-He’d surfed many seas, rode an infinite amount of waves, though none of them quite felt like home, like he’d surfaced. It wasn’t until he met the guy with eyes as deep as the ocean that he let himself drift to shore, sinking right into them. Everything about him was like being right on the edge, like you could travel for miles and still never quite reach his depths, like a wave that couldn’t be touched, couldn’t be brought down. Sometimes, you couldn’t stop the wave, but you could learn to surf it. Eddie had spent his entire life riding the waves, but nothing could prepare him for the depths of Evan Buckley.

It’s so cool! I can’t wait to see the turtles.”

Eddie either; they’d watched Finding Nemo one too many times, both of them always drawn to the sea creatures.

“Me too buddy, but I don’t think we’ll get to see any of the swimming kind today.”

Chris frowned for a moment, though it immediately disappeared as a giant tortoise came into view; Eddie nearly missed the turtle for the man that was standing next to it.

“Wow,” Chris exclaimed.

Wow indeed, Eddie thought silently to himself.

Sat crouched next to the tortoise was a beautiful man, golden curls blowing in the breeze. The guy was wearing boots with cargo pants and a flannel, nothing special, though Eddie couldn’t take his eyes off the man all the same.

“I’m the official turtle guy around here, but you guys can just call me Buck.”

Buck huh?

the holiday calendar 🎄

When Buck comes into possession of an old advent calendar, he thinks nothing of it, only that it's an old tradition he and Maddie share. It's only the beginning of the holidays, Buck ready to dive into all of the usual festivities. It's only after the first night that Buck realizes the calendar is a little more than just a calendar. He had enough bad luck before; he didn't need any help, thanks.

Buck ends up with an advent calendar during the start of the holiday season. He thinks it's possessed and out to ruin his life, the toys inside continually leading him to some doe-eyed beauty and his adorable son. Featuring best sister Maddie, and all the Uncle-Buck fluff we've been snubbed of.

“Say we want to, I don’t know…maybe you…or I, will want to let the other know that I’m safe at work, like if there’s a bad call or something.”

Eddie nodded for him to go on, Buck already reaching to tap the correct buttons.

“How about two taps means: ‘I’m safe’.”

Buck tapped his bracelet twice, the two of them watching in awe as Eddie’s lit up, vibrating where it lay over his wrist. He watched as Eddie visibly shivered; he couldn’t be sure if it was due to the magic of the bracelets, or Eddie’s fear of technology—maybe a little of both.

Buck cleared his throat, ducking his head a little as he continued.

“And maybe, we could use—4 taps to say: ‘I’m hurt, but ok’.”

Eddie looked up to him then, raising a brow.

“How many taps do we need for, ‘my best friend is a dumbass and did something stupid again, and I’m not there to have his back’?”

Buck deadpanned.

“Well, that would be nineteen, to be exact.”

Buck buys him and Eddie touch bracelets, not wanting either of them to feel disconnected after Eddie leaves. They help, but the real thing is still better.
