Chapter 5: Fourteen
“Will you be my girlfriend?” Vision asked. Wanda smiled as she said yes. Sometimes Vision wondered how he got so lucky to have Wanda Maximoff in his life. He loved her so much and here he was now asking her out to date him.
“I would love to,” Wanda said blushing.
“How about we go catch a movie than on Friday?” Vision asked. Wanda nodded. She felt her cheeks turning red and told him that she would be excited before she hurried off joining Pierto who nodded at Vision. Vision had told him what he was doing before hand and had asked permission from the other twin to date his sister. Now he just had to tell his parents. Which meant family dinner tonight was going to be interesting especially with uncle Rhodey in town for the wedding next weekend.
~
Everyone was passing the bowls and Tony was discussing plans for this weekend with Rhodey when Vision had enough suspense of holding off on this news.
“Dads, Mom, Uncle Rhodey,” Vision said. Everyone looked at him. “I have a girlfriend.” The whole table looked at each other.
“Aren’t you too young for a girlfriend?” Tony asked.
“Now Tony,” Bruce said.
“It’s just he is fourteen and I remember being fourteen and thinking too much with a certain part of my body,” Tony said.
“Your brain?” Rhodey asked. “You may have looked at magazines but I remember fourteen year old Tony getting nervous whenever anyone talked to him.”
“Look its pretty new,” Vision said.
“If you want to do things and experiment then you will need protection,” Tony continued. Pepper was trying not to laugh as Vision started to get red.
“Dad no,” Vision said. “Pierto would kill me if I slept with Wanda.”
“Wait, you’re dating Wanda?” Tony asked.
“Oh, Wanda is nice. She is very kind and her brother is a sweetheart as well,” Bruce said. “He helped with fixing the shed with me and Vision last week.”
“I didn’t know you had feelings for Wanda,” Tony said. “Well she is a nice girl and I know you will trea her right.”
“Yeah or Pierto would kick my ass,” Vision said.
“Language,” Pepper reminded Vision who apologized.
“What even is up with Wanda and Pierto? I don’t think I have seen their father much,” Tony asked.
“He is in and out of rehab. They normally stay with Professor Xavier when he is in rehab. He doesn’t treat them well though but they really don’t have anyone else. Their mom and stepdad are dead and they only have each other really,” Vision explained.
“Maybe we can have them over more,” Tony suggested.
“It would be nice to have Wanda around so I’m not completely overtaken by men in my house,” Pepper teased.
“Plus Pierto is always fun to talk to. He doesn’t like to admit he is smart but he can come up with some amusing things that actually work,” Bruce said.
“I’ll let them know,” Vision said. “Which reminds me I’m busy Friday.”
“Oh is a certain Maximoff and you going to have your first date,” Tony asked.
“Leave the kid alone, Tony,” Bruce said.
“Actually Pierto and I were going to hang,” Vision teased back. “Though if I dated Pierto I would have to break up with his sister and that would suck cause I really do like her a lot.” Tony and Bruce smiled at their kid. “Yes, Wanda and I have our first date. Though Pierto is tagging along to make sure there isn’t too much making out and defiling of his sister.”
“I think I need to check in on Pierto. We could team up to protect you and Wanda from defiling each other,” Tony suggested. Bruce and Pepper rolled their eyes as Rhodey shook his head.
“Your dads are proud of you,” Rhodey whispered when the conversation finally changed after focusing on his new relationship. “Also, I need to meet this Wanda and let her know she can come to me whenever she needs something. I got to take in Tony’s newest kids that he is going to end up adopting because one is marrying into the family.” Vision reminded Rhodey he was only fourteen but Rhodey knew the look he got when he said something about Wanda. He saw it when Tony talked about Pepper or Bruce talked about Nat, his on-and-off girlfriend of the last few years. Rhodey also knew his friend and Vision wasn’t going to be parting from Wanda and Pierto anytime soon which meant Tony was bound to adopt the two as his kids even if not official like his son that was sitting next to Rhodey. Vision didn’t know this as he enjoyed his family dinner as in the world the rest of his family were looking for a father that he had.

