Let me see... There was this certain Yosuke Hanamura rper... Oh gosh it is on the tip of my tongue....  Someone that goes by idk... Earth? Water? Oh, right. Air.  Back at @kingressentiment and then at @kibougokai . Yup, it was great fun.  Another one that was very important and dear to me and I’m so grateful they stuck with me to this day is Kay, currently at @mistermxrgan . I loved our time back at the TWAU fandom and writing together. I learned a lot both as a write and as a person.  I also owe Yoly a lot, idk where she is nowadays but a big shootout to @animamachine and @ignisacglacies​ . I could possibly tag her personal too but idk if she would like that. I first met her back in the ygo fandom and we met again after 4 or 5 years and we clicked again, it was amazing. Recently, I would like to thanks the wonderful Rae, @more-than-a-princess​  , for sticking with me. She is such an inspiring person, the love she puts in her craft is simply astounding. I do my best to keep up with her and I’m very grateful for her patience and being such a wonderful partner.

Tales of a Duelist Roleplay Rules!

1. Must be Semi-literate. I don’t care if your first language is or isn’t English, just please try to write correctly. I understand some mistakes, so don’t be nervous. If it makes sense to me then I’m not going to be super uptight about this.

2. Please write more than one or two sentences. Give details. The more you write, the more I have to work with. I will do the same for you.

3. 3rd person only PLEASE!

4. OCs are almost always welcome! Shoot me a DM first so we can chat about your character or refer me to an OC page. 

5. I would seriously love to plot everything out before we start, but sometimes depending on the situation it is better to just wing it. Either way let's talk about it first!

6. I will only roleplay with 18+ ONLY!!!! 

7. I completely understand taking breaks and writer's block. If you are going to be gone, please let me know.

what is your special talent/skill as a roleplayer?  I’m not sure if it counts as special talent or skill, but when I’m like motivated for a thread I can reply rather fast? I’m rather spontaneous when it comes to new AU’s or situations and I tend to explore everything. 

why did you pick your muse? Because I was tempted to. And eventually I came to realize that Yusaku and I are a lot alike and it’s not only fun to write him but also rather comforting? 

if you could write any other muse - but know you don’t have the muse for him/her - who would it be? ... first of all, I write almost all other muses over on linkedvrains  : / but besides that? I guess I’m still crying over my Yuto blog, cause I really love that boy but I never got his character like... I don’t even know what I was doing at that time ? Also I’m tempted to throw out Kusanagi Izumo next to Tatara but : ////  

what would be your warning label to other roleplayers? Angst queen and if you think it can’t get worse there’s always a 50% possibility of me just making things worse. Also I’m replying either within minutes or I need weeks. I react highly emotional depending on the current state I’m in

what is your senpai blog? I’m not sure if I had such a blog in the ygo rpc, but I had a few senpai’s back in op rpc. Sadly those people aren’t around anymore but I never forgot about them.

Funny thing is originally I like Malik ( Hikari ) more than Marik, mostly because the not even 10-year-old me was HORRIFIED by Marik--still creepy despite being how bland and overexaggerated American Marik was. I still really liked Marik, but it was more of a being disturbed kind of awe. As a kid my siblings and I always did our own sort of LARP and my sister and I liked to cause pain of Jou getting with Malik only for Marik to possess and take over.      Eventually over time as I got older ( and my fascination and enjoyment of horror themes started up ) I went more to rping Marik. Had my first time with him being like how Atem was for Yugi. Then fell out of interest. Que about a year ago a mutual on my Xemnas blog mentioned YGO Abridged and I ended up looking at that again ( Despite how much Marik hates it, I do enjoy Melvin) and then also discovered the Japanese Sub and Manga. So, those two things inspired me to add Marik over on my old multimuse, and also since Ra is a dirty lover of having inhuman muses and creating creature designs, added on to him being a shadow creature and then when he got his own blog back in August, the Nightmare form.      So honestly there’s mostly the childhood like of him and the morbid fascination I have with horror themes that made me choose to rp Marik c:

10: What do you love to hate-watch?      I had to actually look up what this means so that pretty much tells you I don’t do it rip. But if I don’t like something, I’m not going to be watching it again. I really don’t find things that I dislike that fun to watch even if it’s to make fun of it--just not something I enjoy.

