Rhaenyra and Daemon were looking forward to the arrival of their first child. Daemon already had two daughters and Rhaenyra her three precious boys, but they were very eager for the first fruit of their marriage to be born.

The day Rhaenyra gave birth to you was one of the happiest memories of her life. The pain of childbirth was excruciating, but when she could hold you in her arms, it was all worth it.

Daemon actually sobbed when he held you for the first time. You were so small, so innocent and so perfect. He swore to himself that he would do anything to be good to you. You would be loved and adored forever.

They are both extremely overprotective and possessive over you. You are their child, you belong to them, so you should not associate with anyone they do not approve of.

Any friends you may have will be investigated by Daemon and if he finds anything that displeases him, that friend will disappear from your life. He is not objective, if that person's great-grandfather was an bastard, for example, that means they will never be good to you. And you deserve only the best.

Rhaenyra not only agrees with this, but encourages her uncle-husband's actions. You are her baby, the most precious person in her life and she only wants the best for you. She will give you the best, she knows what is good for you. After all, mom always knows best, right?

Your older siblings would also have developed their own obsession with you, encouraged by their parents. It didn't take long for the Velaryon brothers and Daemon's daughters to become completely attached to you.

You were not only your parents' obsession, but also your siblings, meaning you can bet no harm would be done to you. You were spoiled and protected, the apple of everyone's eye in Dragonstone.

Whatever you want, you will have. Rhaenyra and Daemon are completely soft when it comes to disciplining you, just one puppy look and they will forget everything. You are their child, you could do no wrong in their eyes.

Everyone is instructed to spoil and protect you, the servants, the guards and your brothers will do so willingly too.

Daemon is very possessive, he feels entitled to you because you are his child. He will kill anyone who looks, says, or even breathes wrong at you. There's no way he's going to let anything happen to you.

Rhaenyra is more controlled, but she is still a dragon and you should never mess with a dragon's offspring. She loses all her senses, her reason when something happens to you. Even if it's a paper cut, she will go into a frenzy of rage.

Any love interests or suitors will also be dealt with quickly. They won't allow you to get married, no one will ever be good enough for you.

If something were to happen to you, gods be good, for the true fury of the Targaryens would be revealed. They will burn, kill and destroy everything in their path for you. All that matters is you, the war will be forgotten by you.

And when it was just ashes and the smell of blood and death was in the air, they would be satisfied. Daemon and Rhaenyra will go to extremes for you. You are their baby and no one, absolutely no one, can change that.

Daemon and Rhaenyra will not lose anyone else, not their child. And when the war for the Iron Throne begins, you would be locked in and protected the entire time. Your parents love you and would do anything, but they don't know boundaries or privacy. It doesn't matter, after all, they are your parents.

So we have seen Joanna lookalike, what about Aemma lookalike? Like one of Rhaenyra’s kids looks exactly like Aemma? How would everyone react?

I think I have another ask related to something similar with an Aemma!lookalike!Reader. I have two ways I imagine the Aemma!lookalike!Reader taking place; one with Rhaenyra being the mother and Aemma!lookalike!Reader being the only Targaryen looking child out of the Strong kids, or Aemma!lookalike!Reader being the child of Viserys and Alicent? I just can’t help but imagine how Alicent would be after giving birth to the reincarnation of the woman whose place she took over. Like, on one hand this is her baby, the child she bore but on the other it is a part of Viserys’ late wife who she hates being compared to or hearing about anymore.

I also like to imagine how the dynamic with Alicent and Rhaenyra would go in the scanario that Aemma!lookalike!Reader is born to Alicent. I feel like yan!mom!Alicent and yan!sis!Rhaenyra would kind of use the Reader as a peacekeeper between them, even going as far as to betroth the Reader to Jace or Luke to assure the two sides stay on good terms. Only both women get a little too greedy. One’s intense motherly nature takes over and the other one’s desperate need to have the closet thing to her mother back in her life (especially after Viserys’ death) leads to a tug of war that literally breeds into full blown war. Either way it gets messy and what had started out as keeping the two women together and bonded ended up tearing them apart respectively.