Chapter 1: Three
Vision was just playing in the park, like always on the day that his life changed. His mom had decided to take him to the park. Vis was just playing like he always did when his mom got distracted for a second. It only takes a second sometimes though. A second for everything in your life to change. For the teenager, to grab Vis away from his mom when she was not looking. Vis was just three at the time when Ultron found him. Ultron had lost his parents and now he and his gang of teens were all lost children who have lost parents so long ago. Now he grabs young boys to join his gang. The last five had been weak, but Vis seemed stronger than the rest. He had been watching his new recruit and after telling him he wanted to show him a new toy, the little boy followed him to his van where the other boys grabbed him. Vis tried crying out but he couldn’t. He was captured by them. The Ultron bots as they called themselves. Vis was trapped in the van being held down by three of them as he tried to escape. They wouldn’t let him go but he kept trying to escape until finally they stopped and Ultron just smiled.
“Take him to the cage.”
Vis didn’t know what the cage was but it didn’t sound fun. He tried fighting but the teens cared the toddler out to a warehouse. Once he was locked up the teens and other kids started celebrating the capture of their “new” gang member. A new bot that would join them. Except Vision didn’t think he would want to join this group. They were sad and miserable even if they pretended to be happy. They only saw a world of despair while Vis saw a future for himself. He would escape with time. Vis just had to wait until he had a moment. As the night went on the boys cheered and danced and played games. Vis watched them but then it happened. He saw one of the younger boys move away. Vis watched as he sat hidden from Ultron and the tears were falling from his eyes. Vis realized then that at this time that he wasn’t the only one missing his home. The difference though between him and this boy was the boy looked as if he gave up. That he had no hope that anyone would find him.
“You will become like that,” a voice said. It was one of the other bots who caught the boy. “We are like the lost boys. We can never go home and our families wouldn’t recognize us if we did go home.” Vis wasn’t going to become like that. His mom would recognize him when he escaped. “All hope is lost once you join the bots.” Vis wasn’t going to give up hope because giving up hope was the first mistake when going through life. He was going to be freed from these enemies that haunted him. He would be home before he knew it and then he would find his home and he would be reunited with his mother in no time.
“He is right,” another bot said smiling at Vis who just watched the group. He didn’t know what to do yet but he would get away.
“I will go home,” Vis told them and they still did not believe him. Vis would get home though. He would be free from the bots and Ultron and he would return to his mother in no time. He would have his freedom.
“You are home,” Ultron said joining them. “You are now one of my bots and you will be just like the other bots. You will honor our rules and honor our beliefs. You will take over the world with us and listen to no adults as we listen to no adults. We will never grow up. The world is our playground and our home is neverland and freedom for us.” Vis did not believe that as Ultron did. He knew that the world had rules that they must follow and that one day they would have to show Ultron that and the others. He would have to go against all their beliefs and show that he is better than the bots.
-
His initiation into the group was to steal a candy bar from a local gas station. They said that as a kid he didn’t need to pay for anything but Vis knew they were wrong. He had to pay for what he took. He had some money in his pocket and handed it to the cashier.
“Where is your Mom?” the cashier said. Vis shrugged his shoulders as Ultron showed up.
“Sorry about my little brother. He just wanted candy,” Ultron said.
“He paid for it so it’s fine,” the cashier said smiling at Vis. Vis signed some stuff but nothing the cashier didn’t know what he said. Vis wished he did but Ultron took Vis’s hand and thanked the cashier as he pulled Vis away. Once they were out of the gas station, Ultron looked at Vis with hatred in his eyes.
“You better not do another incident like that or I will have to take matters into my own hand and keep you locked up for days without treats,” Ultron told him. Vis just nodded but he felt triumph over having this small victory against Ultron even if Ultron was now upset about the incident. Ultron would never be able to figure him again. He would be able to defeat Ultron since Ultron feared him. He feared Vis and what he could do to the bots if someone ever found out there were a bunch of boys living without an adult. He had won finally against Ultron and shown that he could defeat the leader of the bots. It was enough for Vis for now and he would figure out what to do next. What more trouble he could cause for his enemies their worse nightmares of being caught by the cops.

