I don't want to invade the community, but I genuinely can't tell if my kin feelings are voluntary or involuntary. Does that mean I'm a KFF?
Tl;dr: No. Also heads-up that I get very emphatic in this post; that's not because I'm mad at you or anything, it's because people in general keep either misunderstanding or intentionally twisting what "KFF" is supposed to mean to make it sound way more exclusionist and gatekeepery than it actually is and I'm getting frustrated with that.
You're only "KFF" if you are knowingly, actively, intentionally using the word "kinning" to mean relating to, projecting onto, etc. a character while not actually at all identifying as them. That is, if you are "kinning for fun," "kinning" for the purpose of having fun, and it's not at all a genuine identity thing for you. It's in the phrase they use for themselves from which the acronym "KFF" came from.
If you identify as them in some way (voluntary or involuntary imo - the words copinglinker/otherlinker exist specifically for voluntary identity, but as I've said in a recent post, I find hardline enforcing that distinction less and less useful as time goes on, though certainly having the words available is useful, and anyway 'linkers aren't KFF either), you're not KFF.
If you aren't sure whether it's an identify-as thing or something else, and you're figuring that out, you're not KFF.
If you're not sure whether it's an identify-as thing or something else, and have given up on figuring it out because that line isn't clear for you and just want to settle somewhere and talk about your experiences genuinely, you're not KFF.
If you enjoy being 'kin and like to joke around and have fun with it, but it is still a genuine identity thing for you at its core, you're not KFF.
If you have a "weird" identity (in literally whatever way you can think of), that does not make you KFF.
KFF has a very specific meaning and "my experiences are weird and/or blurry in one aspect or another and I'm not quite sure what to make of them" is not it. (Nor is "having fun with being 'kin" and I really wish people would stop confusing those two.) It specifically (again, as is in the literal name) means people who are intentionally misusing "kinning" for something they KNOW isn't an identity thing.

anyway. i think more people need to stop reacting to "this post leaves out people like xyz" type additions with "i'm literally xyz shut up!" when the post itself literally does not mention people like xyz even once and reads as though people who are like xyz were not even considered. like, just because you are xyz doesn't mean that's clear in your post. people are not automatically accusing you of hating or not caring about people like xyz for bringing up that a specific post leaves them out. (and also people are not reading every inch of your blog before responding to a one-off post they encountered on someone else's blog.)
if you make a post about abc and leave out xyz, then people who live at the intersection of abc and xyz are allowed to mention that the intersection exists. just because you also live at that intersection but didn't point it out doesn't mean people are attacking you or whatever.
whatever happened to assuming "yes, and"? why does everyone assume (and react in kind with) "no, fuck you" nowadays?

dni if you support relationships between vampires and the vampire they sired. i am so serious, i dont care what your justification is, that is an unforgivable power imbalance. its almost as bad as vampire human relationships (and if you support that i hope you get a splinter in the heart)

op what the fuck is your problem? more maggots in your brain than usual? go out into the real underworld and touch some graveyard dirt. i know at least 7 vampires who are in happy healthy relationships with the vampire who sired them. me included! this may shock you but we started dating when i was human and she was a vamp!

i hate to tell you this but you're in a toxic relationship and i sincerely hope youre able to get out.

HELLO???????

i keep seeing people saying this shit and honestly i think it stems from the infantalization of humans. humans are capable of making decisions for themselves. do some vampires abuse their powers over humans? of course! but you cant assume that every single human vampire relationship (or sire and sired relationship for that matter) is some unhealthy power imbalance, especially when you dont even know them!!!

i think op is forgetting that humans can be just as harmful to vampires as they can be to humans. dont tell me you completely just forgot about the existence of vampire slayers

next thing you know op is gonna be saying that a hundred year age gap between fully fledged vampires is problematic
👻 corpsecourse Follow
it literally is. i dont care if you are a 1000 years old vampire, if your significant other is 100 years older than you they have more life experience than you. god you guys are stupid why dont you all step into a sunbeam

Is there anything I can do to help Palestinians besides call my representatives and beg them to stop killing people?
This is a great question. There are a few things you can do—just off the top of my head:
BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) https://bdsmovement.net/
Direct Action https://www.palestineaction.org/
Urge your University/School/Organization to put out a statement denouncing Israel
Organize a Protest/Participate in a local one
You might already be doing this but while calling your reps, tell them that as a voter, you're unwilling to support them in the upcoming election unless they urge the White House to take a stand against Israel and stop funding them
Share art/writing/films around Palestinian culture
If you're part of a union, ask them what they're doing to urge their industry leaders to take a stand against Israel + pressure the White House OR urge them to start a strike/walkout/etc if they're not doing anything already
Talk with your friends IRL about Palestine, whether in an activist capacity or watching a movie or literally anything
Reach out to a mosque to see if you can help them with anything
See if your city/state council has put out a statement in support of Gazans. If not, try to push them to do so.
Donate to Palestine Legal or Direct Action if you have some money to spare
KEEP TALKING ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know some of these don't feel like they have as big of an impact on helping Palestinians, but we do need to make an effort not to forget their humanity in the face of continued erasure and the media's sensationalist rhetoric.
Talking on social media and posting—while not seeming like a lot—does SO much. I know in USAmerica, it's like yelling into a void, but political analysts are saying that most of the "Global South" has completely lost any amount of goodwill it may have had the past few years. Hopefully, countries will start to put sanctions and embargoes en masse on the US and Israel soon.
Our goals here are BOTH short-term and long-term. We hope for the life and liberation of the Palestinian people, so anything that you can think of might help at some point in the future is encouraged to at least try.
If anyone else has any more ideas, feel free to reblog and add on. Thank you for asking, and here is to a liberated Palestine where Palestinians can live and thrive without fear.
