My Experience Getting Witch with It in Salem, MA
It’s hard to come down from the emotional high of an author signing event. Especially, when that event is held in a historic area and there is so much to see and do before I had to fly my broom back to Seattle. TL;DR: The author signing event was fabulous. (Now you can scroll down to the freebies lol) Day 1:My youngest and I took a ten minute train, a six hour flight, an hour bus ride, and a…

Something Borrowed Something Bewitched
Something Borrowed Something Bewitched  A Supernatural Legacies Short by T.J. Deschamps Three men gathered at the edge of the woods, to test their magical mettle. The first, wore a chainmail hauberk and a sword on his back. He was taller, burlier, and spat a lot more than the others. His face told a tale of a life of violence. Some brawls he might have even won. The second wore a long gray robe…

Mistakes Were Made
Mistakes were made. I’ve seen so many of these baking sheet tartlets that I was fully confident I could make one with no recipe. This is how I go into any new endeavor. Headfirst, full of confidence from past experiences of doing other things well, and directly plant my face into a wall.  Do I think I’m a failure as a novice baker because these tartlets didn’t come out as expected?  Not at all.…

Essential Oils for Cryptids and Shifter Motorcycle Grease
A Midlife Supernaturals Short by T.J. Deschamps Author’s Note: This is a short story from the Midlife Supernaturals verse and a meetcute for one of my favorite couples in the series. It is from Princess’s perspective and will give you insight into why she is not so keen on Miriam in the Eastside Hedge Witch. However, you needn’t have read any of my books to enjoy the story. The mood in the…

Midlife Olympians Meet the Characters:
Excerpt from Westside Harpy: The flames doused until only a very pissed off Hermes in full, golden armor, wings spread, and a sword covered in gore remained. My heart fluttered a bit at the site of the god. He was always so subdued in my old Victorian, dressing in sweats and t-shirts or tracksuits like a regular person. Right now, Hermes was in full Olympian mode. He took in the scene until his…

Midlife Olympians Meet the Characters: Persephone
Excerpt from Westside Oracle:“We live in uncertain times. Human belief is shifting. What was the norm for many millennia in your world is no longer so. There’s a revival of the Greco-Roman gods, especially in the Americas where belief is, how do you say, up for grabs.” She smiled at her dog and scratched his ears. “My father once held great power. However, before the Olympians were the Titans.…

Meet the Characters of Midlife Olympians: The Oracle
An excerpt from Westside Oracle: “Would you like a general reading, or a three card draw?” She worried at her lip, clutching the cash to her stomach. If money troubles weren’t already apparent from sizing her up, she gave it away then. “What’s the difference?” “A general offers a little more insight into your life in general. A three-card draw will answer a specific question.” I hoped she’d…

Change is the Only Constant in Life: Here's One in Mine
There are some changes going on around here! First of all, I’ve made a business decision to take some of my ebooks wide. What does that mean? I’ll be releasing each new book in Kindle Unlimited for the initial 90 days so KU readers get a chance at the book for free, and then I’ll be pulling each book from KU and distributing them to ALL THE RETAILERS. Including libraries and Kobo, where readers…

Do you think Michelle Yeoh's Oscar will Lead to More Mature Femme Action Leads?
The Academy has spoken. How about you? In 2020, when I wrote Eastside Hedge Witch, I wasn’t looking to write an action hero. Fighting wasn’t really Miriam’s thing until it was absolutely necessary. Then, she used her magic, not fighting skills to defeat her enemy. However, Lydia’s story is quite different. She’s not on journey of rediscovery of her powers. Her powers have been thrown at her and…

First Full Chapter of Westside Harpy: A paranormal Women's fiction (Midlife Olympians #2)
Author note: I loved writing this cozy moment right before a whirlwind of a story starts. Chapter One Nothing like waking up to a good cup of coffee and a nightmare. A spider the size of a corgi skittered in my direction across the linoleum of the kitchen floor. A few weeks ago, I would’ve screamed bloody murder at the sight of the creature. If you’re an arachnophobe and wish to conquer your…

What's Most Important to You in a Book, Characters or Storyline?
When I'm writing a book, I like to fit in all of the elements I enjoy in a story. Interesting characters with compelling backstories, individual quirks, and lots of fun dialogue.

How a Trip to Greece inspired a Paranormal women's Fantasy Series
Research for Westside Oracle book #1 in the Midlife Olympians series started in Greece and ended in the Olympic Mountains of Washington. Seeing the places, meeting the people, and immersing myself in the culture of where myths come from is an important part of research for me. Had I thought I was going to write a series when I planned my trip to Greece? That’s between me and my accountant.…

Do you Remember Your first Library?
The library from my childhood home town. Greetings book loving friend! My earliest memories are of a little library in my small Pennsylvanian home town. (It’s the converted church pictured above.) The local library had cool architecture, yes, so I loved spending time there. However, I soon discovered the library itself wasn’t the best part. A building is a building, after all. No matter what they…

Did you like to read comics or watch cartoons with superheroes as a kid? I'll admit, much of what I write today is the little kid in me playing with my OC superheroes.
Here’s a pic of me at age five in my Wonder Woman Underoos, doing superhero things. Greetings book loving friend!I want to talk about my love of superheroes. Don’t worry. I won’t rave on as much as I do at fandom conventions.  When I was a kid in the early 80s, I had a pretty big imagination. My parents did a wonderful job with feeding it and encouraging me to explore my creative side.  One of…

Egg prices are outrageous. Here's a deal on Books to escape from this reality you won't want to miss.
Midlife Olympians is a spin-off series set in the world of Midlife Supernaturals. The series focuses on Lydia, former fake fortuneteller and current real Oracle to the Gods. She has always pretended to know the future, but now she’s gained the inherited power of the Oracles of Delphi, she doesn’t know how to wield it and is pretty sure she doesn’t want any part of the supernatural…