Chapter 4: Twelve
Vision thought about the award that he had just got told about from his teachers. He had never gotten an academic award before. Well, he had but not like this. This was the presidential award because he had all As this year of school and he was leaving elementary and now he was getting an award for all his efforts. Vision was still trying to figure it out as he walked home from school that day. He was concerned about how his dads would react if he choose one over the other. He didn’t want to do that. Plus what about his mom. What would Pepper think if Bruce got the award? Would she even care? He knew she wasn’t his birth mom but she became a mom to him. She cared for him just like a son. Vision had to figure all this out before he got home.
“What’s on your mind?” Pietro asked. Pietro and Wanda were his friends since they started school. He loved to talk with them and they lived with their dad after their other parents passed and they found out their birth father was still out there.
“Just trying to figure out which dad to give my award to,” Vis said.
“Which dad do you live with?” Pietro asked.
“Dad, but I don’t want to make Papa mad for not getting to hold on to the award,” Vis said. Pietro seemed to try and figure out a way but he shrugged.
“Maybe tell them both at the same time and let them decide?” Pietro suggested.
“They are both supposed to be at the award ceremony so hopefully that will help. Why must this be so hard?” Bruce said.
“You have two amazing dads were as some of us only have one and that was forced to raise you,” Pietro said.
“Sorry I’m acting like my problems are more important,” Vis said.
“No, I shouldn’t be acting like it's such a bad thing. I just wish I had an amazing dad just like you do,” Pietro said.
“Well you can always borrow my dads sometimes,” Vis teased. Pietro wished he could as Wanda joined them and looked at Vis like he held the world. He smiled at her as he talked to Pietro about the award he got and what he was going to do now. Wanda didn’t say anything but she had an idea that could help her friend.
~
Vis waited as they called his name for the award. He got up and walked across the stage as his family cheered him on. He felt a smile on his face as he got his award. He headed back to his seat seeing his dads by each other smiling at him with the same exact smile. They were proud of him. He smiled back at them. He sat through the rest of the ceremony until he was back with his dads who both hugged him. Pepper even congratulated him. He saw Pietro wave to him as Wanda and he walked by.
“Mom can you hold onto my award for a second,” Vis said. Pepper nodded as Vis ran to his friends to see what was wrong.
“You both okay?” Vis asked.
“Yeah,” Pietro said. “We just didn’t want to interrupt your moment.”
“Pietro didn’t I was going to but he said not to,” Wanda said.
“Well, you both could have,” Vis said. “I would have enjoyed introducing my dads to my best friends.”
“Well I can’t say no to that,” Pietro said as he dragged the two over.
“Dads, Mom, these are my best friends, Wanda and Pietro,” Vis said. Bruce held out his hand and shook Pierto’s as Wanda smiled at them all and didn’t talk much. Wanda rarely talked preferring to watch what people did. She read people is what she explained.
“Well it’s always great to meet Vision’s friends,” Tony said. Tony grabbed Vision’s award.
“We were just talking about how we were going to place this in the bin full of Vis’s other awards that Bruce and I keep,” Tony said.
“Wait you have a shared bin for awards?” Vis asked.
“Of course we do,” Bruce said. “Why wouldn’t we keep your awards?”
“I meant you share my awards?” Vis said.
“Why not? We co-parent you. We have to share all the important moments,” Tony told him.
“Dads of the year,” Pietro said.
“Oh I’m sure your dad does similar stuff,” Pepper said.
“Nope,” Wanda said. “Actually we need to head and get a ride from Professor Xavier since he knows our dad.”
“Nice to meet you both,” Tony said as the two left.
“I didn’t know you shared my awards between the two of you,” Vis said once his friends were gone. He knew that he would have to explain the situation about his friends soon but better to wait.