In regards to your actual question though, Viserys and Rhaenyra are going to be the ones who this will hit harder than anyone. They will absolutely coddle the hell out of Aemma!lookalike!Reader. They both lost her once before, they aren’t going to lose her again. Overprotective would be understatement, the father and daughter will reach new heights regarding how intensely protective they are of the Reader. Like I said earlier, I imagine Aemma!lookalike!Reader being the only Targaryen looking child out of the Strong children, either being the first born or even Jace or Luke’s twin. Either way, the Reader would be the only Strong child that Alicent would accept or take as being trueborn given their appearance. So Rhaenyra wouldn’t really have to worry about the Reader being rumored to be a bastard and even so, Viserys would be much quicker to act/punish and wouldn’t take lightly to the Reader being even so much as thought as a bastard.

I could wholeheartedly see Viserys wanting to marry the Reader to Aegon or Aemond, even Daeron if need be. In doing so it would be him wanting to recreate what he and Aemma had together but with the Reader and one of his children. But Rhaenyra would of course be highly against it. Mainly to protect the only chance she has to having her mother with her again but also because she wouldn’t want her child to marry at all, let alone with one of Alicent’s children. And that’s just because she doesn’t want to hand off her child to anyone at all.

I feel Daemon wouldn’t have too much of a reaction but seeing how intense Viserys and Rhaenyra are about the Reader, Daemon would lookout for and protect them. Especially seeing how immensely joyous both his brother and Rhaenyra are have a piece of Aemma back in their lives. Eventually with time and how much Rhaenyra and his brother talk and talk about the Reader and how much time he spends with them himself or is at least around them, their attachment would surely rub off on him, only he’ll take it to greater lengths. Especially regarding the overprotective part. Not to mention how much he’ll fuel and encourage Rhaenyra’s and Viserys’ already intense obsessions.

I feel like Alicent may feel threatened at first. Not so much for herself but rather for her children. Rhaenyra’s already received much more attention from Viserys than any of her own children with him have, so to have Aemma!lookalike!Reader now would just make her worry. She may even resent the Reader for looking like Aemma, having her own personal gripes about them, especially having to listen to Viserys drone on and on about the Reader. Talking so excitedly, eyes shining like she’s never seen before. If she were to grow attached or even obsessed with Aemma!lookalike!Reader it would happen completely out of nowhere. By the time Alicent realized it would already be too late. The big thing I see happening though is Alicent encouraging Viserys to have the Reader marry one of their children, taking them away from Rhaenyra completely.

I feel like all the children are going to have a mix of their parents’ obsession as well as their own attachments. Especially if Aemma!lookalike!Reader tries to be involved with Alicent’s children, like befriending and growing close to them. I think Helaena and the Reader would be the absolute best of friends. The Reader always being there for Helaena, listening to the odd things she says and being there for her when it becomes to much to bare for her. Helaena just taking absolute comfort in the Reader, especially when they handle her so gently and maternally.

I feel like Aegon wouldn’t pay too much mind to the Reader at first, until everyone around him just keeps talking about them. As if they’re something to be worshipped. He’d resent them for all the attention they get, especially from his mother and father. I could see him thinking of doing something cruel, even going as far and acting it out on the Reader, you know to knock them down to size, to make them feel the complete opposite of how everyone else makes them out to be. Only for the Reader to give him what he’s never really had before: the lack of care, attention, even love that he’s received from either his mother and father, it’s something he’s craved and to get even a sliver of that from someone else could be addictive.

