THEN the prophets, Chaggai the prophet, and Zakaryahu the son of Iddo, prophesied unto the Yahudiym that were in Yahudah and Yerushalayim in the name of the Elohiym of Yashar'el, even unto them. Then rose up Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, and Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, and began to build the house of Elohiym which is at Yerushalayim: and with them were the prophets of Elohiym helping them. At the same time came to them Tattenai, governor on this side of the river, and Shethar Boznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who has commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall? Then said we unto them after this manner, What are the names of the men that make this building? But the eye of their Elohiym was upon the elders of the Yahudiym, that they could not cause them to cease, till the matter came to Dareyavesh: and then they returned answer by cepher concerning this matter. The copy of the cepher that Tattenai, governor on this side the river, and Shethar Boznai, and his companions the Apharcekayiym, which were on this side of the river, sent unto Dareyavesh the king: They sent a cepher unto him, wherein was written thus; Unto Dareyavesh the king, all peace. Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Yahud, to the house of the great Elohiym, which is built with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goes fast on, and prospers in their hands. Then asked we those elders, and said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls? We asked their names also, to certify you, that we might write the names of the men that were the chief of them. And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the Elohiym of heaven and earth, and build the house that was built these many years ago, which a great king of Yashar'el built and set up. But after that our fathers had provoked the Elohiym of heaven unto wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nevukadne'tstsar the king of Babel, the Kasdiy, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babel. But in the first year of Koresh the king of Babel the same King Koresh made a decree to build this house of Elohiym. And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of Elohiym, which Nevukadne'tstsar took out of the Temple that was in Yerushalayim, and brought them into the temple of Babel, those did Koresh the king take out of the temple of Babel, and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbatstsar, whom he had made governor; And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the Temple that is in Yerushalayim, and let the house of Elohiym be built in his place. Then came the same Sheshbatstsar, and laid the foundation of the house of Elohiym which is in Yerushalayim: and since that time even until now has it been in building, and yet it is not finished. Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let there be search made in the king's treasure house, which is there at Babel, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Koresh the king to build this house of Elohiym at Yerushalayim, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.

AND when the seventh month was come, and the children of Yashar'el were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Yerushalayim. Then stood up Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, and his brethren, and built the altar of the Elohiym of Yashar'el, to offer ascending smoke offerings thereon, as it is written in the Torah of Mosheh the man of Elohiym. And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered ascending smoke offerings thereon unto Yahuah, even ascending smoke offerings morning and evening. They kept also the Feast of Cukkoth, as it is written, and offered the daily ascending smoke offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required; And afterward offered the continual ascending smoke offering, both of the New Moons, and of all the set feasts of Yahuah that were consecrated, and of everyone that willingly offered a freewill offering unto Yahuah. From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer ascending smoke offerings unto Yahuah. But the foundation of the Temple of Yahuah was not yet laid. They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Tsiydon, and to them of Tsor, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Yapho, according to the grant that they had of Koresh king of Persia. Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of Elohiym at Yerushalayim, in the second month, began Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, and Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Leviyiym, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Yerushalayim; and appointed the Leviyiym, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of Yahuah. Then stood Yeshua with his sons and his brethren, Qadmiy'el and his sons, the sons of Yahudah, together, to set forward the workmen in the house of Elohiym: the sons of Chenadad, with their sons and their brethren the Leviyiym. And when the builders laid the foundation of the Temple of Yahuah, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Leviyiym the sons of Acaph with cymbals, to praise Yahuah, after the ordinance of Daviyd king of Yashar'el. And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto Yahuah; because he is good, for his mercy endures forever toward Yashar'el. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Yahuah, because the foundation of the house of Yahuah was laid. But many of the priests and Leviyiym and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

