Guys! It's been 1 year since the Animaniacs reboot had ended with it's third season. While I am still sort of bummed that the show had ended so early in it's lifetime, the countless memories I have made in this fandom will be something that I will remember for the rest of my life.
It's amazing to me how, even after the show has ended, I still see a number of new fanart and fanfics on a weekly basis. There is so many of us out there, from different parts of the world, that all come here to cherish, create, and discuss our favorite show all in one place. We have shown that, when we all come together, we can all create a community so creative and diverse. We may be small, but our passion and love for this franchise is so much more.
Long live the Animaniacs fandom.

Wakko could have easily won Jeopardy with his US state song. All he had to do was say "What is..?" At the beginning instead of "Here goes!" And he would have been fine.
But it's still a catchy song nontheless, being Wakko's first solo in the series.

Slappy is SO underrated!
I have always been a fan of the Slappy Squirrel segments of Animaniacs. She fits right in with the nature of the show, and I have come to appreciate her a lot more the older I get.
Tumblr media
Slappy is very much the Bugs Bunny of Animaniacs. She is an older toon from the golden era of cartoons. She has a vast understanding of the inner workings of cartoons, and even uses it to her advantage to get back at her foes. Her relationship with Skippy is very sweet, too. In the episode Bumbee's Mom, Slappy comforts a saddened Skippy after seeing the bumbee movie, and even introduces him to the "actor" who played Bumbee's mom in the movie to prove that she is alright. It's a nice contrast between the old and knowlegable and the young and nieve.
There's a lot of layers to Slappy. She has a history of the cartoon industry that stems back to the 30s, which is explored in several of her appearences. Let's not forget about her relentless, and sometimes salty sense of humor. She is just so done with all the crap going on in the world, and I can't help but laugh at her sarcastic comments. Her humor really is contageous.
And yet, with all the stuff that's going for her, Slappy has sort of become forgotten over the years. I haven't seen that many people talk about her or even mention her when discussing Animaniacs, which is sad, because Slappy is easily one of Animaniacs' finest characters.
But I don't view her unpopularity as a bad thing. I have found that a forgotten character can often be found to be a great one. And Slappy sure is great (and Skippy too).

Here are my headcanons for how each of the Warners deal with anxiety
Yakko: Being the oldest, Yakko experiences the most anxiety out of the sibling's. He's the type of person who needs a good pep talk in order to bring him back down to reality, and for him to realize that everything will be just fine. Dot is usually the one who gives Yakko these pep talks, but Wakko gets his turn every once in a while. The eldest Warner needs these pep talks pretty regularly, as he tends to worry a lot.
Wakko: Wakko craves physical attention whenever he is feeling anxious about something. He will ask Yakko and/or Dot to scratch behind his ear, give him a pat on the shoulder, or for the ever joyous belly rub. Wakko also has the tendency to indulge in stress eating, inhailing even more food than he normally would. However, if the anxiety is related to his eating habits, he will try to avoid overeating at all costs until one of his sibling's notices.
Dot: The Warner sister dosen't get anxiety often compared to her older brothers. When she is feeling anxious, though, she releases it by doing chores around the house. Dot will get the urge to do the dishes, reorginize the kitchen cabinets, sweep the floor in every room until the entire tower is spotless. Dot is also not afraid to admit when she is feeling anxious. She believes that internalizing your feelings only makes you feel worse, and she yells at Yakko whenever he tries to mask his anxiety from her and Wakko.
All three: It's pretty rare for all three of the Warner's to experience anxiety at the same time. This only happens when an ordeal occurs that effects their whole family (like when they were first locked up in the tower back in the 30s). When this happens, the Warners like to snuggle up together, exchanging tears and words of encouragement, embracing themselves in an endearing family hug.

After seeing a bunch of people sharing their personal Animaniacs headcanons, I thought I'd share a headcanon of my own.
Yakko, on top of being a history buff, is a animation nerd. He knows a lot about the history of cartoons, from the rubberhose era to present day. He knows the names of famous animators such as Tex Avery, William Hanna and Chuck Jones. He has a deep understanding of toon techniques (such as hammerspace), and he knows how to use them properly in different scenerios. But most of all, he loves to ramble about his vast knowledge of cartoons for hours on end, much to the annoyance of his siblings.
"Come on, Yakko!" They would moan, "This is like the hundreth time you've told us about this."
Yakko would laugh at this and reply: "Indeed, sibs. We must never forget our humble roots, and the blood, sweat, and tears these triumphent animators went through to bring us to life."

