I wrote recently about how Monster Reborn is important to Kaiba, but I also wanna talk about how HUGE Monster Reborn is for Yuugi and Atem. The first time the card is used in the show, Yami is symbolically reviving Seto, which is noteworthy for the Blue Eyes Boy, but it also shows Atem's growth. He's famously brutal in Season Zero, culminating in his applying a spiritual lobotomy to Seto in Season One. Using Monster Reborn to revive Seto is a sort of apology, fixing some of his Justice gone overboard. That tempering of wrath is Yuugi's influence, as the necessary opposite to Atem giving Yuugi the confidence to stand up for himself.

But that's not even the coolest thing Yuugi/Atem/Kaiba's does with Monster Reborn!!! I really want to talk about how the spell card is used during the finale, in the Yami/Yuugi final duel. Duelists use the spell often because it's the original recover card, and this show lives on comebacks. It's the card that literally lets friends come back. In the final duel, Yuugi has to let Monster Reborn go.

What happens is this: Atem goes to play Monster Reborn, to revive Slifer the Sky Dragon, the God Card he earned first, to swing for game, and Yuugi negates it. But he doesn't just use something like Magic Jammer or Solemn Judgement. He uses Gold Sarcophagus, a spell based on the very box that used to house the pieces of the Millenium Puzzle, and now the cards most precious to Yami and Yuugi. The spell card works like this: Yuugi places a card in it by banishing it, removing it from this world. And then, if Yami ever plays that same card, his copy is negated. This card only works if Yuugi knows how Atem is going to play, if Yuugi can see his very soul. And of course he can. They're soulmates. And even though the Pharaoh is precious to him, Yuugi has to stop his revival, to remove him from this world. Let him go. Yuugi has become confident and Atem has become merciful.

This is the Yugioh storytelling at it's best, not a vehicle for cardgames, and not ignoring them either. The duels as a look into the duelists, and their actions in game affecting and reflecting the outside world.

I want to officially welcome any and all willing writers, artists, or fan content creators in general to the prompt list for 2023! Pick one, two, or whatever fits your vision for the week.

This year was built around the Seven-Part Story Structure with the rises and falls that come with plot, as well as internal conflict. This is to give the option of creating one coherent narrative if so desired. If that doesn't strike your fancy, you may do one independent piece each day. Tis the season for creativity!

Let's finish out 2023 with a bang and a little bit of everything that makes fan content so much fun!

Welcome to the 'Ass Kicked by Gandora' club

Anytime I think of  Gandora’s first reveal I keep laughing at Y. Bakura’s reaction, he looks so scared and shocked and we never talk about it.

Also I assume they never talked about it so I imagine Atem being clueless at how much ass Yugi kicked using Gandora.

Best team ever.

Atem blinked twice before bringing a hand up to cover his mouth as he laughed. This man was truly something else. To the average person, they would think he was boasting. But that was just it. He was, but in the most modest way possible. The best part? He might not even know it. How could a man such as the all powerful Seto Kaiba just calmly say things like that to ease his worried heart? Atem just shook his head and looked back at the jet. 

“You may think it is silly, but the last time I was in that jet, things didn’t go so well.” recalling his time he had runned off a building with Kaiba into it just to have it crash to the ground moments later. He took a moment to look back over at the taller man, his eyes on stunning blue ones. 

“Is there anything you can’t do?” he teased before laughing softly again, licking his lips unconsciously. 

“Also…” he started, recalling what he had mentioned earlier about having particular tastes.

“Besides Mokuba of course, who else has ridden in that jet? And- what makes me worthy of it?”

Atem took note of Kaiba’s eyes on their hands. It was a simple gesture, but not one that didn’t go unnoticed. Was the taller man not used to physical touch? Given his circumstances it was probably true, not that Atem was any expert in the field himself. The Pharaoh was glad that their skin on skin contact was something Kaiba didn’t necessarily shy away from. He half expected the other to dismiss it completely, but to his surprise he has opened up to it. That reassuring thought was enough to make his heart swell. 

Moments later Atem was caught off guard in a surprise. Seto Kaiba, the richest man in all of Domino, and probably the greater part of the world, didn’t have sutors? People fawning over him? Well, given who he was talking about Kaiba didn’t really give off that type of charisma. He was harsh, blunt, and cold to some, but for Atem, Seto Kaiba had always been a rival, a friend, someone who pushed him to do better. To be better than his present self. And now Atem might even call him a lover. He raised an intriguing eyebrow at the thought. 

“I surprisingly find that hard to believe. But I suppose that is rather good news for me.” he simply said with a smile. 

“I don’t think I’ve ever tasted such a dish before. If it is something you enjoy then I would be happy to try it.” Atem would be lying if he said that he wasn’t excited to try out new food. Sure all the burgers and japanese style food he had eaten in the past was great, but something about a food picked out by Kaiba himself made him almost giddy. 

At that moment Atem looked out the window of the lavis car and noticed a bright blue eyes jet coming into view. Sure he had seen the jet many times before, but this time he’d be riding inside it. He wasn’t scared, no that wasn’t the right word. Nervous. Yes.

His eyes grew wide and jelously raged his tiny body.

"No fair! I've been grinding for months and I haven't gotten anything close to that!" his cheeks puffed out in frustration.

"I swear you are the luckest gamer in the world."

He knew Yugi liked to tease him, but this was going too far. He clenched his jaw as he cursed under his breath before placing both hands oh the others waist before fully grinding into him. Both their hard one rubbing against one another. Atem could help but throw his head back for a moment at the pleasure of it all.

A second later he was grabbing at the others shirt….helping his partner out of his before he took a peaked nipple into his mouth.

Atem hummed softly as his tongue licked at her folds. Enjoying the sweetness dripping off her like a waterfall.

“The gods have blessed you in more ways than one my dear.” He said has his breath glazed over her entrance. He kissed her inner tight as he gently pushed one finger inside.

“I’m afraid I can be very persuasive. Ruling a kingdom has taught me a thing for two”.

Atem couldn’t help but cock an eyebrow. His Aibou had always been a tease and today he realized was no different. The King hummed and licked at the others bottom lip before gliding it down the others neck, finding his soft stop where his neck meets collarbone. He nips and sucked at the spot while pressing his hips against his partners. A small moan escaping his lips again.

“Have mercy on me Aibou” he teased as the king grinned his hips hard against the others

Atem couldn’t help but crock his neck when his Queen pulled at his hair. He licked his lips at the sight of her. He then determined that the wall wasn’t good enough so he quickly grabbed her bridal style before carrying her to his bed.

“Prepare yourself.” He said simply as he threw her on the bed before plunging between her tights. His sweetness on his tongue in seconds, lapping up her wetness that left him hard.

The pharaoh couldn’t help but moan into the others mouth as Athena spoke his name. His hands began to roam across his body, not being able to control himself as he slipped a hand under her dress, brushing against her thighs.

“Athena…” was all he could get out before he found the softness of her before teasing her with his fingers.
