➳ author's note: hello! i recently re-watched the first hunger games film (and reread the first book of the trilogy) and i figured it would be a really cool idea to write a fic/series loosely based on the hunger games (and the pixie hollow games, if you squint.) i have not read the rest of the trilogy or the newest book, nor have i seen the other films, therefore this series is solely based on book/film 1 and the lore given there. i've tweaked some things to make it fit a bit more for the idea i had going, and of course none of this represents the hunger games, suzanne collins, or any of the idols depicted in any way. that being said, if you don't like it, don't read it! i hope you all enjoy what comes, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

i was JUST talking about this, actually. well said, nat!

some of y’all forget that these idols are human beings. they work hard to achieve their goals just like anybody else, being in the spotlight does not mean that they’re just show ponies. there is actual blood, sweat, tears and YEARS of dedication behind their passion.

enhypen is still a relatively new group, and they deserve to receive the praise they DESERVE for their work. yes, they’re a very visual group — but that does not take away from their passion and talent as artists. their stage presence is fucking IMMACULATE, are you joking? how can you gloss over that just because you want to mention how ‘hot’ they are? for the love of god, get a grip!

learn to indulge in the little things, and touch some grass. even as a writer, i know that what i read, what i write and what i consume is not representative of them entirely, nor does it make me closer to these idols in any way. it also doesn’t mean that i’d ever truly envision them in these scenarios.

they are human beings who happen to be in the spotlight. it doesn’t give you the right to their privacy, their personal space, their lives outside of their work.

be respectful, have the day you deserve.

i didn't want to bring this up on my page because i didn't want the negativity to affect my readers who are just here to have a good time. but awareness needs to be spread.

admist the chaos of sasaengs not knowing how to respect enhypen's space, i would like to reiterate that enhypen is not my, yours, or anybody's plaything. the audacity of some fans to think that sitting beside them on the plane, or calling them repeatedly over and over again at 2am will magically make them fall in love with you is crazy. get a grip. the boys are already enduring so so so much, heck we all know they have nothing but genuine love and respect for their fans. the least we can do as fans is to respect their basic human rights.

Listen to your gut/heart. Stop ignoring the warning signs because you think you can change someone. News flash, you cannot change them!

Save money! Put money aside whenever you can. An emergency fund is a must!

Learn to enjoy being your best friend. There is a peace like no other when you are able to enjoy your solitude. You don’t have to be alone all the time but when you are, you shouldn’t hate it.

Read the fucking room! Don’t invite yourself to places that people don’t want you. If you’re on the phone with a friend and they are talking about going out with so and so, don’t ask to tag along.

Go to therapy!! There is nothing wrong with getting help. Some battles cannot be won alone.

“Love” isn’t a reason to stay in a toxic relationship. It will slowly turn into resentment and anger.

Talk to your partner about children. Make sure you are on the same page about everything. If you want them or not. How many. Parenting styles…it is all very important to know before hand. Shit like this will ruin a relationship later on down the line.

Be open minded. The world is always changing and what you know isn’t always correct. Adapt and evolve, that is the best thing you can ever do.

Don’t ever put someone before yourself. At the end of the day, all you have is you. Look out for your best interest ‘cause nine times out of ten the other person will fuck you over (speaking from experience)

And if I got the chance to meet my younger self, I would tell her to listen to our mother. Don’t hold any hate against her…she has been through a lot and isn’t looking out for us. I would also tell my younger self to be more open about our feelings. Don’t hold them in and voice whatever is bothering us. Having feelings isn’t wrong and it is our parent’s jobs to protect us. We don’t have to be strong at such a young age.

I would lastly tell my younger self to leave my ex the fuck alone! Don’t even look at him in school. Pretend he doesn’t exist and keep it pushing. He is nothing but trouble 😒

So, yeah that’s my list. Listen to me or not. But this is what I wish I knew when I was younger. My life most likely wouldn’t be the shit show that it is now 😓😐

writers on this platform do not owe you anything. it comes without saying, and despite that, i find myself surrounded by writers who have lost their passion due to the insane amount of pressure and demands from readers. we do this for free.

this is also a distraction from our own lives. most, if not all of my fics, are personal experiences i'm drowning in and it's the only way i can get it out. the reiteration on 'if you don't like it, don't read it' is heavy.

that being said, if you can't find something you want to read in particular -- who are you to demand it from a writer on a platform? you want to read something so bad, you write it! google docs is free, shit, you can even create a post right here on tumblr and spew your ideas!! nobody is going to judge you for writing what you want to read, just like you shouldn't feel the need to demand it from another writer.

please, please take into consideration that we are human. and if we can write, so can you. everyone is writing their own story, it's up to you if you want to venture on some side quests to make yours more interesting!!

The TikTok-fication of Tumblr and why it needs to stop before your fave writers are gone for good:

1. “Part 2??”

Unlike TikTok, writing 5,000 words for a fic does not happen in 6 seconds or more. Weekly updates are from a writer who spoils you and is passionate about their story. Don’t kill the passion by demanding for more and not appreciate what’s already given.

2. The DC Conundrum

Many writers on this platform hail back from the ff.net days where dark content is a norm, not like TikTok where even death has to be censored or you could get flagged.

Despite that, writers are doing you a service by sharing fic warnings despite how it may take away from a plot twist or a big reveal. However, there’s a fine line between sharing warnings and downright spoiling our own work. Heed the warnings, don’t be a dick. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Learn how to filter your own content, too, while you're at it.

3. The Wild Algorithm

Unlike TikTok, Tumblr’s FYP is not in your face and you have a choice to not view it. Content often gets buried a few days after it’s posted without reblogs or comments to keep it alive.

4. Passive Content Consumption

Ties back with point #1. If you’re only sitting back and reading works without supporting the writers, they can’t spend 6 seconds to conjure up a fic. Writing takes time, editing, proofreading. Tumblr is a book club, not a delivery service.

5. De(constructive) Criticism

If an opinion isn’t asked for, don’t give it. Many writers choose this craft for their own enjoyment and to share a thought or story about a beloved character to those who love them, too. If an opinion is asked? Be kind when you share it across to them. No one likes their hard work to be shat on by someone who doesn’t understand the time and effort it took to create this piece.

6. Are You My Content Machine?

Again, back to point #1. Writers have busy lives. There are days when we want to scream into the void about our favourite characters. We want to share our thoughts about them or sometimes, we just want to talk about what happened during lunch break. Demanding and expecting that a writer post content without giving a shit about the soul behind the screen? Dehumanizing.

Don’t ruin the experience for those of us who are still here. Do your part to make fandom better for everyone.
