Axel and Dem joking at Xig and he believes for a minute Dem knows something about him by how hes talking to him about whatever hes talking about (I don't know if you believe in the dem being the MOM au i kinda dont but its not to out there for KH) Xig just stares at him and he stares back as if he knows something for a second but then he just "Nah im just pulling your leg" and Xig is having an inner nonheart attack "oh..okay dude.."

Haha, yeah, Demyx seems totally the type to seem like he knows way more than he does without realizing it.

I do think part of the reason Xig and Dem end up being such buddies is partially because Demyx's personality and mannerisms have a lot of similarities to MoM. So while I don't think he's actually MoM, I think there's some familiarity there, so Xigbar naturally gravitates towards him, whether he's conscious of it or not.

But I imagine that during the Organization, there's a couple of close calls for him where he thinks the others are onto him.

lamia (he/they) is a bristly autistic motherfucker in his mid-to-late twenties who doesnt take care of himself nearly as well as he ought to. their gut reaction to sincere (or insincere) affection is to panic and tell people to fuck off. they are The Bearer of a Curse. despite The Horrors he fights tooth and nail for a better future for the people around him. actually he fights a little too hard. he could stand to take a nap and eat a bagel or something. their favorite things are sweets, sitting alone on a roof, stimming by killing monsters, and dilfs.

Deep Lamia Lore under the cut. spoilers for the fic of which i have posted not a single word

also: content warning for speculative fiction parental abuse. putting this below the readmore because the fact that it happens is a spoiler lol

lamia has had horrific nightmares since he was little. their father was a researcher at what i can best describe as a magical laboratory and promised lamia that he would find a way to help them with the nightmares, saying that they're caused by the Darkness in their Heart. in the meantime the nightmares only got worse and worse. well it turns out his dad was lying the entire time. his dad's research was in how to transfer darkness from one person's heart into another's, and he's been transferring his own darkness into lamia's heart the entire time. ("darkness" and "heart" in this case are both pretty vague concepts that can mean a lot of things, this is how ive decided to play with those ideas for this character)

ten years ago the town he grew up in was taken over by an evil witch who unleashed a bunch of monsters on the town and nearly destroyed it, at which time his parents abandoned him because, well, it's not like his dad would be able to continue his research if he couldn't get to the lab. their current occupation is killing monsters and trying to protect people and restore the town. he runs himself absolutely ragged, barely eats, barely sleeps (because nightmares). he has friends, but there's really only so much they can do to support him when they're also trying to do the same thing he is.

despite his bristliness he's also the type of person to just give and give and give of himself until there's nothing left, not out of any kind of misplaced goodhearted altruism necessarily, because he feels he has to. they've had a couple really awful relationships--not abusive per se, but relationships with people who implicitly blamed them for the Darkness in their Heart and wanted to shape them into something more palatable.

this is the short version. and YES theyre a kingdom hearts oc. theyre a very angsty and tonally dissonant kingdom hearts oc. i made them up so they could kiss a weird old man who talks like a surfer. they have a keyblade and everything. its an old rusty broken keyblade that doesnt even work right. but it's like, Themes.

and before anyone is concerned about the age gap, lamia is 1. a fucked up but fully grown adult and 2. the same age or older than some of the most common characters xig is shipped with. so

