Have you ever had that special someone, from your early days of adulthood? yung you became special friends, but due to circumstances, you just can't find the timing to be together? It's either you have a relationship, or he has. But you stayed friends, pero malayong friends kasi you are both scared to be close friends kasi baka mag ignite yung spark and mag cause ng trouble? because, same. haha! We both want each other, but the timing was always off. I just loved him from afar. I will never know how being in a relationship with him feels like, hindi ko din nga sure if nasa utak ko lang na dream relationship ko siya.

At times, iniisip ko if I will die not knowing or it is better to not know and just love him from afar. Pero now, wala naman akong regrets. I just want to see him happy.

I feel like I will never love someone as much as I loved him. It was a different kind of love, a love that allowed me to care for him and still let him go and see the world. I love him so much that I don't want to own him, I want to see him go and reach his best version. I just love loving him without expecting anything in return.

Now I understand how loving selflessly feels like, because you embraced the reality of not being together. Tanggap mo na may mamahalin siya, pero kahit na, mahal mo pa din, no ifs no buts. Masaya pala, it's freeing, it's liberating na magmahal without any attachment, hindi masakit kasi kung saan siya masaya, doon ka and you freely do it kasi mahal mo. Mahal mo. period.

Salamat Ralph, loving you was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. You made me understand na masarap magmahal, that when you genuinely love the person, you just want them to be happy. I know parallel universe/realities exists, and sa ibang universe, ikaw at ako, tayong dalawa, habambuhay.

something significant happened today. as im writing this, ive surpassed 100k listeners on spotify. i know that statistic could be fickle... bukas pwedeng bumaba, bukas pwedeng tumaas. but the point is, for at least a month, my music reached 100k real people. thats crazy when i think about how i started this year with barely 1k people listening. and nung sinimulan ko yung solo career ko, naisip ko na pag umabot ako sa 100k, then i know ive made it (whatever making it means). and i know that im on to something here. syempre yung nangunguna na kanta ay yung "bawat piyesa (secret verse)." kung tutuusin, lumang kanta na talaga siya, pero may mga bagong dinagdag that makes it something else, something more (at least in my opinion). naisip ko, parang metaphor pala ito sa career ko noh. marami sa inyo matagal na akong kilala at kabisado niyo na ang mga dati ko pang ginagawa. pero natutuwa ako na marami rin sa inyo ang tuluyang nakikinig sa mga bago kong ginagawa at mga bagong sinusubukan. kaya from the bottom of my heart, salamat. grateful ako for everything this year. gusto ko rin magthank you sa marilag recordings specifically ang matagal ko nang mga kaibigan na si glenn and nukie for believing in me since day one and for giving me a chance to keep doing my music. gusto ko rin magthank you sa araw sa gabi management kay jana and sud sa pagpulot sakin at sa paglakbay kasama ako. syempre thank you rin sa mga sessionists na kasama ko lagi sa mga gigs this year: si kerith, eb, patrick, ralph, andrei. thank you sa inyong lahat na nagtiyatiyaga kayo sakin hahaha. thank you syempre sa mom ko na lagi akong pinagdadasal, at tsaka sa siblings at friends ko. thanks yall for being proud of me. and syempre thank you kay sam for being my best friend. lagi kong kakantahin ang kanta mo. hindi naman ako nanalo ng award pero bakit nagtutunog ganun? hahaha. yung award ko ay kayo. naks. cheesy. salamat wonderful people. kung may wish man ako para next year, hindi lang dumami tayo.. pero na sabay-sabay rin tayo maggrow as people. maging more loving, understanding, patient, kind, wonderful. i believe this is what our community is all about. that we all continue to become something else. something more. ang lagi kong hinahangad: ang maging malaya, kasama ka. p.s: eto na rin siguro yung year end reflection post ko. dahil medyo maghahibernate ako for the next few days. tamang schedule lang ng social media posts bago mag xmas tas video games all day orayt. see yall next year!! stream kasama kita album photo by miguel go

Believing Without Seeing

SA MISMONG ARAW NG MULING PAGKABUHAY NI HESUS, dalawa sa mga tagasunod Niya ang papunta sa Emmaus, isang komunidad na nasa labing-isang kilometero ang layo mula sa Jerusalem. Habang naglalakad sila at nag-uusap tungkol sa mga nangyari kay Kristo sa Jerusalem, they were interrupted by Jesus. Ang sabi ni Hesus, “Ano ang pinag-uusapan ninyo?”