Given how Alicent and Helaena have grown as attached to the Reader as they have, I think that would greatly influence how Aemond took to them. Like, when he didn’t have a dragon and the boys were all teasing him, if Aemma!lookalike!Reader were to have stepped in to stop them or get after them for doing would have been something for him. But if they were to seek him out, having him spend time with them and their own dragon, assuring him that he’ll get his own soon enough with time and patience and overall just believing in him, I think that would really mean something to him. Now, when the whole stealing Vhagar and losing an eye/overall fight thing happens then that’s when his attachment grows more intense. Especially if Rhaenyra, Viserys and Daemon were adamant about the Reader staying far away from him afterwards, just to ensure their safety. Once they’ve taken away what he saw as his one true friend, Aemond would be holding a grudge. One that can go out of control at any time and boy does it.

It wouldn’t matter where in their life Aemma!lookalike comes into their lives, Jace, Luke and Joffrey would all be just as overprotective of their sibling as everyone else is. Rhaenyra would greatly encourage her children to love, adore, admire, and protect the Reader. And they do, to great lengths. They’ll be their mother’s eyes and ears when she’s not around, not to mention at least one of the boys is always with them at any given time. And one Daemon marries Rhaenyra and Baela and Laena are in the picture they’ll be just devoted to sticking to and following the Reader. Wherever the boys can’t follow Aemma!lookalike!Reader, the girls will be there to take over.

Also, I feel like out of all the dragons Syrax would be especially attached to the Reader given Rhaenyra’s intensity regarding them. Nothing’s stronger than a mother’s love after all.

Rhaenyra and Laenor have always gotten along well, although not so close, they were always friendly with each other and even came to an agreement after their marriage. They would live their own lives and be free to love someone else.

The few times they slept together were not for pleasure, but to try to conceive an heir. And it worked, when Rhaenyra discovered she was pregnant just a few months after her wedding, much to everyone's delight.

You were the only child born of their marriage, well, at least the only legitimate one. There was no doubt about your legitimacy, since you were a copy of your father when you were born and became more like your mother as you grew up.

They loved you unconditionally, there are not enough words to describe how much they love you. They say you never love anything on the world the way you love your first child and that's true when it comes to your parents. They love all of their other children, but it's pretty clear how attached they are and favor you more than anyone else.

Laenor is the most attached to you, however, as you were his child. Really his. And although he loved your brothers who were born after you, there was no doubt that he preferred you above them all. You were the apple of your father's eye, you could never do anything wrong in his eyes and he will fight anyone who says otherwise.

Rhaenyra loved you with all her heart, the first moment she placed you in her arms for the first time was like a blessing, a gift from the gods old and new. You were her precious, her most precious treasure and nothing and no one will take you away from her. No one steals what belongs to a dragon and gets away with it.

You were not only spoiled and loved by your parents, but also by your grandparents. Rhaenys and Corlys adored you, simple as that, they spoil you more than anyone and always take you to Driftmark when Rhaenyra allows it. Corlys always makes a point of reminding you of your heritage, that you are a Velaryon, and Rhaenys tries to participate as much as possible in your upbringing.

Viserys loved you deeply too, considering that you are his first grandchild and he tries his best to be present in your life. He would often pick you up and sit with you on the Iron Throne, reminding you that one day everything would be yours. And he doesn't even try to hide his favoritism. He knew that if Aemma was still alive, she would love you as much as he does.

Alicent was excessively attached to you too, and although she had grandchildren of her own, she didn't even try to hide how much she preferred your company. Although she has no patience for children, she loves you with all her heart and strongly believes that Rhaenyra is not a good mother for you, a belief that became stronger after the birth of Jacaerys. Otto encourages Alicent's tendencies while cultivating his.

You were the example for your younger brothers, Jacaerys, being the second child, is the clingiest and most protective towards you. He had you first, so you were his first. Lucerys is extremely possessive of your attention and sulks when others get it. Joffrey is the baby and the youngest and so he wants to receive more attention from you.

Your aunt and uncles were very close to you, mainly due to age and because of Alicent's encouragement, who was always sure that you would grow up surrounded by her children.

