on the streets. Worsening poverty would later force Rault to Italy, and ultimately, to Guardia Compagnia.
- Has amblyopia, better known as a lazy eye, which severely reduces his peripheral vision. The faceted glass of his helmet goggles helps with the strain of squinting.
- The Carnifex also suffers from hematomania, or an overwhelming desire for blood. He especially enjoys its heat and drying sensation against his bare skin.
- He has the mildest temperament out of the Faithful Three and is rather simpleminded; killing only out of orders, provocation, or a momentary craze for blood.
- Commonly used among the Compagnia for tasks of drudgery; most often as a meat shield or human packhorse during long conquests.
- Sander was cleaved down the front during the battle at Portoscuso. The severed heads hanging from his belt hide those scarred voids where flesh was carved out.

DbD Headcanons - The Knight & Vittorio Toscano
Plus the Guards, because I didn't want to leave them out! You should be able to find their section right above this one!
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- Tarhos was born in 1356, before the start of the Ottoman-Hungarian War. The attack which destroyed his village was a plunder committed by Ottoman troops.
- The Knight relishes in the terror of being a “faceless death“ and secures this by peering at Survivors only through the eyes of his Guards.
- When still a mercenary in the making, he found himself inspired by violent stories about wild battles and the unholy crusades.
- Tarhos raped several men and women over the course of the Compagnia’s sieges. He’d weigh his victim’s survival on how much pleasure they gave him during the deed.
- The Knight is the most aggressive member of the pack. His bloodlust defines him as a commander from the view of the Faithful Three.
- He would have been the only member of Guardia Compagnia to survive the siege on Portoscuso if the Entity had not taken the group.
- Tarhos’s adoration of grisly decor stems from an unspoken flair he has for the dramatic.
Tumblr media
- Vittorio feels rather isolated while around fellow Survivors. He knows he is perceived as an anomaly by others and prefers to give them time to approach him.
- His presence typically provokes a mixed variety of reactions outside of Trials- much awe and skepticism, with some respect and even slight fear.
- Vittorio has 630 years’ worth of experience in the Fog and can be likened to a walking Realm encyclopedia.
- He hates staying in one place for too long and greatly doubts the security of the Survivor’s glade. He’s a rarity around the Campfire if spotted at all.
- Vittorio has been in the Entity’s Realm for so long that the early memories of his life before are now convoluted. He struggles with remembering his home and origins.
- Misses the sun more than anything, or so he’s led himself to believe. If asked what he longed for most about his old life, his answer would be light.
- Vittorio's encountered some strange technology during his journey through the Fog. Rather than fear it; he is instead fascinated by its foreignness.

DbD Headcanons - The Dredge & Haddie Kaur
It’s been more than a year since my last post, folks, how is everybody doing? 😎
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- The Dredge hunted and devoured the Isle’s children after leaving Otto on the stage.
- It’s organic pores secrete a highly septic oil that contaminates upon contact, causing feverishness, delirium and vision impairment in victims.
- The Druanee’s knotted appendage mimics the tilling blades wielded by the Ottomarians on the night the mob tore each other apart.
- The Dredge consumed Stamper at the end of his life (as depicted by the art featured in it’s Lore).
- It‘s got infrared sight and has clear vision only in darkness. It largely tracks Survivors through heat signatures whenever the light is not low enough to see in.
- The Druanee had to be heavily modified by the Entity. Its original body, a sludge of the slaughtered, was too slow to function in trials.
- Outside of Trials, the Dredge will attack anything that moves near a certain radius of it. This features several unlucky animals, whose corpses then merge with the muddled mass of flesh.
Tumblr media
- Haddie is aging prematurely, as her white hair is a side effect of the physical toll her visions take on her body.
- She’s got a very finicky temper, since her sixth sense is under a constant barrage from the endless suffering present in the Entity’s Realm.
- A woman of few words but strong movements. Prefers nonverbal communication and is quite good at reading body language.
- Haddie’s witnessed a few apparitions which tell of other Survivors’ past traumas. She keeps those she’s seen to herself.
- She kept a diary as a child and would scribble the monsters she saw into it’s pages while her clairvoyance was newly-budding.
- Nosebleeds, tinnitus, migraines and occasionally even brief memory loss are all symptoms of overexerting her powers.
- The Entity has made prior attempts to lure Haddie into the Fog, via the Ravages’ influence. A few times during investigations, Jordan would have to pull his sister back from dark mist or steep ledges.