Now, Luke states that the eyes of the disciples “were kept from recognizing Jesus.” Ibig sabihin, hindi si Hesus ang nakikita ng mga mata nila kundi isang estranghero.

Nakatayo lang yung dalawa, malungkot, at ang tanong ng isa sa kanila kay Hesus, “Ikaw lang ba ang nag-iisang estranghero sa Jerusalem na hindi alam kung ano ang mga naganap doon?” Now, this is actually a funny and ironic scene because, kung meron mang nakakaalam sa lahat ng mga bagay na nangyari sa Jerusalem, that was the stranger in front of them — that was Jesus.

So ang lola n’yo, patay-malisya: “What things?” They replied, “The things about Jesus of Nazareth, who was a PROPHET (emphasis sa PROPHET)… and how our chief priests and leaders handed Him over to be condemned to death and crucified him.”

I would like to emphasize the use of the word PROPHET, instead of MESSIAH, because it’s an implication that the two disciples had lost their faith in Jesus. In fact, sabi sa verse 21, “We had hoped that He was the one to redeem Israel.” HAD HOPED. Past perfect tense. Nawalan na nga sila ng pag-asa, nawalan pa sila ng pananampalataya.

And before I go on, I want to validate the disbelief of the two disciples. For indeed, we have witnessed numerous instances that have left us disenchanted and disheartened, ranging from the complexities of family dynamics, the intricacies of financial matters, and the often turbulent realm of Philippine politics.

LAST MONTH, sa loob lamang ng isang linggo, actually sa loob lamang ng dalawang magkasunod na araw, na-reject ako sa dalawang in-apply-an kong trabahong bet na bet ko talagang makuha. It was a humbling experience, it made me realize that I am not the best and the world doesn’t revolve around me, but it was also a very frustrating experience. Ang sakit kasi breadwinner ako, three years na kaming walang pay raise dahil sa ABS-CBN shutdown, at oras ang kalaban ko. I need a better-paying job, not today, not yesterday, but months ago.

At tulad ng “pagkabulag” ng dalawang tagasunod ni Hesus, nakakabulag din sa pananampalataya ko ang mga panahong frustrated ako, galit, malungkot, at talunan. “Bakit hindi ko maramdaman ang sinasabi nilang grasya ng Panginoon?” “Totoo ba ang ‘Jesus story,’ o inimbento lang ‘yan ng mga sinaunang tao para paniwalain ang mga sarili nilang may ‘forever’ after death?” “MAY DIYOS BA TALAGA?!”

In fact, nung may kinonsulta ako kay Pastor Joseph tungkol dun sa isang job application kung saan na-reject ako, I told him na nagiging agnostic na ako recently at nahihirapan akong magdasal.

Kapag napapagod na tayo sa buhay, kapag hindi natin nakukuha ang gusto natin, mas madaling sisihin ang universe o kuwestyunin ang existence ng Diyos dahil ‘yon ang mas convenient.

So the two disciples became doubtful after they learned that the body of Jesus was nowhere to be found: Verses 22-24: “Some women of our group astounded us. They were at the tomb early this morning, and when they did not find His body there, they came back and told us that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who said that JESUS WAS ALIVE. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Him.”

Sinabihan na silang JESUS WAS ALIVE, pero they still chose not to believe and just leave. So naimbyrena si Hesus at inawardan sila. Verse 25: “Then He said to them, ‘Oh, how foolish you are and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have declared! Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and then enter into His glory?’”

So ang ginawa ni Hesus, “nagpa-Bible study” ng Old Testament para i-remind ang dalawa tungkol sa ugat ng pananampalataya nila. And that’s very noteworthy, kasi minsan, kumbaga sa halaman, ano ba ang pumipigil sa pag-blossom ng bulaklak? Baka naman hindi nakakakuha ng sapat na nutrients, so didiligan mo nang sapat at maayos ang mga ugat nito. Minsan, kapag nawawalan na tayo ng pananampalataya at pumupunta na lang tayo sa MCC para sa mga “baklaan” at hindi dahil kay Hesus, kailangan nating balikan ang ugat ng problema na tumulak sa’tin para maghanap ng espasyong tulad ng MCC. At ang ugat ng problema na ‘yon ay ang katotohanang hindi tayo binigyan ng dati nating mga Simbahan ng espasyo na maging Kristyano at queer at the same time.

