Send 💢 for my muse to crawl in bed with yours after a nightmare
The golden-maned newcomers made him uneasy.
Some of them meant DANGER. He didn’t know how or when, but they meant anything but GOOD for Robb’s family. But… they had brought pups with them. Children, children that he was usually kept from. Most of them had the look of the dangerous ones, but there was one who did not.
She seemed …. different.
PERHAPS that is what had drawn him to her side when he had dreamt of terrible things. The uneasiness had triggered something within him – when he had slept images of d e a t h & BATTLE & fear danced before his eyes.
He didn’t dully understand his desire to find comfort in her, but there he was. He’d found her room with his nose, nudging a cracked door open the rest of the way before padding to her bed. The not quite grown direwolf crawls onto her bed, taking little time to curl up at her side.

He lays a few coins down,
trying not to show how much
he hates the metallic sound of
them clanking together.

Ygritte woke up when the sun hit her face. She was surprised the direwolf was still here. Did she smell like Ghost and that’s why it had stayed? She wasn’t sure. People were already up and moving. Ygritte was just stayed still for a while. She didn’t know what she was doing.
Things had been rough since Jon Snow had left. She felt as if she was constantly proving herself to everyone now. She had brought Jon Snow and he had betrayed them. She didn’t care about that. No, she was upset because he had betrayed her. She ignored the wolf and began to pack her things up. She didn’t know where she was going but she didn’t feel like following the king beyond the wall anymore.
She walked the opposite direction that everyone was else was headed. She had no idea where she was going but it had to be better than here.
There was a tinge of recognition in her scent. Something from long ago, before
he knew what it was like to snap a man’s bone’s between his massive jaws.
back when he still ran free, free without the ever-present danger of battle or
the looming emptiness of Robb’s death. He couldn’t place it, but he knew he
knew it.
Most of the people went one way... while she did the other. He had lingered
while she packed her things, watching her closely as he padded around the
area she had been in. He didn’t investigate anything, lacking the motivation to
do so.
When she left, he followed. He didn’t understand why he wanted to -- to be
alone for a two legs here was to be dead ... But he didn’t have much reason
to do anything else, & the scent of her reminded him of something... better.
He weaves in & out of the treeline. Sometimes he sifts out of sight, but he
doesn’t leave her for long. Sometimes he draws near, but never quite walks
at her side. Sometimes he trails behind, or races ahead, but never draws too far.

@mostloyalcassel liked for a human Grey Wind thing !!!
vaguely familiar.
She was a face he’d seen before -- years ago, when everything
was well & he was a BEAST at Robb’s side . it was strange & it
made his stoach turn... He couldn’t remember, but he knew that he’d
seen her before.
“ Do I... Do I know you?”

GOLDEN HAIR was something that would always remind the former
beast of the lion-men that he’d used to tear through. He knew it was
not the same now -- this was no metal-clad man trying to slay the man
he would have called brother.
“ Who are you?”
perhaps not the most FORMAL of greetings, but all he was willing to offer.

“I don’t think you’re supposed to be here. “
His words are firm -- perhaps they’d have been fierce if he’d
viewed her as a threat. He wasn’t quite sure why a lady would
be drawing so close to campy but... he wasn’t exactly willing to
find out, either.

“let’s run away together.”
“may i have this dance?”
“you were my dream.”
“you’re the one i’ve been looking for.”
“i love you but you’re not mine.”
“when did you last let your heart decide?”
“stop kissing frogs, when i’m standing right here.”
“when was the last time you did something for yourself?”
“you’re a prince/princess and i’m nearly invisible.”

Grey Wind KNEW he’d never be fine again. He’d never quite be whole,
he’d never be the same as what he once was, nor could he ever dream
that he would be.
He was glad when she did not attack, knowing full well that beast & man
did not often mix well. The woman was much unlike the ones of the south,
clad in furs rather than silks ... She didn’t seem to fear him, or care enough
too. He was tired & part of the fear from before lingered ... & so he stayed
by her side.
Over the night, he picked up on something -- he wasn’t sure what, but
the furry woman didn’t seem alright. So he didn’t quite leave when he
had regathered himself. He didn’t think it right --- she’d allowed him to
stay, why should he leave her there?
continued from here @thefastestx
Ygritte had had a rough day. She wondered if she’d ever truely be fine again anytime soon. She felt something snuggle up to her. She was confused by it, as Jon Snow was gone and no one else would dare to do that. She opened her eyes to see a large wolf curled up next to her. It was a direwolf, not Ghost though.
Had a wild direwolf just decided that she was warm? She closed her eyes and waited for morning to come.

Send 💢 for my muse to crawl in bed with yours after a nightmare
That night would never leave him.
He wouldn’t forget it– everything had gone so fast.
A link had been severed. A life had been ended — perhaps two lives, for Grey Wind could find little purpose in life without the two-legged creature he had thought a part of him since his earliest memories.
He’d come so far. He’d tried to forget. The massive beast had tried to rest, though he knew it would not happen… he’d woken in a fit of memories. Howling & running & wishing for anything to fill the void Robbhad left when he died —
He’d found one of the two-legs. A female, maybe she was asleep. He ought not have approached her — most of her kind didn’t take too likely to him…
But by the gods of men, he was scared & lonely & wanted some form of comfort. He was an animal, but so much more. He approaches the stranger, lacking his usual caution …. He then proceeds to crawl up beside her.
He cared little of who she may be or where she came from – his care was lost in the memories lingering from the awful, awful dreams of the past.