-- 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑻𝒐𝒌𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒔𝒖 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒅𝒆: 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑮𝒂𝒊𝒂 -- So for the longest time I’ve wanted to really talk about a show that truly was *perfect* to me. I’ve gushed about shows like Dairanger, Kiramager, Dyna, etc on here before but I’ve never really given the showcase of what show I could absolutely go on for hours about. Ultraman Gaia is the very show that I can do that with. Ultraman Gaia is my entry as the best tokusatsu ever produced. Now, I feel like this is a bit of a hot take to many seeing as many may throw out names like “Return of Ultraman”, “Kamen Rider Black”, “Godzilla (1954)”, “Gamera 3″, etc as the crown as the best tokus but to me there is nothing that really speaks volumes of why I love this medium and what I look for in a show more than Ultraman Gaia. What makes Gaia perfect to me is that it feels like a true successor to everything that came before in the franchise all pushed into this blender that encapsulates exactly what Ultraman means to me, and what Ultraman stands for in general. Gaia understands Ultraman, it understands what Ultraman can achieve, it understands why Ultraman is needed. Ultraman Gaia is a show that is about as much about humans as it is about Ultraman duking it with the MOTW. The show explores us, to even having Gridman technology plots that go darker places to match even Gridman’s.  Gaia has an episode for all people, whether you want an episode about the dangers of the cellphone, or an episode about Imperial Japan war crimes, you will find it and it will blow you away in ways that Ultra never achieved before and never achieved again. Gaia is a one of a kind show, and its very status in the history of the franchise holds as it is not only the most ambitiously made Ultraman series but it is also probably the most expensive show they have possibly ever produced. Gaia is the show that not only caused the downward spiral of bankruptcy in Tsupro but it is also the show that features the most impressive effects that they have ever pumped out. Gaia’s cast is also probably the largest we’ve ever had. We get a central team of about 8 members, but we also have squadrons, branches, etc that make XIG and GUARD look extremely massive and feel like Super GUTS’ levels of expansion and military budget. You’d think this would detriment the show, but in actuality it actually brings the show’s core strength of Hasegawa’s best writing outputs. The show oozes with strong character work, dynamics, and drama that all hit the right spots. From the KSCB team, to Fujimiya, to Gamu and XIG, there is all equal attention given to all of them and they all shine spectacularly. Early on a few actors (especially Yoshioka) were kinda inexperienced and didn’t give the strongest deliveries but as they gradually went on (and with help from Watanabe) they really improved and it even feels like the characters themselves have grown into individuals. What more can be said? The OST slaps, that’s the final note.

The Likelihood of My Muses Receiving a Redemption Arc

If we're talking about during the events of the game?? Very likely "no." He's so locked into his own self-centered mentality of gaining power and being the best and destroying Garland and ruling Gaia and then... yknow.... *cough*destroying the universe*cough*..... he's too much of a narcissistic, insecure mess to even begin to get his footing on the concept of turning over a new leaf.

However, if we're talking about post-FFIX Kuja?? Where he had his little "aha" moment before his "death," and, despite being a damn drama queen about it ("I don't deserve to live after all I've done. I'm useless to this world." Oh woe is him) came to the realization that there's more to life than just himself?

Well... admittedly, he'll always be a narcissist to some degree, always dramatic, always thinking of himself first. One does not live for 24 years with such stunted emotional growth to just magically change overnight.

But now that he's been given this second chance, he's carried that little "aha" moment with him, and he's a smart cookie entirely capable of learning---maybe not outright empathy, but at least he can grasp the concept of sympathy. Even though he would still have some difficulty putting himself into other people's shoes due to his lack of experience and couldn't totally relate on the same level, he can still see someone's happiness or hardships and somewhat understand what it is they're going through.

(And tbh I have personally headcanon'd in that verse that he's begun using some of his wealth to help out various folks that need it, does some odd jobs in Lindblum and Alexandria and, when he travels, does his best to learn from others rather than cloistering himself to his own personal interests.)

However... it does bear repeating: Kuja has some very intense emotional issues. Thus, ultimately, I feel it would depend on outside influences---he meets good people, finds some positive experiences, he could grow into a beautiful blossom that lives a full, happy, healthy life.

But if not... well. He could become even worse.

It just depends, I suppose---but the likelihood of being able to find a new purpose for himself in his post-FFIX verse is fairly high.

Xigbar

As of now, due to the ongoing nature of the KH series, Xig is still a big ol' wild card. However, just looking at what I've interpreted of him... it's another case where it could go either way.

Despite his constantly casual attitude and nonchalant behavior---that eternally idgaf clownery---Xigbar is... for lack of a nicer way of saying it, a deeply broken individual. He began this journey as Luxu: this hopeful servant of Light, desperate for everyone to be saved---but now, he's lived for centuries, hopping through body after body, basically at the mercy of a Fate that he fully doesn't understand.