Kaya tayo nandito sa MCC kasi kailangan natin ng chosen family na gagabay sa’tin para mag-blossom tayo by being our authentic self. Kaya tayo nandito kasi alam nating may potensyal tayong maging magagandang mga bulalak, at alam nating hindi tayo mamumukadkad habang nasa konserbatibong hardin tayo at ang pinandidilig nila sa’tin ay kung anu-anong mga kathang-isip na kasalanan.

Nung malapit na sila sa Emmaus, nagpatay-malisya ulit si Hesus, and He walked ahead as if He were going on. Pero pinigilan Siya ng dalawang desipulo. “Stay with us because the day is nearly over.” Sumama sa kanila si Hesus. No’ng nasa hapag na sila, kumuha si Hesus ng tinapay, binasbasan N’ya ito, biniyak, at inialay sa kanila. Pagkatapos ay namulat sila, nakilala nila si Hesus, at bigla Siyang naglaho sa kanilang paningin.

“Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking to us on the road, while He was opening the scriptures to us?” That same hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem, and they found the eleven and their companions gathered together. They were saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and He has appeared to Simon!” Then they told what had happened on the road and how He had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread.

The story of the Road to Emmaus prompts us to contemplate the profound impact of encountering the risen Christ and underscores the importance of community in our personal journey of transformation. It reminds us to actively seek guidance and support from others and to remain receptive to the possibility of encountering the Divine in unexpected and unconventional ways.

Naramdaman ko noong nakaraang eleksyon ang frustration na naramdaman ng dalawang tagasunod ni Hesus. Alam ko ang pakiramdam ng magpakapagod para sa kinabukasan ng bansa, at ang mapangakuan ng pag-asa at makita itong maglaho na parang bula dahil sa maling pagpili ng mga taong biktima ng bulok na sistema at nilang mga namulat na sana ngunit mas piniling hindi makakita.

Nakakagalit. Nakapanghihinayang. Pero tulad ng nangyari sa Daan Patungong Emmaus, mga estrangehero rin ang nagpakita sa akin ng daan pabalik sa muling paniniwala at patungo sa panibagong pakikibaka. Mga estrangherong galing sa iba’t ibang karanasan at katayuan sa buhay, ngunit pinagbubuklod ng isang kulay — isang kulay na simbolo ng pag-asa, hustisya, at totoong pagbabago.

The story of the Road to Emmaus is a compelling reminder that the Resurrection of Jesus transcends mere historical significance, but rather represents an enduring invitation to encounter the Divine and undergo transformation. It enlightens us to the unpredictable ways in which the risen Christ can manifest in our lives, be it through chance encounters with strangers or through introspective reflection. Embracing this invitation sets us on a transformative journey of growth, change, and renewal, affording us the opportunity to flourish into a life imbued with deep meaning and purpose.

Finally, the story of the Road to Emmaus reminds us that, if we have unwavering faith in Jesus, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, not even death can make us part.

I've been feeling something this past few weeks.

Yung isang guy friend ko kasi (from 2015) from previous church, nagreply sa ngl ko last June 12, 2023. (I knew that it was him kasi he was the first to view my story) He said (per my assumption) through ngl, "do you even like school" and "not to b creepy but you're rly cute lol"

I replied the second entry by reposting the same in my story with my answer: (pabebe emoji) "Anong gusto mo? PM ka lang. HAHAHA CHAR thanks lods" which he immediately viewed as well. The next entry was him (per my assumption again) asking for my fav drink. My assumption occurred na gusto niyang malaman yon para alam niya kung among oorderin pag nagkita kami? HAHAHAHA badtrip na assumption yan.

Pero I answered for my favorite drink is Hot tea with honey, lemon/calamansi. Feeling ko fail yun kasi homemade yung drink sinagot ko, and he was expecting something na can be found in coffee shops.

