I hate this, I fucking hate this. I’m basically forced to play ‘pick which friend you want to lose’ and I don’t want to lose either of them but the way things are looking, there’s no third option here.

I’m not sure which is worse; knowing that one of my mutuals has done this or knowing what happened but being unsure who it was. There’s no point in wishing to turn back the clock or hoping for a mindwipe because it is a truth and truths never stay hidden.

Ties to Garlemald? Lukas is quite knowledgeable about Garlean tech and society. Given how tight lipped he is about his past, perhaps Lukas is an escaped soldier, or someone who lived in Garlean territories.

Live for the Fight. Lukas has a weakness for quasi-legal fist fighting tournaments. If there’s one being advertised, you can likely find him either in the crowd or in the ring.

Voided Soul. Those capable of sensing the differences in aether may notice that Lukas has an extra passenger with him. For one reason or another, Lukas has allied himself with a voidsent.

Buy me another round. If he’s not fist fighting, Lukas can be found in the various bars of Eorzea, sampling the drinks and atmosphere. If one is trying to cozy up to the strange miqo’te, the best bet is to approach him while he’s buzzed.

Second, I will straight up admit that I’m writing Lukas and his story by the seat of my pants. Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a tiny kingdom on the border of Garlemald. In spite of its small size, the kingdom did fairly well for itself, and frequently traded goods with the territories surrounding it.

Once upon a time, there was a royal family that ruled the kingdom. A crown prince destined to rule as his father did before him. He was a dutiful prince, one who hated to have tasks left unfinished. Despite this, he would get into trouble as young men often do, amusing himself by fighting other men in hand to hand.

Once upon a time, there were nations surrounding the tiny kingdom. Nations who used forbidden and dark rites to bring their gods to life to bear against their enemies.

Once upon a time, there was a tiny kingdom whose army fell before conjured faith, whose people were killed in broad daylight under the orders of rulers gone mad.

Once upon a time, a castle was invaded and its occupants slaughtered. The crown prince watched as his loved ones were murdered before his eyes, before his attackers turned their blades on him.

Once upon a time, a prince lay in a growing pool of his own blood, cursing his inability to save his people and the fair weather allies who did nothing. And so the prince wept as he waited for the end.

Once upon a time, a shadow found the dying prince. “Let me in,” it whispered in his ear. “And I will give you the power to make them suffer. Let me in, and I will grant you life.”

Once upon a time, a desperate prince accepted a shadow’s offer. A hopeful idealistic prince died, and a hardened bitter revenant was all that remained. Driven by revenge and hungering for crystals, the prince vowed to restore his former kingdom on the bones of his enemies.

So because I am a dumb and don’t know how to convert the Eorzean calendar to ours, I realized Ruri’s birthday was about a week ago. Fishy skink turned eighteen. So I decided to do a real quick photo shoot of Ruri enjoying some birthday treats. Happy birthday to my little falling moon.

In an update involving Ruri, I’m tentatively headcanon’ing her as having BPD. I knew for a long time she’s was mentally ill, but I think I’ve finally pinned down exactly what she has. I say tentatively because I want to talk to an fc mate with BPD to make sure Ruri’s behavior lines up with the disorder before setting anything in stone.