Aegon is very emotionally dependent on you and is almost always leaning around you, looking for comfort. Helaena loves you with all her heart, she wants to be by your side all the time and she trusts you completely. Aemond is the closest to you, always seeking comfort and confirmation from you, he wants to impress you at any cost. You didn't spend as much time with Daeron, but he misses you and cherishes the memories he has with you.

You were the anchor of your family after the years passed, the only person capable of bringing them all together. Viserys and you had this in common, the desire to reunite the family and you managed it, although it never lasted for long.

All servants were instructed to do your whims and desires. Laenor and Rhaenyra are extremely protective of you and suspicious of anyone who approaches you, especially if it is one of the Greens.

You loved your family, you really loved them, but sometimes all you wanted was to be free from so much pressure. You found fun and ''freedom'' in associating more with your great-uncle, Daemon, who was always taking you away with him, causing your parents to panic. You always came back unscathed, though.

However, you knew you would have to choose a side. After Aemond's mutilation, you found yourself at an impasse when your father sneaked into your room that night and asked you to run away with him. Running away with him means you would be free from your burdens, but the conflict would never stop and would only escalate.

You didn't have any more time. You had to choose between running away with Laenor and escaping the war or staying with Rhaenyra and dealing with the conflicts between the Blacks and the Greens, as well as your overwhelming and possessive family.

Choosing between your father and mother was never something you thought you would do, until this day. The thought of never being able to see Rhaenyra again and hear her reading to you or never seeing your father teaching you how to fight again filled you with fear and anguish. You knew what you had to do, but could you bear the consequences of your choice?

Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen's screams could be heard throughout most of the Red Keep.

The princess had gone into labor over two hours ago and everyone was looking forward to the birth of Rhaenyra and Laenor's first child. Even though some had different motives and some were more selfish than others, anxiety could still be felt.

After what seemed like days of excruciating pain, a loud sound of crying was heard inside Rhaenyra's room.

''Shh...'' Rhaenyra whispered to the crying baby in her arms, trying to calm them down. She had no experience with this, however, this was her first child.

But she loved them. Oh, and how she loved them. Rhaenyra never thought she could love someone as much as she loved her child the first moment she held them in her arms.

She knew she would do anything for them.

Laenor entered the room at the exact moment the baby finally stopped crying and was about to fall asleep. Rhaenyra looked at him sternly and her husband was silent.

He approached silently and Rhaenyra handed him the baby.

''They are beautiful.'' Laenor whispered, moved. They looked exactly like their parents, the very definition of a valyrian. A few silver strands, its father's nose, its mother's skin, and beautiful dark purple eyes when they opened their eyes for the first time.

''They are.'' Rhaenyra confirmed, sitting down again. She was very tired and wanted to rest for a while.

''What's their name?'' Laenor murmured, looking fondly at the baby in his arms. So perfect, his child was so perfect.

Rhaenyra thought for a few minutes and then smiled, ''(Y/N) Targaryen.''

Laenor faced his wife and smiled in agreement, ''(Y/N) Velaryon.''

Rhaenyra smiled at her husband. Yes, Velaryon and Targaryen. It didn't really matter as this child was the product of both sides and she knew she would care for and protect them no matter what.

It's okay, Alicent would never dare do something with so many witnesses. Rhaenyra's shoulders relaxed a little but there was a tension present.

Alicent rocked the baby in her arms lovingly, smiling at them. They were beautiful, she thought. A pang of envy rose within the Queen. She wanted (Y/N) to be hers.

Rhaenys watched Alicent carefully and Corlys looked suspicious. The Queen was forced to retreat.

"I need to go see Aegon." Alicent stated to no one in particular, "But I will visit (Y/N) again with Viserys later."

Rhaenyra's only response was a slight nod, but she wasn't really paying attention.

Under the watchful eyes of the three Velaryon's present, Alicent left the room with hesitation and disgust.

As you grew, everything changed and it wasn't just your growth.

But family intrigues.

You had been the only legitimate child of the marriage of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon.

