Konjiki No Moji Tsukai - Yuusha Yonin Ni Makikomareta Unique Cheat

Or: The Unique Cheat of The Man Dragged In By The Four Heroes

Genre: Fantasy isekai

Summary/plot: The MC was isekaied along with 4 other classmates. Unlike the others who had the title of “Hero”, the MC got the title “Innocent Bystander”. Even though he had the option to still travel with the others, the MC turned it down. Instead he sets out on his own with the help of his special Word Magic. Despite his poor attitude, he is still able to make acquaintances. Particularly with little girls, much to his chagrin. As he continues his journey a deeper conflict become apparent, that our MC finds himself pulled into.

Art Style: It’s pretty typical. Not bad, it’s actually quite good. It’s just that for well drawn manga, it doesn’t have any special style to set it apart in my opinion. People are nice, monsters are nice, and the environment is nice too.

Personal thoughts: The main thing that sets this manga apart from other isekai is the MC’s personality and view on the world. To be frank, he’s kind of a dick. The thing he wants to do most is read books, and he won’t help people unless he gets something out of it. That being said he does still seem to be a good person who wants to help others, it’s just blocked by an outer selfish layer. Like someone will ask for help from him and instead of just saying no and leaving he’ll ask for something and often just accept whatever is offered. Even if it seems disproportionate to what he is giving/doing in exchange. Otherwise pretty typical isekai stuff happens. Overpowered MC, evil organizations, humans are the baddies trope, the “actual hero” group fairs poorly trope, Beastfolk, demons, the works. I do think it has a good plot. There is a lot of “there is a problem and the MC just happens about and solves it” going on. I get the feel that the story is less about the MC and more about the events of the world. The MC is just there resolving the plot point of the arc.

The MC’s special magic is word magic. Basically he can write a word and the thing he writes happens. Of coarse being Japanese the one word is actually one Kanji. So he can write fire and a fire will start, or he can write heal and be healed. He eventually is able to advance it, writing more than one Kanji at a time (there is a good explanation of him power in chapter 16). And yes he can use words that make it completely broken. I’m not sure what the kickback on using more powerful words is other than MP drain, but it doesn’t seem to hurt him much.

The MC doesn’t stick with the same people throughout the manga. He leaves his first group after a good deal of chapters and ends up finding new people. He does reunite with them later so it’s not like they leave and you never see them again.

Characters:

Hiiro: Our MC, he is a not so trusting selfish asshole with a heart of gold, or maybe silver. I already gave some description of him above. As I said before he is mostly conserved with books and reading. Pretty fitting with his word magic. He does seem to want to help people in need, he is just nonchalant about it. Despite how poorly he treats others, he always seems to win them over after they get to know him and see past the cold outer shell that he never really drops. There are a lot of jokes that are him being indifferent with the people he is with despite them being courteous to him. An example is the others waiting for him to rest up and get some shut eye, while later when one of the others are tired just says they can wait there and he’ll just keep going. He also happens to have the ability to unwillingly attract lolis. They just like him for some reason. He even gets a title for it, “beloved by lolis” or something like that.

Arnold: A boisterous adventure and cook. He is an adult who is looking after Muir, a little girl. He plays the strait man and the one who gets picked on for a lot of the jokes, with the other side being Hiiro. He is otherwise a pretty levelheaded, responsible, and strong person. He also seems to adore little girls.

Muir: She is a loli beast girl. Her personality is pretty typical of “innocent loli”. She becomes fond of Hiiro for some reason. I mean sure he more or less nice to her but he’s still an ass. She has an “I want to get the power to help others” character development.

Wi: She is a girl that joins in a bit later in chapter 11. She is an air head. It’s like she was raised with very minimal social interaction. Not too good with communicating. She is looking for her dad who is a beastkin. She herself is a half breed of beastkin and human. She is also quite strong and can hold her own in a fight.

As I said before Hiiro does leave these guys at a point but for the first chunk of the manga these are the main people.

Other Info: As of 12/15/23 there are 102 chapters. They will take time to get through. You’ll also have to look at the boarders to find the translations of Hiiro’s work magic. It gets updated about once every 2 months or so. Once you get caught up you’ll probably be waiting around a bit for the next chapter.

All in all: I like this one. I can’t say I’m excited for every new chapter, but the plot is good enough that I come back. If the MC’s personality is something you don’t mind, you’ll probably enjoy it.

And when Four's ability to become four people becomes known, he just says that he thought they all knew as he told them when they first met and never explains any further leaving everyone confused as to when it was mentioned.

Yasunobu patted Haruo again on the back, nodded genteelly to both River and Bebe, gave River a hug and headed to his truck.

“Did you catch any of what the two of them were saying?” Bebe asked, giving River a comically confused look.

“Absolutely no idea.” River shrugged her shoulders.

“Are we both gonna have to learn Japanese?” Bebe asked.

“Probably” was River’s response.