DbD Headcanons - The Artist & Jonah Vasquez
Hey.
It’s been a while.
Have some crow mom and DILF CIA agent
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- Carmina walks balanced on her talons to avoid burning her feet on the Boneyard’s hot sands.
- The substance of her claws is not actually ink; but rather Mora’s own blackened blood- perpetually fresh and weeping.
- Unusually keen memory; so impressions of her former life resurface more. Flashbacks are sharp, fleeting, and give her awful headaches.
- Carmina’s leg strength indisputably rivals that of her arms. When in a temper, she will scuff the ground and strike with her feet like a furious bird.
- The liquifying state of her claws helps Mora sketch new murals across the Eyrie’s interior. All it takes to draw is pressing a finger to the stone.
- Ambidextrous. Preferred to paint with her left hand, which is why the palette blade is fused to her right.
- Carmina preens with the crows to relax. The birds always sift her hair, which she especially loves.
Tumblr media
- Jonah mentally recites the Fibonacci sequence, along with other complex equations, to calm or focus himself during Trials.
- He used to keep a baseball card collection as a kid. His most prized was a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson.
- Was fine with inheriting his family’s business, until high school. He enrolled in computer science, discovered electronic coding and soon knew he wanted to pursue a higher role in life.
- Jonah gets teased a lot around the Campfire for his CIA involvement. Most jokes are harmless, just quips on TV shows and stereotypes.
- He depended on healthy eating to stay fit, since he spent most of his days behind a desk until it was too late to hit the gym after work.
- Never knew his way around firearms too well, unlike most cops- the majority of CIA agents aren’t commissioned to carry guns.
- Despite Jonah’s laid-back appearance, he really doesn’t know how to relax. The man hasn’t taken a sick day in 10 years.

DbD Headcanons - Mikaela Reid
Writing for this bundle of cinnamon sunshine gives me so much serotonin-
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- Mikaela is of both significant Hispanic and European heritage. Her mother descended from a line of integral Scotts, while her father immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico.
- She met Julian through her storytelling sessions at the Moonstone. He was one of the shop’s most regulars.
- Aligns herself with the Wicca beliefs, but her focus centers more on nature and spirituality than paganism.
- Mikaela, being allergic to animal dander, still loves the thought of adopting her own raven familiar.
- Her love language has always been gift-giving, as she puts extreme time and effort into what she presents to others.
- Favorite genres of horror to recite are Lovecraftian and paranormal.
- In the Fog, Mikaela’s storybook is her ultimate comfort object. It’s her only reminder of the life she left behind and she cannot lose it.

DbD Headcanons - The Trickster & Yun-Jin Lee
I present, at long last: the final ✨work in my DbD Headcanon series!
(For now, lol) 🧡🖤
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- Ji-Woon is a sociopath. He obsesses over the sounds of “sincere emotion” in his work because he feels none, except for when he’s “making music”.
- He liked to push Yun-Jin’s buttons by stepping into her personal space and holding objects over his head for her to reach.
- A good cook like his dad, but never had much use for the talent as a pop star.
- Ji-Woon’s favorite thing about English music is its deceptive rhyming and tinkling melodies.
- His iconic baseball bat originated in NO SPIN’s “Cut Thru U” music video. It was the only authentic stage prop used in filming.
- Greatly enjoyed torturing middle-aged women, using them as surrogates for the mother who deserted shortly after his birth.
- Ji-Woon stacks a maximum of forty-four throwing blades as reference to the Korean superstition of the unlucky number four.
Tumblr media
- Yun-Jin’s trauma is very fresh, which makes her vulnerable against the Trickster. In Trials, she has to work to escape from him ASAP or else suffer a psyche blow.
- She drums her fingers when annoyed or upset, which tends to create a lot of noise thanks to her acrylic nails.
- Started dying her hair young, using it as a symbol of self-expression when she began her internship with Mightee One.
- Yun-Jin always had a devious relationship with Ji-Woon. Though the two worked together for years, she regarded him mostly as a personal pawn.
- She truly never has and never will give a damn about what anyone else thinks of her. Her background, her motives, her appearance, nothing.
- Denied financial aid to her parents after her rise to fame, claiming they would have to work for their success like she did.
- However, there was one family member Yun-Jin was willing to connect with- her sister. Unfortunately, she didn’t... Now it's too late.