Everyone knew that Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey were bastards and sons of Harwin Strong. There was no denying it, not when you were Laenor's legitimate child, not when you looked exactly like him.

Not even Viserys had any arguments for that. And Alicent, Criston and Otto always made sure of reminding Rhaenyra about this.

Jacaerys' birth was a stab in the chest for Rhaenys and Corlys. And a triumph for Alicent.

And you always agreed with that. Many of the fights that occurred you had to get involved in to separate both sides and as you grew up, you noticed it even more.

You realized that your family would never truly be reunited. And you found that out the hard way.

It was during the funeral of Laena Velaryon, your late aunt. You didn't spend much time with her but you felt sad. You stayed close to your grandparents and your father the whole time, trying to comfort them for the loss of their daughter and sister. They felt immensely grateful to have you there.

You have finally met your great-uncle, the infamous Daemon Targaryen. The Rogue Prince.

He was everything the stories said. You felt uncomfortable with his strange looks in your direction and clung even tighter to your father who noticed Daemon's looks.

Laenor looked at Daemon suspiciously and pulled you away. Neither you nor your father noticed Daemon's eyes darken.

You lay in your room, trying to fall asleep when you were called to Driftmark's main hall after an accident involving your uncles and brothers. It wasn't until you found out what happened to Aemond that you knew all was lost.

You gasped in horror when you saw Aemond's face. Mutilated and missing an eye.

You approached him, under the burning gazes of those present. Alicent was furious and Viserys did nothing.

Your heart skipped a beat when Alicent stole Viserys' dagger and stormed off to try and gouge out Lucerys's eye in revenge. Your mother got in front and she was cut off.

You watched in horror at the cut and the way the blood dripped onto the floor. Aemond hugged you tighter and said everything was fine for his mother. It had been a fair exchange, he had lost a eye but had gained a dragon.

You knew the eye story wouldn't end there and you had confirmation years later.

You were stroking your mother's hair while she was being stitched up by the maester. You agonized every time the needle penetrated her soft skin and did your best to try and ease her pain.

Rhaenyra appreciated your concern and kissed your cheek after scolding your brothers.

Laenor entered the room and you hugged him, ''My child... I'm glad everything is okay with you'' He whispered against your hair, squeezing you tightly.

''I'm fine, dad. Mom is the one who's hurt.'' You mumbled. Laenor hugged you for a few more minutes and let you go, he turned and looked at Rhaenyra.

''I'm sorry for what happened to you and our children.'' Laenor took a deep breath and took a chair next to her. You stayed silent watching your parents interact.

Rhaenyra shook her head, ''It's not your fault.''

''No, it's not but I can't help but feel guilty. I've been neglecting you and Jace and Luce and Joffrey. And I regret that.''

Rhaenyra reached out and touched his arm, ''It's not your fault.'' She repeated again, with more firmness in her voice.

''I hate that I'm not the husband you needed, the father our children need.'' He whispered, ''I hate the way the gods made me.''

Your heart sank and you went to your father's side, hugging him. He smiled weakly at your affection.

''I don't hate.'' You mumbled.

''Neither do I.'' Your mother stated, ''You are a good and honorable man. That's something rare.'' They smiled and you felt lighter on that tragic day.

''I'm going to change. I will become a better husband and father.'' Your father said and pulled you into his arms, you smiled and hugged him back. Rhaenyra got up from her chair and walked over to you. She wrapped her arms around you and hugged you too.

You stayed for a while hugging your parents, feeling grateful for the peace that dominated your heart for a few minutes.

Because you knew it wouldn't last. Not when the next day a tragedy involved your entire family.

Rhaenyra's baby is always impeccably dressed, gods. I was re-reading yan!mom Rhaenyra's hcs and read that if bby!reader was a male he would be engaged to Helaena, Baela or Rhaena (much to Rhaenyra's chagrin). So I was thinking of bby!reader as a kid hearing that Helaena may eventually marry Aegon and running to his mom to ask if the rumor is true, and his mom just says yes because she doesn't want her baby to get married with Alicent's daughter. BUT SHE WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THE ARGUMENT WITH HER LITTLE BOY.