54: What advice would you give to a new roleplayer?      DON’T STRESS ABOUT IT! Don’t think that you have to please everyone or change your muse to fit with what others want. If you want to rp an asshole, do it--just make sure to have boundaries when it comes to triggers of other people and TAG TRIGGERS! If you want to rp a nicer character? Go for it. Don’t stress about making other people happy otherwise you yourself will never be happy. Don’t try to please people either, it’s going to end up hurting you more than helping. Rp is a hobby and a fun thing to do, not a job! Step back if needed and please COMMUNICATE with others! Passive aggressiveness is NOT the way to go.

📝 for a rule you think is important when it comes to role playing

❖ One of the rules I think is super important when it comes to RP is not forcing stuff onto your writing partners, as well as godmodding/infomodding.  Honestly, you would think that those things would be so frowned upon in the RPC that no one would ever do those things, but sadly I still see people forcing their muses or ships onto other RPers, and while I thankfully haven’t dealt with any godmodding/infomodding in the YGO RPC, I’ve RPed characters before that have information that is not known to the general public, but I’d have other people talk about that information like my muse told them that?  Not cool guys, not cool.           Just. . . don’t force stuff onto your writing partners and don’t do stupid shit like have your character know information that they shouldn’t know.

💞 for your policy on pre-established relationships with your muse(s)

❖ So there’s like, two parts to this question.  Part one: canon-wise, if my muse doesn’t have any connection to yours, then we aren’t starting off like there is a connection.  I know for this blog in particular, Yuusaku’s social circle is small as hell, so there really isn’t any room for pre-established relationships, and I’m not interested in making pre-established connections for what’s prior to canon.  But that’s strictly within the canon timeline.         AU-wise, I’m fine with being approached OOC for pre-established relationships, romantic or otherwise.  But we must plot it out.  In any scenario, if someone tries to establish a relationship without my consent, I’ll ignore it all.

🐶 for a role play related pet peeve

❖ God this happened to me once and I continue to see it happen to others, but when OCs try to force a connection with mine is the hugest pet peeve, and I will not change my mind on this.  Look, OCs are cool and great, but if their entire backstory, either by default or for a specific verse, majorly feature a canon character, that’s not good in my books.  By doing that, the canon character in question’s mun is being pressured to comply to that OC’s backstory, and that is forcing something onto another person.          Like, when I remember this one instance where there was an OC who was made to be the sister of the character I played, and back in my early days, I was rather lax and allowed that to happen.  But then that “sister” started spouting things that my muse never told her, and the mun’s response?  “He would have told his big sister all of this stuff already.”  No, he wouldn’t have, and that mun was both godmodding and infomodding about sensitive information.          And sadly, I still continue to see OCs do this sort of stuff, tho thankfully it’s not to me.  But it does happen to my friends, and that is still grating as fuck.

📝 for a rule you think is important when it comes to role playing

❖ Hm, another rule that’s important to roleplay in my opinion is that there should be a clear boundary between fiction and real life.  Like, I have my stance on that “discourse” that frankly I won’t go into, but as roleplayers, we gotta make sure that our feelings OOC don’t translate over to IC in harmful ways.  I don’t necessarily mean that if a mun is having a bad day, their muse can’t have a bad day either.  The main situation I’ve seen this line crossed is when a mun is jealous that their writing partner is writing with others or shipping with other people, and thus their muse reacts.  I’ve both seen and have had that happen to me; for instance, I was writing a ship with a friend ( now QPP ), and this other mun who also shipped with them got jealous and made their muse go after mine for “stealing her boyfriend”.  Like, mulitverse exists for a reason, don’t cross those lines FFS.   

🔍 for something you look for on other’s blogs

❖ Something that I look for on blogs is the mun’s age.  Whether it be their rules or a mun page, I am insanely more comfortable knowing whether or not that person is over the age of 18 or not.  Nothing against minors in the RPC, but after a certain ordeal that occurred in my last fandom, I really don’t feel comfortable not knowing the ages of my potential writing partners.  While I don’t talk NSFW with just anyone, I don’t want to be met with NSFW from someone and later find out that they’re 14 or 15.  It’s already happened to me once, and it won’t happen to me again.