NOW these were the sons of Daviyd, which were born unto him in Chevron; the firstborn Amnon, of Achiyno'am the Yizre'e'liyth; the second Daniy'el, of Aviygayil the Karmeliyth: The third, Avshalom the son of Ma`akah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adoniyahu the son of Chaggiyith: The fifth, Shephatyahu of Aviytal: the sixth, Yithre'am by Eglah his woman. These six were born unto him in Chevron; and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Yerushalayim he reigned thirty and three years. And these were born unto him in Yerushalayim; Shim'a, and Shovav, and Nathan, and Shalomah, four, of Bath-Shua the daughter of Ammiy'el: Yivchar also, and Eliyshama, and Eliyphelet, And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Yaphiya, And Eliyshama, and Elyada, and Eliyphelet, nine. These were all the sons of Daviyd, beside the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister. And Shalomah's son was Rechav'am, Aviyahu his son, Aca his son, Yahushaphat his son, Yoram his son, Achazyahu his son, Yo'ash his son, Amatsyahu his son, Azaryahu his son, Yotham his son, Achaz his son, Yechizqiyahu his son, Menashsheh his son, Amon his son, Yo'shiyahu his son. And the sons of Yo'shiyahu were, the firstborn Yochanon, the second Yahuyaqiym, the third Tsidqiyahu, the fourth Shallum. And the sons of Yahuyaqiym: Yekonyahu his son, Tsidqiyahu his son. And the sons of Yekonyahu; Acciyr, She'altiy'el his son, Malkiyram also, and Pedayahu, and Shenatstsar, Yeqamyah, Hushama, and Nedavyah. And the sons of Pedayahu were, Zerubbavel, and Shim'iy: and the sons of Zerubbavel; Meshullam, and Chananyahu, and Shelomiyth their sister: And Chashuvah, and Ohel, and Berekyahu, and Chacadyah, Yushav Checed, five. And the sons of Chananyahu; Pelatyahu, and Yesha`yahu: the sons of Rephayah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Ovadyahu, the sons of Shekanyahu. And the sons of Shekanyahu; Shema`yahu: and the sons of Shema'yahu; Chattush, and Yig'al, and Bariyach, and Ne`aryah, and Shaphat, six. And the sons of Ne`aryah; Elyahu`aynai, and Yechizqiyahu, and Azriyqam, three. And the sons of Elyahu`aynai were, Hudayavahu, and Elyashiyv, and Pelayah, and Aqquv, and Yochanon, and Delayahu, and Ananiy, seven.

AND the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep, And said unto me, What do you see? And I said, I have looked, and behold a menorah all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. So I answered and spoke to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my adoniy? Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Know you not what these be? And I said, No, my adoniy. Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the Word of Yahuah unto Zerubbavel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Ruach, says Yahuah Tseva'oth. Who are you, O great mountain? before Zerubbavel you shall become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Moreover the Word of Yahuah came unto me, saying, The hands of Zerubbavel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that Yahuah Tseva'oth has sent me unto you. For who has despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbavel with those seven; they are the eyes of Yahuah, which run to and fro through the whole earth. Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the menorah and upon the left side thereof? And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Know you not what these be? And I said, No, my adoniy. Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Adonai of the whole earth.

IN the second year of Dareyavesh the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the Word of Yahuah by Chaggai the prophet unto Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, governor of Yahudah, and to El-Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, the high priest, saying, Thus speaks Yahuah Tseva'oth, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that Yahuah's house should be built. Then came the Word of Yahuah by Chaggai the prophet, saying, Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? Now therefore thus says Yahuah Tseva'oth; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus says Yahuah Tseva'oth; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, says Yahuah. Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? says Yahuah Tseva'oth. Because of my house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. Therefore the heavens over you are stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hands. Then Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, and Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of Yahuah Elohayhem, and the words of Chaggai the prophet, as Yahuah Elohayhem had sent him, and the people did fear before Yahuah. Then spoke Chaggai Yahuah's messenger in Yahuah's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, says Yahuah. And Yahuah stirred up the ruach of Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, governor of Yahudah, and the ruach of Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, the high priest, and the ruach of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of Yahuah Tseva'oth, their Elohiym, In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Dareyavesh the king.

THE remembrance of Yo'shiyahu is like the composition of the perfume that is made by the art of the apothecary: it is sweet as honey in all mouths, and as music at a banquet of wine. He behaved himself uprightly in the conversion of the people, and took away the abominations of iniquity. He directed his heart unto Yahuah, and in the time of the wicked he established the worship of Elohiym. All, except David and Yechizqiyahu and Yo'shiyahu, were defective: for they forsook the Torah of El Elyon, even the kings of Yahudah failed. Therefore he gave their power unto others, and their glory to a strange nation. They burnt the chosen city of the sanctuary, and made the streets desolate, according to the prophecy of Yirmeyahu. For they intreated him evil, who nevertheless was a prophet, sanctified in his mother's womb, that he might root out, and afflict, and destroy; and that he might build up also, and plant. It was Yechezq'el who saw the glorious vision, which was showed him upon the chariot of the Keruviym. For he made mention of the enemies under the figure of the rain, and directed them that went right. And of the twelve prophets let the memorial be blessed, and let their bones flourish again out of their place: for they comforted Ya`aqov, and delivered them by assured hope. How shall we magnify Zerubbavel? even he was as a signet on the right hand: So was Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq: who in their time built the house, and set up a holy Temple to Yahuah, which was prepared for everlasting glory. And among the elect was Nechemyahu, whose renown is great, who raised up for us the walls that were fallen, and set up the gates and the bars, and raised up our ruins again. But upon the earth was no man created like Chanok; for he was taken from the earth. Neither was there a young man born like Yoceph, a governor of his brethren, a stay of the people, whose bones were regarded of Yahuah. Shem and Sheth were in great honor among men, and so was A'dam above every living thing in creation.