お久しぶり its been a long time since ive done one of these!!!!! i stopped for a long time because 1. they take so long to put together and i think i was just burnt out, despite how much fun i was having, and 2. i hit a point where i was able to fly through a Lot of dialogue without having to stop and learn new pieces, so a good portion of dialogue in games started becoming a lot less like new adventures and a lot more mundane and normal feeling!! that has actually been a very special feeling and ive just been letting myself enjoy it, without jumping to make a breakdown post every 30 minutes

im definitely not at a point where i can play through games like final fantasy tactics, or like. 999. that would be the god mode of practicing japanese i think, thats like. you have to have a developed home-born and raised high school level understanding of japanese. like you dont NEED to be born and raised but thats the level of exposure you should expect to have in order to match that level

it HAS been a long time!!! i stopped playing games in japanese for a while. in the same way i got burnt out on making breakdown posts, i also got burnt out actively play-reading in japanese for at least a few months. at the time, it felt too wrong to just passively play-read for that period of time in retrospect though, i think thats wrong. input thats only getting passed through and not getting committed to memory still does more for your exposure than input that doesnt go in at all. i DID play a ton of kirby air ride in japanese in that period of time, so at least i like. REALLY know what まっすぐ means from all the drag race predictions

im playing majoras mask right now. i started playing on the switch in english and i got the energy to play in japanese, so i started a file on the computer (apparently the system language change doesnt work for the roms on the switch??). joeys playing fallout 4 a ton on the computer and im letting him since he gets less free time than i do and his work is a lot more physically taxing, so im a lot more ahead on the switch vs the computer (also the computer is just taking longer by virtue of me looking up words and shit in the jp dictionary every 20 seconds); i just got the lens of truth and the goron mask in english while im Still on the very first 3 day cycle in japanese

i dont know how many more of these ill be doing in the near future!! they DO take a long time. if i find a box of dialogue or boxes of dialogue that really Grab me, ill be here

I've read the first 26 chapters and my conclusion is as follows: This is a mediocre shonen action adventure fantasy story. Let's start with the best part, the main character. Thanks to his cool demeanor and very pragmatic worldview he is a notch better than his peers, even though he is nothing really special. At least the story spends some time fleshing out his character. Initially his arrogant attitude and constant childish bickering with Arnold one of his companions were rather aggravating, but this issue seems to be coming up less as the story goes on, which The same however can't be said for his companions, who are really a run of the mill bunch, not necessarily bad, but not good either. Even though the manga has a half decent cast, there is just no chemistry between them. There is Arnold and Muir's father-daughter relationship, which is fine, there is the Mc and Arnold's constant bickering, which is just annoying, Wi's blunt affection for the Mc, which is just obvious fanservice, Muir's strive for self-betterment and her envy and embarrassment over Wi's bluntness is mostly kept to herself, and there is Arnold's pervertedness, which is just being played to make the same joke over and over again, and I basically listed all the character dynamics. Although which of these are dynamics and which are simple gimmicks, is up for debate. There is just no meaningful character interaction or banter between them. And I personally wouldn't mind some more small talk, if it's entertaining or gives to the characters, even a little. The biggest problem with the manga is the story. Namely that it is just rather boring, well not exactly boring, it is that nothing of real significance happens, just basic fantasy stuff. To put it simply it's just not a particularly exciting read. Not to mention that when things actually happen, it is mostly delivered in a very convenient, contrived manner. And just when the story starts to get better the plot pulls out the secret synonymous with asspull powerup card. I wasn't bothered much with its presentation, rather with the fact that the manga managed to trip on another genre trapping. Whenever the story shows any signs of promise a convenient plot point happens, or someone says something out of character, just to revert back to normal within a couple of sentences, and this really holds the whole thing back. It's also worth a mention that the manga has some fanservice, not too much to turn down those who don't like it, but enough to entertain those who do. That seems to be the thing, the manga just really hits the middle of the road with whatever it does. While I would be lying if I said the manga didn't get any better during its runtime, whether that's actually worth the wait however, is up for debate. Since I can't say that it was completely unenjoyable, and since this is the beginning of the story I am willing to give it some slack. Read more. Show less. If you are looking for a manga in which the main character is sent into another world you might enjoy this one. The main character while not unique, is different from your average easy going main characters. He is very smart; anti social and arrogant, he doesn't want to help others if he doesn't gets compensation for it. However he always finds some sort of benefit for ending up saving the ones really in need. This manga seems to have many nicely implemented manga references such as Log Horizon when the MC face is all dark but you can clearly see his glasses , Shokugeki no Souma The MC ventures alone in a RPG like fantasy world and while he only wants to be alone he soon finds himself surrounded by people that took a liking to him. It's not original but that's not always a bad thing. However their development is existent and at a fine pace. As I said above there are only 8 translated chapters yet so don't take this number seriously. The not usual main character personality gives this otherwise a boring manga a nice twist. While so far it's far from being a masterpiece, it's also far from being a bad manga. If you read this review then you probably should give this manga a try. PS: This is my first review so apologies for any mistakes and for my bad english. I just felt the urge to review it because the only other review made by Ugoki shouldn't be considered a review in the first place. I honestly doubt he read more than the first 2 chapters probably just the first one because everything he said is complete BS. I will update this review as more translated chapters are released. Every character in the series can be summed up in two sentences: "I'm an orphan who underwent trauma. Further discussion would be spoilers so lets leave it at that. Finally: There are themes of racism, which I wholeheartedly hate as to its management within the story, and there are themes of rape, which is treated as a joke. Now as to what I liked: The ability of the MC would be cool, if he actually used it in a creative fashion. The world of the story seems decent. The MC was clever for a whole five chapters.
