In Honor of House Pride Week I am starting off with a Rant about Gryffindor

When I was a little girl I longed to be a Gryffindor. I longed to be from the house of heros. I rigged the sorting hat quizzes to get those results, but I found that when I didn’t try I got Slytherin. So eventually I made a Pottermore account after I got an email address. I took the official test honestly coming to terms with the fact that I didn’t care if I was in the ‘hero’ house. I got Slytherin. It wasn't a sad moment but a one of pride. I had my new honest house confirmed. I was a Slytherin.

So yes this is all about why I hate Gryffindor, but I don't hate it because I am a Slytherin but because it makes other houses feel inferior. As a child it was a shock and a horror, was I an evil and dark person? Slytherins have done some horrible stuff and I won't ever deny it but in the words of Olivander “After all You know who did great things, terrible things, but great”. I was never an evil person even though I was always ambitious. Yes, I am kind but being kind has nothing to do with being Slytherin. However, My house and Hufflepuff house gets tons of hate and Ravenclaws are overlooked. Gryffindor is the aspiration and young kids ignore the side of them that dictates their house to say they are Gryffindor. In the end we need to remember to be proud of our houses and not try to be something we are not.