Bby!reader with his small stature and head held high: Can we agree that Helaena deserves better than foolish Aegon?

Rhaenyra: Yeah…

Bby!reader: Do we agree that there is no one better than me in this world and therefore I am the best option for Helaena?

Rhaenyra about to have a heart attack: Baby, much to my regret if one day you have to marry it will be one of Daemon's daughters.

Polygamy is not strange to Targaryens, especially Maegor. But over the years this practice fell into disuse and Viserys is not in favor of this, but it is funny to imagine this scene happening because it is very possible.

Rhaenyra does not want to see her precious bby marrying anyone. She does not want you to have a wife, let alone three. She does not want to be replaced or that you love another woman other than her.

One wife might be accepted, much to Rhaenyra's dismay, but three wives? Oh, sweet, maybe you're going to have to deal with some issues.

In the meantime, I imagine Helaena and bby!reader would already be very close, Alicent encourages that her favorite grandson spend time with her children, especially with her daughter and she could not be happier to see you getting so well with Helaena. Rhaenyra would be irritated and as a form of retaliation, she would encourage you to spend more time with Rhaena and Baela, with the blessing of Daemon and Rhaenys.

However, I think this marriage could work out. Like, I really think this polygamic relationship would work, Rhaena and Baela are sisters and get along very well, Helaena would probably get along with her cousins and bby!reader gets along with all. It could work.

You know, we had Aegon and his sisters. Maegor and his six wives (Henry VIII vibes right there). And now we have Y/N and his cousins ​​and his aunt.

Viserys isn't really in favor of polygamy but I can see him granting it to bby!reader as a way to please his grandson, much to the chagrin of Rhaenyra and probably Alicent. Because you know, Alicent doesn't mind marrying her only daughter to bby!reader, but she isn't a big fan of the fact that he married Rhaena and Baela either. And Rhaenyra we all know why, she is so freaking possessive of her bby.

Daemon is literally laughing at the situation, like his stepson is actually a real Targaryen. He doesn't care about the wedding, as long as bby!reader and Rhaena and Baela are happy, he's fine with that.

What about a yan!dad Criston Cole and a yan!mom Rhaenyra Targaryen? The child was born after Rhaenyra and Laenor's marriage. Let's say the princess didn't have the moon tea (because it was never really shown in the scene-) and she had a baby that is said to be Laenor's but is actually Criston's?

The reader wouldn't be totally identical to Rhaenyra but they wouldn't be look the same as the Velaryon brothers, you know? Like, imagine the Targaryen white hair and Criston's dark eyes? Or the other way around? Regardless of how you look, Criston knows that you are his child, his precious bby, he knows that very well and tries to be involved in your life, but Rhaenyra doesn't want him to get close to you.

The two would get into a fight over you and many disagreements and even offenses. Even worse if Laenor is a yandere for you too. You are considered Laenor and Rhaenyra's legitimate child, so in theory they have the most claim to you, and that doesn't make Criston happy at all. Maybe Laenor's death isn't entirely accidental? I mean, one yandere!dad is bad enough but now three? Poor reader, you would be caught in a tug of war.

I think it would be more fun if, because you're the firstborn, you're second only to your mother for succession to the Iron Throne, and imagine if Criston wants to see you on the throne? Let's just say that Aegon II on the Throne is not Criston's desire. It never was after finding out about you.

Oh, can you imagine the chaos and the drama?

IMAGINE THE MOMENT BBY!READER SAYS HE WANTS A SWORD OF HIS OWN. Viserys, Criston, Daemon, Harwin, Laenor and Corlys have to fight each other to know who will give the sword to baby!reader, while Rhaenyra fights against all of them.

Viserys argues that as bby!Reader's grandfather and king, he is the one who should order him to make a sword and give it to him.

