I just want to say that, guys

For the past, uh *counting on fingers* four-ish months that I've been on Tumblr, which I have seen many refer to as "this hellsite"

(which I also have, affectionately)

I'm actually pretty sure this is about as close to any depiction of "heaven" as it gets in our mortal world. Particularly on the internet.

Like.

I've been able to simp here with no restraint.

Able to post fan fiction and headcanons and experiment with digital art and just be silly and have fun and be myself without concern.

I've been able to just enjoy things, without any anxiety.

Without any anxiety.

Being that I've lived pretty much my entire life dealing with crippling anxiety about literally everything, that's kind of a huge thing for me.

I have no anxiety about posting anything here. None. At all. It's weird af, but it's weird in the best way.

I have actual confidence here, which I've really never had before in my life, and it's nice.

So to everyone that's been here with me over the course of the past few months, to everyone that's been kind, everyone that's been understanding and accepting and just overall wonderful:

i am tired and procrastinating and i'm sure someone has said this already, and better, but Nightshade in Transformers: Earthspark is making me so emotional.

it's about the joy of being queer and especially the joy of finding out there's a whole world full of people like you and the joy of learning that there's words that describe how you feel and the joy of being able to talk about it.

being queer is a wonderful experience and i'm so so unbelievably happy that there's starting to be media that shares that opinion so blatantly. there's people out there who get you and people you can talk to and my gods so many people who have stood where you're standing and whose footprints in the road ahead can show you where you might end up. you can wave at them and say hi! i'm like you! and then they might say hi! i'm like you! and that connection gets to sit in the back of your mind for the rest of your life because you're not alone and you've never been alone.

what a wonderful experience indeed.

Hello, hello! I started this blog one month ago today!

Thank you so much to everyone who reblogged, replied and liked one of my drabbles or one-shots. Seeing my work appreciated by so many of you is genuinely so nice. I won't lie, I was very nervous to start posting again after my retirement. I hadn't written any creative pieces in over 3 years so you can imagine I was a bit rusty, but you've all been incredibly kind and patient.

Now, unfortunately, I didn't get to finish the first draft of the Dabi fic like I wanted to. Who knew I sucked at pacing myself with longer stories (I did) and that writing this would be difficult for me (I did)? I feel bad for not being able to make it, but I'm working hard to get it done. Which is also why I typed this message up in advance and scheduled it lmao. As much as I like reading and interacting with other people on here, I'm gonna take a few days away to binge-write.

WE 👏 WANT 👏 A 👏DABI 👏 SEMI-SLOWBURN 👏 and I aim to deliver.

"So, you're a witch. What does that mean?"

"Hmm," Harlow sighs and reaches deep into another skirt pocket, producing a pocket watch. She turns the gold timepiece over in her hands. On one side it's embossed with a blazing sun whose rays drip down the sides like surrealist clocks. The other side features a delicate crescent moon floating upon a sea of stars. She presses on one of these stars with her thumb and the watch pops open, revealing several analogue faces all ticking away in unison—all except one. She flicks it shut and returns it to her pocket. "Unfortunately, we don't have much time tonight so I'll have to keep my answers relatively brief. "So, magic is the manipulation of power—or energy, if that's an easier way to picture it—and, when done correctly, allows magicians to bend the rules of reality, temporarily subverting laws of physics, logic, mathematics, probability, et cetera. However, there are some things magic cannot do. It can't permanently change reality and it can't create or destroy power. For the most part, magicians must use whatever energy already exists in a plane of existence—and it may help to think of planes of existence as alternate realities. Now, 'witch' is just one of the many terms used to describe people who perform magic using the energy of this plane. Does that make sense?"

"Yeah, I think so. And how do you become a witch?"

"You just learn to cast spells, brew potions, craft rituals, so on and so forth. Probably read a bunch of boring books with really long words and fail a lot until you finally manage to do something right. It's something anyone can do with the right teacher or information."

"Could you teach me?"

Harlow tilts her head and shrugs. "Maybe."

Tommy squeals, "Awesome. And are there other witches in Casper?"

"Yes. In fact, this city has more witches and magicians than most."

"Whoa," he whispers. Faces of family members, friends, acquaintances, random strangers he's seen around town, all flit through his mind. Who else could be hiding a secret like this?