“Why wouldn’t we want to share our son’s awards?” Bruce said. “We love you more than anything and you have been what has brought us together so we enjoy having you both bring us together to do so much for us and our family wouldn’t be together without you.” Vision smiled as he was pulled in a hug by his dads and mom. He had everything he needed and it was all right here holding him close.

Chapter 3: Eight
Vis was annoyed. His dad wasn’t listening to him. Three years of getting to know someone and you think they would be more open to understanding but his father was not happy with his decision.
“Look I know what I want and I don’t want to go on the trip,” Vis said.
“Vis, you can’t just change your mind,” Bruce said. “Todd is expecting you to go with him and Tyler on the camping trip. Tyler invited you over all his other friends because you two were so close.”
“I didn’t even want to go,” Vis said. Bruce was annoyed. His kid said he would go and now he was backing out. Todd wouldn’t want to hear this.
“Vis, you are going and that is final,” Bruce said. Vis grumbled and ran to his room slamming his door. Vis knew his dad would still make him go so he decided to run away. He grabbed his bag full of clothes and climbed out the window as he ran up the street a bit. He knew where Tony lived and that it was over a mile away. He never walked it before but he knew he could get there. He just had to hope his papa was home tonight and that Pepper wasn’t over. Tony and Pepper had been busy planning the wedding when they were together and they wouldn’t have time for Vis and his problem if they were both there. He just hoped he chooses a good day instead of a bad day for his other dad.
~
Tony was watching a movie by himself when he heard the doorbell. He looked up confused. Who would be at the door at this hour of the night? He went walking to the door when his cell phone rang. It was Bruce. Whoever was at the door could wait. Bruce never called him at this time.
“Bruce?” Tony asked surprised.
“Vision is gone,” Bruce said.
“What do you mean Vision is gone?” Tony said walking to the door as the bell rang again.
“He was mad about this trip that I am making him go on and now he ran away,” Bruce said.  Tony opened the door as Vis looked up at him.
“Bruce, I got to call you back, but I’ll start looking for him. Trust me I’ll let you know if he shows up here,” Tony said. Bruce thanked him as Tony looked at his kid.
“Papa, please don’t make me go home,” Vis said.
“Vision Banner-Stark, What the hell were you thinking?” Tony asked. “Your dad is worried and I am now lying to him because you think that it’s okay to run away from him.”
“He was making me go on a trip with someone who keeps teasing me and says I’m stupid,” Vis said. “He says I must be stupid cause I am unlike our classmates.” Tony saw Vision start to cry. The boy hadn’t cried since he moved in with Bruce. Bruce was concerned.
“Kid, why didn’t you tell us this kid was picking on you?” Tony asked.
“Cause Dad wanted me to be nice since he was his boss’s son and I figured if I told him he wouldn’t believe me,” Vis said. Tony let out a breath. Now he had to tell his kid that he was not in the right but also help him through this.
“Vis, I know you aren’t going to like me for saying this but you can’t run away just because of a fight,” Tony told him.
“Please don’t send me home!” Vis said. Tony told him to go lay down as he went to call Bruce back and let him know.
“I’ll be over in five,” Bruce said.
“Bruce may I suggest something,” Tony said.
“Tony don’t even think about it. He shouldn’t even have run away,” Bruce said.
“Take the night and cool down and talk to him tomorrow when you both are not upset and saying things you will regret,” Tony said. Bruce agreed as Tony told him, “Also, cancel the trip because I don’t think this kid is a good influence on our kid.” Bruce went to argue but stopped and seemed to say he would do that. He ended the call and went to check on his kid who was fast asleep. He was eight and yet the world didn’t seem to understand him as he was.
~
Vision woke up in his room at Tony’s house. He almost forgot about the night before. Then he remembered and hid under his blanket not ready to face his dads. He heard motion in the kitchen and he heard a voice that normally wasn’t here in the morning at Tony’s. He heard a knock on his bedroom door before the door opened. He closed his eyes as someone sat on his bed and played with his hair.