Does anyone else think the Animaniacs' ep. Go Fish is unsettling?
This has been on my mind for a while, but I wanted to talk about this episode from the original run of Animaniacs: S3EP8 sg. 3 titled Go Fish. The plot is about Wakko playing a heated game of go fish...with himself. The episode shows him going all in, having a literal war with himself in his bedroom, all because Wakko apperently cheated..against Wakko?
And it's not like Yakko and Dot aren't home. They are aware that Wakko is doing this, and they even comment about it.
"Boy, I'm worried about the beaver" Dot says to Yakko, who is..SMOKING A PIPE!?
Tumblr media
This episode is just weird, man! But so is this show in general.
Anyway, back on topic. It's unknown why Wakko is playing by himself. It's even more questioning as to why neither of his siblings decided to intervene, or why they didn't offer to play go fish with their brother. The episode dosen't really shed light on that. For all we know, Wakko could be experiencing some sort of anxiety which is encouraging this behavior. Loneliness can cause someone to do extreme things, and this could be how Wakko copes with that.
But I digress. Perhaps I'm looking too deep into this. It's just a children's cartoon after all, about three kids who were..locked up for sixty years and went insane- o-okay, has anyone else realized how insanely dark this show is!?

What is the best season of Animaniacs 2020?
With the reboot now officially over, and with the 3 year anniversery having passed, I think it is a better time than ever to discuss which season of the Animaniacs revival is best.

Justice for Coyote Vs Acme
I know I'm a little bit late to the matter, but I just want to express how much I despise the way Warner Bros. have been treating their cartoons as of late. From the shutdown of Cartoon Network Studios, to the cancellation of this movie; it's obvious that David Zaslav and the execs of Warner Bros. Discovery have zero respect for the animation industry.
The fact that a team of writers, animators, producers, directors, and actors were all called upon to work on this movie, putting their all into this movie to ensure that it is the best that it can be, only for it to be thrown in the garbage before it ever had the chance to see a glimpse of the public eye. It is sick. It is sick how easily David Zascrap screwed over this film, just because he didn't see it as "profitable". It is so obvious that the primary goal of WBD is to churn out as much money from their films that their filthy hands can grasp, and they will happily cancel a project that they don't believe will turn those profits.
But what David Zascrap dosen't realize, and what he will NEVER realize, is that the art of animation goes far beyond just profits. Animation is art, and it should be treated as such. What if a museam decided to throw out a Picaso painting just because not enough people were looking at it? People would see that as outrageous. Therefore, we should apply the same logic to this situation. All animation must be preserved. They are art, and (especially if done well) will remain priceless until the end of time.
Thankfully, the vast majority of people in the animation community are against WBD's decision to cancel Coyote Vs Acme. It's very likely that the film is set to be deleted forever, which would be a terrible fate for this movie. People need to speak up, and bring to light the mistreatment this movie has recieved. The more we make our voices heard, the more likely the big corperations will listen.
And to the animators, writers, and everyone else who worked their asses off to make Coyote Vs Acme, know that the community sympathizes with you. You guys work hard, and you deserve a lot more credit for all the hell you have to go through to make these movies possible.
And to you, David Zascrap, I'm sending Wile over to your office with a 10-ton anvil. He'll be there in 15 minutes.

Animaniacs Fic Suggestion #1 Adventures In Warner Sitting
I'm going to start a series of posts where I promote/gush about several Animaniacs fics which I feel are worthy of praise. There are a lot of writers in this fandom, and not all of them get the love and attention that they deserve. I believe all writers are worthy of having their works praised; this is a way to give those writers a broader audience.
One Animaniacs fic I can recommend without hesitation is Adventures In Warner Sitting, written by LooneyTunesLady, and is posted on Fanfiction.Net. The story features the Warners getting a babysitter, sixteen year old Nori Bennett, and mainly centers around her relationship with Yakko. Yakko, being his flirty self, strikes a bet with Nori to see if he can keep his innuendos to himself. Over the course of the story, you will see how the two's dynamic grows, and Nori will come to realize that someone who she once thought of as a frog turns out to be a prince.
I am amazed at how well written this story is. LooneyTunesLady nailed the Warners character, and Nori (who is an OC) is an extremely complex character with multiple layers hidden under the surface. The story also offers an interesting take on the Warners' backstory, which builds off of the already established canon of the 1993 run of Animaniacs (I honestly prefer her take compared to the lore of the OG show).
BOTTOMLINE: If you're a hardcore fan of Animaniacs; you love to dig deep into lore, crave meaningful character development, and if you don't mind romantic undertones, then this is absolutley the story for you!
Here's a shortcut to her story here:
If there's a fic you feel should be discussed/think I should talk about/read, feel free to tell me below.