Tapos ayun, he continued viewing my stories for the week (June 12-17) ANDD for the highlight, earlier, HE SENT ME A DM AT 6:42 AM.

May story kasi ako (ngl ulit) tapos may nag-ask:

"when was the last time you pissed the bed?" Ang ewan ng tanong pero i answered it anyway. HAHA siyempre di naman tayo kj dito. Tapos sabi ko "hahahaha lods, di ko alam, parang sa sobrang tagal di ko na matandaan"

Tapos he replied: Mga 5 years ago ba?

Me: Higher kuya HAHAHHH xD

Him: Kuya ka dyan - Mas matanda ka sakin - De 5 years

Me: (replied to "Kuya ka dyan) Di mo nagets, yung sa deal or no deal kasi yon HAHAHAHAHA

Him: Matagal na yan

Me: Diba sinasabi nila "Higher kuya" - (replied to "De 5 years) Bakit mas marunong ka pa sakin HAHAHAHAHAHA

Him: (replied to "di mo nagets") Ay sorry

Tapos nag-haha reax na lang ako. (parang ang galing ko lang talaga magstop at magpush ng people away from me no?) Pero, gusto ko sana sabihin na (joke lang wag ka magalit jan) pero I'd like to know kung may kasunod pang chat siyang gagawin. Kung wala, eh di wala. HAHAHAHA

Nahihirapan tuloy ako, dahil advanced ako mag-isip, bibitawan ko ba si Santi na pinagdasal at hinihintay ko ng ilang taon na para dito kay Wreck-It-Ralph? hahahaha bagal naman kasi nitong labidabs ko, bahala ka jan pag naunahan ka nito, magsisisi ka.

Pero if it happens, siguro ako ang pinakaunang malulungkot. :(

Sobra sobra kong mahal at appreciated si Ralph talaga, imagine ang tagal naming di nag uusap. Tagal ng huling kita at chismisan namin pero naaalala niya pa din kung sino yung kasama ko sa music fest and hot air balloon. Nashookt talaga ako. SInend ko kasi sakanya yung poster ng Aurora Music Fest eme tapos sabi niya agad sakin “Yan yung pinuntahan niyo dati ni Pat diba”, like omg???? Paano? Paano mo naalala?? Sobrang natouch talaga ako na hanggang ngayon di pa ko makarecover sa pagka shock ko. It’s the little things talaga. 4 years or 5 years ago na ata yun pero naalala niya pa din. Hindi ako makamove on hahahaha first time kasi na may nakaalala ng mga ganong bagay na friend ko hahaha wala lang, im so happy. my heart is so happy.

wao pwede pala yan i bold size ang font HAHAHA, how cool ngyon ko lang nalaman.. anyways, finals exam na namin next week AHAHAHAHHAAH potchaaaa grind ako neto sa pag review HUUUUUHHUHUH. I had a great day, liga nung mga kaiba ko mag lunch kanina HAHAAHHA su sa jeep talaga su diko kinaya HAAHAHAH okay since makakalimutan ko lang nman ito kwento ko na here kasi naatatwa paden ako hanggang ngayon HAHAHAH kasi may jeep na dumating sa harap namin sa CSSP sakto pa SM kami, SM den yung JEEP. Bagong pasada palang yung jeep wala pang pasahero, kami palang unang umupo si glen at josh, sunod ako sa kabilang side katabi si ralph at karyl kami lahat sa dulo ng jeep. tapos naalala ko nag viral yung paabot ng bayad sa driver eh lahat kami nasa dulo ng jeep AHAHAHAHAH sabi ko since katabi ko si karyl ATE PAABOT BAYAD HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA POTAAAA HAHAHAAHHA TAWANG TAWA KAMI KANINA HAHAHA PATI SI KUYA DRIVER TAWANG TAWA AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH. okay bye

urag man kaistorya nung mga kasabay ko kaninang lunch kasi di kami nag mamayabangan, su parang mapasabi ka na “ay wow” urag man, urag mag lunch with them, sakanila ko ulit na sense yung totoong lunch AHAHAHHA yung dimo ma realize na ubos na yung kinakain mong ice cream kasi dami nyong mga pinag usapan.
