favorite fics of march <3

as march comes to a close and i find myself so much more active in the fandom than i used to be, i couldn’t not share my monthly drarry faves (even though i doubt anyone will read this)! i have read so so many fics that i fell in love with this month (many more than are advisable given how little free time i have). no amount of kudos or comments can truly exhibit how much love i have for these works. i will try my best not to ramble too much about each of these fics… but who are we kidding, i definitely will☺️

Rush (For A Gap That Exists) by @sleepstxtic (E, 42k)

this is such a wonderful F1 AU — i was on the edge of my seat throughout the entirety of this fic and read it all within one day!! kat created such a beautiful love story in the midst of so much competition and pain and it was heartwrenchingly beautiful to read. truly, i fell so deep into her words that i felt like i was right there with draco and harry.

Baggage Claim by @greattemptation (M, 4k)

i cannot believe i only learned of gt’s existence two days ago!! all of her fics are breathtaking and all still sit with me in different, astounding ways. this one in particular had me reading and rereading every line to truly absorb the mastery of gt’s words. (also, gt is just one of the sweetest people i’ve ever interacted with!!) really, if you, probably-nonexistent reader, read anything from this list, it should be this!

this was a reread for me, but it needs to be said all the same — especially because i cannot emphasize enough how much i love this fic! this was one of the first fics i read when reentering the fandom, and it still remains one of my all-time favorites. the world built here is so wonderful and it makes me want to dive headfirst into it — star is such a gem and such a captivating writer!

Now I Wake Up In The Night and Watch You Breathe by @hoko-onchi-writes (E, 24k)

this is THE dead dove fic!!! the suspense?? the inner turmoil?? the ring???? i had to sit in silence for ten full minutes after reading this fic just to reflect on what a mindfuck this was. the dual POV makes this so delightfully creepy and it is truly the horniest horror i’ve ever read! gotta love a gruesome happy ending <3

Our Objective Remains Unchanged by @citrusses (E, 46k)

this rowing AU broke my heart and put it back together multiple times in the best way possible. i used to not be one for non-magical AUs, but this absolutely changed my opinion! the way rowers push themselves to the absolute brink felt like the perfect place to showcase the competition and passion between draco and harry. i felt completely sucked into their world — citrusses’ writing is truly so vivid and full of life!

i’m unsure as to how i’ve never read this before but! this fic did make me lightly cry for almost the entire time i was reading it. yet another example of a devastating dual POV filled with (at the beginning) many misunderstandings and (at the end) such beautiful warmth. this fic feels like a comfort blanket in how it deals with grief.

this is just!! oh my god!!! kriss’ work always blows me away, but this truly rocked my world. immediately upon discovering this i played through the entire game in one sitting while still in bed because i just had to see how it ended! the sweet storyline mixed with her beautiful art is truly a masterpiece.