“I was so worried about you,” Bruce said. Vision didn’t want to hear this right now though. He wanted to be alone. Bruce left after a while and Tony seemed to slip in. He seemed to keep quiet as he sat down next to his son and stayed there quietly.
“I know you are awake, Bud,” Tony said. “You know you are in trouble but even if what you did is not appreciated by either of us, if you ever need to tell me something just know I will listen no matter what it's about. I love you kiddo and so does your dad.” Vis opened his eyes. He looked at his dads both in his room and looking at him.
“Ready for breakfast?” Bruce asked. Vis nodded.
“I’m sorry for running away,” Vis said.
“I should have talked to you about the situation and found out what was going on,” Bruce admitted. “I’m still learning to be a dad.”
“Oh trust me, we both are,” Tony said. Bruce pulled Vis into a hug as Tony watched.
“Well you getting in here,” Bruce asked. Tony joined the hug before remembering they had breakfast to eat and a kid that was hungry. Vis thought he was lucky to have two amazing dads.

Chapter 2: Five
By the time Vision was five, he had been with the bots for two years and he still hadn’t lost hope. It wasn’t until then that Ultron let him out again. Vis didn’t even know how old he was when Ultron tested him for the second time in his life. All he knew was he hadn’t lost hope as he went into the shop. He didn’t have any money and he was supposed to steal some chips. The cashier was a different one and he went up to them.
“I am looking for the chips,” Vis said with an adorable smile on his face. The cashier smiled and lead him to the back where he told the cashier they were being watched and that he was taken from his mom.
“There are others too,” Vis explained to her and the next thing he knew she was calling the cops as she lead him to the backroom to sit. Once the cops got there and Vis gave the location of the bots the cops sent a unit and took Vis to the station to figure out who he was and everything about his past and what Ultron did to not just him but the other children known as the bots. Once they found the bots and Ultron and brought them in, Vis watched them pass him as the cops asked him his name and where he was from. Vis told them and waited as they looked up his name and seemed to call a number but didn’t get anything. They kept calling numbers until they got someone who gave them some news about Vis’s mom. Vis waited to hear more but what he was told was not what he expected.
“Your mom passed away into the stars,” the officer said. Vis didn’t understand but the next thing he knew he was brought to another office that was looking for his father.
“Your mom left two names and we never looked since you were missing and they were never suspected in your disappearance since neither knew about your birth. We will call them and offer to do a test but for now, we are going to have to put you in the system,” she said. Vis just nodded not understanding. She was bad about dealing with children but she was good at finding parents. Helen would help him out when he got to the boy’s home. He just didn’t know her yet.
-
Helen was welcoming when Vis got to the house. She was open to how he was and was always nice to him. She made sure he was welcome and even made sure that he was treated like all the other boys there. Vis even made friends with Georgie who was six and was taken from his family. His brother was there too and he treated Vis like a brother as well. Vis liked it at the house and he enjoyed it a lot. As he was enjoying his life in a house that he cared for, Lily, the woman looking for his birth father, was meeting with the two possible fathers; Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. Both men seemed to sit there waiting to hear why they were called in. Lily smiled at them and explained the situation. Both agreed to the test but also wanted to meet with Vision. The kid was something neither of them wanted but neither of them wanted to abandon their kid to the system if Vision was theirs. Lily set up a time with Helen knowing she would be excited for Vis to meet his possible fathers. Even if Vis was enjoying life at the house, Helen wanted him to have his best chance and she knew that would be with his father. She set a date and explained to Vis, what is going on with his father. Vis was excited to meet his father. His mother always had said he was smart like Vis and he was a good man. She just didn’t ever name his father to Vis and Vis had theories about the man coming back to see him but he figured he never meets him. Now he was going to meet two men and one would be his father. Vis was excited when Helen told him and he started counting down the days until he meet his father.
-
To be honest, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner were both nervous to meet their potential son. Neither of them was expecting to have a child and here was Vis coming into their lives the two men were nervous they would mess up the kid. Both had daddy issues and they both were work focused so a kid wasn’t a good thing in either of their lives. They didn’t know what he was going to do but for now, they had to meet the kid.
