#yogahollis . . Viparita Karani Legs Up The Wall Pose . Today’s post is a continuation of my previous post where I am in Viparita Karani. There, I’m using a bolster to add some weight to weigh down my legs. In this pose, I’m in a CrossFit box, where I’ve placed an a mat and dumbbells on the YogiAthletes legs to give the appropriate weight to help release tension in the lower back. Also, added weight presses the femur bones into the hip socket and helps release the Illio psoas too. Sandbags are also good to use. All athletes and non-athletes should give this restorative pose a shot. You’ll thank me! 😀🙏🏾🧘🏾‍♂️🤗 . If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. . . . . . #viparitakarani #legsupthewall #restorativeyoga #asana #yoga #athletic #athleticyoga #yogaforathletes #yogiathlete #crossfityoga #yogacrossfit #fitness #healthylifestyle #nycyoga #nycfitness #yoganyc (à New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9Oun2vDOsL/?igshid=rg3ea73w6q7x

For day 26 of #stereotypicalyogis we have Amir also know as @yogiathlete • • • Yoga became apart of my life after college, when I pursued my football career. It was one of the best decision I ever made for myself. Yoga healed my body while playing the most gladiator sport of this era. I did not realize how beat up my body was until I started to take yoga. I also did not know how unaware of my body I was and being an athlete that is the biggest priority. So I became consistent in my yoga practice and over the years became more flexible, agile, and mobile in my training. I became more alert, aware and more present of my body from the inside out. After I seen the benefits I wanted to pass this onto other athletes, which I knew that they would also benefit from. My main goal now is to work with high school, college and professional athletes. I am also a yoga recreational instructor, which means I work for the city of Los Angeles, for Rec and Parks in my Los Angeles community. I am also working on the process of having a yoga studio for athletes in Redondo Beach area. • • • for this round of #stereotypicalyogis I'll be showcasing black/brown men who practice yoga because they are more rare than black females who do yoga and I feel that it is important to really put them in the spotlight to let people know that they do exist and what better time to do it than February? #rwyoga #blessup
