Take Me With You by Andrea Gibson

This book was a really quick read but nonetheless, highly enjoyable, It is poetry about being queer and trans, loving women as a non-binary person, and learning to love yourself as you are. I'm not super sure how Andrea identifies, but their work about being transgender and dealing with family stuff was very relatable to me as a transgender man. This book was very heartfelt, please read if you have the chance.

Space Boy by Stephen McCranie

This series isn't queer so apologies if that's what you're here for. At least not as far as I've seen yet.

I've only read Volumes 1-3 so far and they've been really cute. It's an adorable series that I definitely think is meant more for younger teens/tweens, but if you want something chill and sweet, this is definitely worth a read.

We follow Amy, who is from a mining planet, as her dad loses his job and she has to be frozen for 30 years to travel to Earth. We watch as she adjusts to Earth's culture and gets to know our character of interest, Oliver. Oh, and Amy has synesthesia. People have flavors to her.

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman

I know it's been a while since my last review, I got really into some dystopia from the early 2000s and didn't think you guys would want reviews on stuff like The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner.

This is my review of volumes 1-4.

TW: Mentions of SH and EDs.

I want to start by saying I really loved this series but it started making me sad towards the end. This review will also contain spoilers so if you're not looking for that, please keep scrolling.

The first two books made me smile a lot, they were very sweet and wholesome, with the exception of the stuff between Ben and Charlie. When I started noticing hints of Charlie having an eating disorder when the group was in Paris, I admittedly was starting to become a bit turned off by the series.

By Volume 4 we are thrown completely into Charlie being in recovery, which is fantastic, I feel like a lot of stories involving eating disorders don't show recovery, I just am not much of a fan of self-harm in stories with queer characters, especially stories I thought would be sweet and lighthearted. All in all, Nick is an amazing boyfriend through it all and they're perfect. I love the relationship between Elle and Tao and the same with the two teachers. I highly recommend this series just please take care of yourself when reading about the self-harm stuff.