Vis came into the room looking between the two. Vis knew he looked like his mother but he was curious if he had any features like his father. He didn’t notice any though. Vis introduced himself to the two men when he came in and they went to ask him questions but Vis got distracted by the crayons and paper. He started drawing and continued for a bit as he talked to him. He answered the question that made sense to him but sometimes they had to expand on explaining the question to him if it didn’t make sense to him. The two realized that Vis was very focused on his two drawings.
“What are you working on?” Tony asked.
“Pictures for you both,” Vis said. “As a thank you for meeting me. Mommy always said that people who do nice things for you deserve presents and thank yous. I like to draw and now that I’m not trapped with the bots, I can draw a lot.”
“The bots?” Bruce asked.
“I was kidnapped for two years. At least they told me it was two years,” Vis said. “It was a group of kids that called themselves the bots.” Tony and Bruce was surprised by this. No one told them about this situation or that Vis was dealing with two years when he wasn’t with his mother. Did he even see his mother before she died after he was kidnapped? Bruce and Tony wanted to ask Lily or Helen but right now they were spending time with Vis.
-
Tony and Bruce visited Vis when they could. Sometimes together, sometimes just one of them. Vis was a kid that they were becoming fond of and he was becoming fond of them. They explained his past and that he was in therapy because of it. He seemed well adjusted for everything he had been through. It wasn’t until the phone call telling them the results were in that they both meet up.
“I guess I can exit his life,” Tony said.
“Tony, I think that our kid needs you just as much as I need someone’s help in raising a kid,” Bruce told him. Tony stopped looking at Bruce and then looked out the window of the cafe where they meet.
“I’ll be there as a second father to him but you will have full custody because my job would never allow me to have full custody plus imagine me explaining to my girlfriend about all of this. Is it okay if I introduce him to Pepper or should I wait until we dated more than five years. Maybe once we are engaged. If we get engaged. I mean I want to cause I love her but she could always realize how irritating I am to be around,” Bruce laughed at Tony as he told him to introduce Pepper to Vis and that he would always be willing to sit down and explain the situation to Pepper. Tony nodded as he look back out the window as the rain started pouring. Vis didn’t like rain so hopefully, Bruce had his rain boots and coat.
“You’re a good dad and one day you will have a lot of kids. Hopefully, Pepper is ready for that. Tony agreed with that. He wanted more than one kid and one day he would have or adopt more kids but for now, he had Vis to worry about. Bruce knew now they just had to sit down with Vis and explain everything to the five-year-old.
~
Vis looked confused as Bruce explained the arrangement. Tony was with them as well which made it just as nice.
“You don’t have to call either of us dad unless you feel comfortable with it but just know we are both your dad’s even if only one of us is related to you. You’re our kid and that matters to us most of all,” Bruce said.
“So I can eventually call you dad and call Tony dad,” Vis said. Both nodded. Vis seemed to think about it. “Okay. I live with Bruce but Tony is also my dad and still gets visitation rights with I think that is fair for all of us.”
“I’m glad you think so too, Bud,” Tony said. Vis moved closer and hugged them both.

Preview of Vision's Story (I need to Name this Fic Still)
He never walked it before but he knew he could get there. He just had to hope his papa was home tonight and that Pepper wasn’t over. Tony and Pepper had been busy planning the wedding when they were together and they wouldn’t have time for Vis and his problem if they were both there.

What is a fun fact about the Vision storyline? - Anon
ANON!! MY NIGHTMARE OF A FRIEND!!!
Anyways one fun fact is when writing the notes for this story is that it will have some illusions to Peter Pan in the first chapter. I wanted to connect Vision's story to Peter Pan as a way to show him being lost in the world until someone finds him and shows him the right way. Also most people do the Peter Pan and Peter Parker connection and I didn't want that for this fic.

How many dads can one kid have? Literally that is the question I asked Anon recently when I was reading notes for Vision’s story.
