imperial guard probably. I very much like that they're a faction, and I like what they add to the setting, but at the same time, if you're playing the fantasy sci fi war game, why would you pick the normal ass WWII faction??
what’s your least favorite warhammer faction. 40k or any

got some paint on my spacemen and I think they're already looking pretty promising! I still have a lot of detail and clean up stuff, plus it came with Soviet and USA decals I wanna apply, but I like them right now. I'll probably base them next just so they look somewhat done though

Happy Neil Banging out the Tunes day to all who celebrate!
I’ve gotten into resin printing and mini painting recently so I had to print out the little Neil model I made last year in honor of my favorite holiday

played a test game of Lunar today with some Killteam models today since my order was delayed (I'm blaming the holdup on eclipse traffic). today's game took place on a map I'm dubbing the жеода 13 mining facility.
i led the brave men and women of the Soviet space program (the votann kin) as they defended against a squad of invading nasa scientists (the Navy breachers). the game ultimately ended in a stalemate with both sides mining equal resources, and not a single life being lost, but the battle was still hard fought by both sides.y first impressions are that Lunar is a really cool game, and I really like their attempts at simulating low gravity combat. blasting someone with your shotgun only to have them go flying into a teammate, causing them both to drop their weapons and fall to the ground feels awesome. alternatively, getting pushed off a raised platform and going from full health to zero is quite scary, and individual units have a lot of actions they can do per turn to make those things a reality
I know the pictures and the models and tokens make it just look like a game of kill team, but when I have the actual game components hopefully it'll look a bit more distinct. either way, Lunar is a real fun game in my book, and I can't wait to play again. the focus on mass and gravity, and blunt vs piercing damage really make it stand out, and using true line of site rules make terrain pretty no hassle.

i saw this game the past 2 years at adepticon and decided to order it after going this year. it supposed to be delivered tonight, which is funny to me consider the celestial events happening today. anyways I can't wait to play, so I tried to set up a lunar base battlefield in anticipation, and I think it looks pretty convincing, barring the Votann and imperium breachers being stand ins for astronauts.
this is a mix of some necromunda terrain, a tatooine inspired building set my friend printed me years ago, and an official piece of lunar terrain, the half buried capsule in the top right of the first picture. I have a few other pieces of lunar terrain to print, but my printer is acting up again, so once I get it fixed I'll get the other stuff printed. I hope I'm able to get a game in this week, and of course I'll be posting about it if I do

a 6 round game of star wars armada. I was commanding a rebel grab bag flying 3 new ships, the mc80, the rebel version of the providence class, and my beloved little mc30, plus admiral akbar on the corvette. I managed to secure a narrow victory against a 6 ship Republic list (those little councilor class ships can pack a punch, especially when there's 3 of them flying around). we also used some of my recently 3d printed obstacles, we had one astroid field and one debris field, and I'll hopefully have a completed set soon
my mc30 was just as amazing as I thought it would be, even if I mispiloted a little. I deployed a little too close, so I had to swing the mc30 wide to the right turn 1 to avoid a collision. I would've wanted it to get to the action sooner and get some better shots in, but having it go wide actually won me the game. I managed to pick off a few small ships early on, but my providence went down turn 3 before getting to activate, and the mc80 went down a few turns later, but it managed to tear into both the victory and acclimator while it was still space worthy. on the last turn, the mc30 swooped behind the acclimator and victory, getting two beautiful close range shots into both of them, taking them both down before evading a hail of fire from the enemy flagship pelta. in the end, had the mc30 had one hull point left, exhausting the last of its defenses to barely hang on, but hang on it did. anakin was no match for akbar, but he put up a good fight. mc30 was definitely the MVP, I want two more of them.
