Tips to make your bowl last longer
Anyone smoke their bowls so hard that it only last for 20-30 min tops? Or maybe some of you make a bowl and it barely lets out a cloud of smoke. There are ways to prevent this, and we’re here to tell you how.
1. Don’t overpack your bowl: If you have a small bowl, you should only put in about 4-6 grams in. If your bowl is medium sized, it should have 8-9 grams, and if it is large, it’ll do best with 12-15 grams. The size of the bowl isn’t everything, though. Packing your bowl tight can reduce the flow of smoke, causing it to barely make that perfect cloud of smoke you’re looking for. Instead of smashing the shisha into your bowl and packing it in tight, try sprinkling it into your bowl.
2. Shiny side down: When placing foil on top of the bowl, always put the shiny side facing the shisha, and poke the holes on the matte side. We have no idea why it works better, but it does so trust us on this.
3. Number of coals: If you’re using square or cube coals that need a burner, we suggest you use only two, and switch one out for a new one when they begin to get smaller. If you keep replacing them with two brand new coals, it will overheat your bowl fast. If you use the quick start coals that you use a lighter to light, use one if it is a large coal, and two if they are small. Also, when using coals. try putting them on the edges of the bowl instead of smack dab in the middle. This will also prevent burning the shisha too fast.
4. Ice ice baby: In our experience, if you want a smooth chill smoke, put ice in the base. It should take up half of the amount for water you use in the base for your hookah.
5. Blow it: "Excuse me?" No really, you need to bowl your bowl. When it starts to taste like it’s getting burnt, take the bowl off the hookah and blow out the smoke from the bottom of the bowl. Don’t blow too hard, though, or else your foil could come off and that’s a big mess.
Hope these tips helped! Send your questions about hookah maintenance to us and we’ll guide you through it as best as we can! :)

Tame Your Tea Tea Storage
My tea storage is organized by type. Each box is a brand of tea. The Walkers short bread tin and the white shoe box hold my Adagio teas, including all of my Harry Potter Marauders signature fandom blends. The blue box on top with the Arthurian Legend books holds a one person teapot. The tins to the side are stray teas I’ve picked up at different stores. Up on the top are my bagged teas, though I don’t have many of those. Then on the bottom, I have a few cups and my matcha whisk.

May you pick up your tea when it’s exactly the right temperature, and may you happen to glance out the window when the light is just how you like it.