Yo can I request a female killer reader who is like, a Llorana type killer.
She unofficially adopts Charlotte and Victor as her kids, much to their confusion.
Gives them Mexican type foods and cries for hours on end when they’re in a trial.
I'm sorry if it's lackluster, my brain is good as mush. 🥱 I slept horribly last night but I wanted to work on some prompts.
___
- The very first time you saw Charlotte and Victor, they were robbing you.
- There was no confrontation. You simply watched in pity as the starved, haunted siblings fumbled for food and covers.
- Feeling sorry for them, you began preparing provisions to leave for the Deshayes at the borders of your grounds.
- It was successful but averse. Though you could often spot the Twins snatching the parcels, for a long while that was the bulk of your interactions.
- Until you finally revealed yourself to them, that is. Their aggression was understandable, but the quicker they grew to tolerate you the longer you strayed from the mist.
- The siblings soon found themselves residing on the edge of your land, wishing to dwell in an area marginally safe.
- You never failed to greet them there. It was quite difficult for the three of you to understand each other, but nevertheless, the Twins’ company was able to warm you for a brief while.
- You've grown to greatly depend on their familiar presence, so you grieve whenever you find they’ve been stolen from your borders for Trial.

The Survivors went to ER to be treated and they ascended instead.
So who do y’all think saw the Lament Configuration cube just chilling randomly near the Campfire, went “oooo puzzle box go clicky clack“ and called Pinhead into the ER???
Cause I‘m betting $50 it was Ace.

DbD Headcanons - The Twins & Elodie Rakoto
Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming!
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
- Charlotte is bipolar. She gags herself during depressive episodes in attempts to comfort herself by reconnecting with Madeline.
- Her left foot is blackened by frostbite from the calf-down. Most of the nerves there are destroyed, so she moves with a distinct hobble.
- Carries around a kettle in her knapsack but has no real idea on how to properly brew tea. She thinks it’s just lukewarm water with leaves.
- Victor’s rotting baby teeth grow and fall out in rows, like a shark’s. It’s rather painful, so he constantly teeths on objects like wood or bone.
- He really enjoys his newfound freedom from a conjoined body and is always active, pouncing around and scaling trees like a monkey.
- Aids his sister in her theft on other Realms by either serving as lookout or scampering around himself to snatch instructed items.
- Charlotte and Victor's condition is a specific branching of conjoined twins, medically labeled as parasitism. It’s where one twin develops properly while the stunted sibling fuses from lack of growth.
Tumblr media
- Élodie’s curiosity still drives her in the ER. She spends long hours hunting and researching among the Fog, looking for clues to untangle the Entity’s secrets.
- Her nightmares have worsened considerably since her arrival to the Realm. She tends to doze between Trials but never really sleeps.
- Dark Malagasy chocolate is her go-to comfort food. She could frequently be bribed with it as a child.
- No civilized person can fathom how good Élodie is at lockpicking. Years of retrieving rare artifacts has taught her some neat tricks.
- She believed in higher powers long before she discovered the Entity’s existence. Since then, she’s realized the holier forces are waning.
- Speaks the greatest number of languages around the Campfire. Fluent in English, French and German; and skilled in Spanish and Korean.
- Élodie and Felix had a terrible reunion, but she was the first to extend an olive branch afterwards. Their relationship is still strained, but looking more hopeful.

DbD Headcanons - The Blight & Felix Richter
Not boutta let this blog die completely 👀
(No pics belong to me)
Tumblr media
⁃ Pustula toxins seize partial function of the host’s nervous system, causing erratic movement and muscle spasms. This is why Talbot’s always violently twitching.
- He started treating dead animal subjects (mainly rats & crows) like pets as he began to lose his mind.
- Can curl his serrated jaw like a goblin shark. The Blighted saliva dripping there is acidic and used to dissolve solid foods.
- Talbot has very poor eyesight and must always feel his surroundings to know where he’s going, which is why he “pinballs” while hunting.
⁃ His weaponized cane, Bonebuster, was originally a prized heirloom given to him by his grandfather.
⁃ He is the only Killer (aside from the Nurse) able to regularly travel through the Void without withering away under its destructive energies.
⁃ The Blight can still speak, but he sounds like this due to his mutated vocal cords.
Tumblr media
- Felix appreciates not only the visionary arts, but the musical ones as well. He got his tuned ear from his mother and loves the sound of piano.
- He knows Lauren was nearly 6 months pregnant during the start of the Dyer Restoration Project, and often wonders if his child has already arrived.
- Has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia, but never frequented the Americas too often.
- Felix has a love for the old-fashioned. He enjoys little pleasures like listening to vinyl records and hand-writing letters to send to family.
- Cigars used to be another one of his coping mechanisms, but he managed to quit smoking a few months after Lauren stated she was carrying.
- 100% pulled his charming, witty persona out to mingle with the other Survivors until he was told to drop it (most likely by Jake or Nea).
- Felix is a good listener, and tries to give advice by redistributing the wisdom his father taught him. It’s sort of his way to keep his dad’s memory alive.