Criston cannot openly say that he is the father of reader but he brings to the table his experience in the fight and says that he should be the one who orders her to do it.

Daemon may not have married Rhaenyra but since he is married to Laena he mentions that he is bby's uncle and should be the one to send him to make his own Valyrian steel sword, he does not stop talking about how he is proud of his nephew.

Harwin pulls the ace up his sleeve saying that as the captain of the guard and the one who teaches bby he must be the one who gives him the sword.

Laenor is the one who does not shut up saying that he has rights over everyone else because he is the father of baby!Reader, it is as if the man has been waiting for this moment.

And Corlys mentions that as the favorite grandfather he must be the one to give it to him.

Yan! Mom Rhaenyra very much against her will allowed her baby to practice with wooden swords while she was always present, as soon as she hears that her beloved sun wants a real and proper sword, she absolutely refuses and fights against anyone who has the audacity to do so give his son a sword.

If they could beat each other they would, basically war would break out sooner than you think.

Seriously, they would practically kill each other to see who would give the sword to bby!reader and it is more likely that Viserys will take the victory, as he is king, but Laenor, Daemon, Corlys and Criston will not accept that. Harwin would take it hurt.

Imagine this: bby!reader decides to barge into the training where everyone is present and says he wants a sword. Everyone was silent for a moment before the screaming started. They would kick, punch and shove, while Viserys and Daemon would just watch the fights, mostly between Harwin and Criston.

I agree with your explanations anon. Viserys claims that it is he who should give the sword to his grandson, after all he is your grandfather and he is the king. Logically, he is the one who should give you that honor. Viserys wishes to make you a knight in the future, and what better way to start than by being the first to give you a sword?

Corlys will try to civilly argue with Viserys that he should give you the sword, you have the surname Velaryon and not Targaryen (for the time being anyway) and that, following custom, he should give it to you. Plus, he's your grandfather and he's pretty sure he's your favorite grandfather.

Criston, as you said, can't say explicitly that he's bby!reader's father, but he won't stop picking fights about being the one who should give you the sword. He's your father, your real father, so he's the one who should do it. He will try to argue logically that he is one of the best fighters in Westeros and he will know how to train you the right way without putting your life at risk and therefore he should have that honor.

Harwin will disagree with Criston in a way, he thinks that because he is captain of the guard he should be the one to give you the sword and train you. He considers himself and is considered a great fighter, sometimes even better than Cole, and he knows he should be the one to train you. Harwin will go so far as to physically spar with those in attendance (most notably Criston) to make it clear why he should have this honor. He feels that he deserves her more than others.

Daemon will act arrogantly in this situation, he knows he's better than everyone else, and he's the one who'll give you a sword anyway, one of pure valyrian steel. I can see it, depending on your age, Daemon wanting to give you the Dark Sister as a way of demonstrating the pride and trust he has in his nephew. He is a great warrior and feels that he would be the one to get you properly prepared for physical fights.

Laenor is the one who complains the most in this situation, he makes it very clear that, like your father, he is the one who has the most right to this. He is the one who has the right to give you a sword and, who knows, to be able to train you. He's a good knight and Laenor feels he should help you become one, if that's what bby!reader wants. He's your father and he always makes it clear to everyone (and Criston is about to beat him to death-) that he has the most right to you of all those present and if someone is going to hand you a sword, it will be him.

I agree with Rhaenyra's! She is overprotective of her bby!reader like a fierce dragon, but I think it would be funnier if she were the one who gave bby!reader a sword. Imagine this, she stresses out from these men's fights and everyone watches in horror as she is the one who decides to give her son a sword. No one dares say a word for they are astonished when Rhaenyra places a sword in her son's hands.

She'll be like, "If my bby is going to have a sword I'll be the one to give it to him." And no one dares to question it, at least for the moment.

Viserys and Corlys would grudgingly accept, Criston and Harwin are still staring at each other like two rabid dogs, Daemon is a little irritated but laughs at the situation while Laenor is complaining about it to Rhaenyra.