Regardless of what's to canonically come, I envision two paths for Xigbar:

The first is where he becomes the Ultimate Villain of the next arc, seeking out the destruction of the Master and the Foretellers and everyone that dares to get in his way, gaining his revenge and finally NOT keeping his power levels at 0.03% of his full abilities (I cannot be unconvinced of this, it is The Truth).

The second?? He becomes the Weird Uncle Guy who sorta tags along but is still a snarky nuisance to everyone, all while subtly showing off how super OP he is.

So... in summary, again, since KH is ongoing... it's a half-and-half kinda deal.

this is super late but heck yeah I do!

Vexen:

On some level, deep deep down, he knows that he can be insufferable. But he thinks everyone else is worse.

Always has a hundred things bouncing around his head, so he has a hard time sleeping most nights.

Which also means he's usually up really late working on things.

Is one of those people who would ask for help through gritted teeth if he really needed it, but then immediately turn and complain that they're doing it wrong and kick them out.

Tolerates Zexion more than the other members, but he also infuriates him more than the others. It's a double-edged sword, really.

Hates repeating himself, a lot.

Absolutely complains about people behind their back, but isn't above doing it to their faces, either.

Prefers not to sit still or lounge when he could be working on something.

Because of that, he isn't a big fan of leaving the castle for missions.

Larxene:

Her and Marluxia are pretty close to inseparable.

They get together to plot (obvs), but also just to complain about the other members or their missions.

Demyx is her #1 target because he makes it so easy.

But she will absolutely go after any member that irritates her.

Is absolutely the "I'll hate you first so you can't hate me" kind of person.

She has no idea what her hair is doing either.

Since she can control lightning, having her outside during a lightning storm is VERY dangerous!!

If she's bored, she will electrify the furniture in the Gray Area so whoever sits or lays on it next will get shocked.

Unfortunately, she gets bored very easily.

Roxas:

Would like to have a skateboard collection someday, even if he can't quite justify it.

Has an absolutely awful fashion sense. No one really taught him what looks good with what, so he just sticks with what he has.

Loves trying new food, even if he doesn't think he'll like it.

Has a soft spot for cats, kittens, and everything in between.

Skips breakfast most days and will argue with anyone who tries to make him eat it.

A tad overprotective of his friends, with a tendency to get angry easily.

But it's just because he wouldn't know what to do without them.

Ventus:

Because of Aqua's baking, he's a huge lover of all things dessert.

Has nightmares a bit, but usually can't remember them when he wakes up.

He also has no idea what causes them.

Is somehow both a cat and a dog person at the same time.

Doesn't handle caffeine particularly well and can mistake the caffeine rush as panic.

Absolutely stresses out over what to buy people when it comes to gifts and gift giving. He wants it to be the best present, so he can end up with five items for one person, each one he thinks outclassing the next.

Loves simple games and puzzles, even if he's not the best with them.

Namine:

Her handwriting is actually pretty messy!

Always puts other's needs and emotions before her own.

Would love to get into baking and cake decorating but isn't sure where to start.

Loves pressed flowers and will sometimes try it out herself, even if it does make her a little sad.

Enjoys sunlight and gentle breezes. Spring is definitely her favorite season.

Wants to be friends with everyone, but also feels like she doesn't deserve it.

Demyx:

He's actually pretty clever, but he only uses it to avoid his responsibilities.

Keeps the other's up at night playing his sitar.

Will try almost any food at least once.

Doesn't actually write down his songs. He just memorizes the rhythm, and then how to play it.

Will tune his sitar even if he doesn't have to just to keep his hands busy.

Hoards snacks, shares with Xigbar, Roxas, Xion, and Luxord.

Absolutely tries to sleep forever, but would get bored if he were actually allowed to.

Bonus!

Luxord:

The expert of minding his own business.

But because he minds his own business, people tend to talk around him.

He knows more inconsequential things about the other members than anyone else.

Enjoys playing cards with Xigbar, because he always cheats. It gives him the extra challenge of figuring out how to win without breaking the rules.

Is a stickler for rules, but is always bending them.

Since it's confirmed Luxord asked Xem about the Black Box, ya think Xemnas asked Xigbar about it in turn? Or that he at least thought about it?

I think up to that point, Xem's probably had his suspicions of Xigbar. He knows very little of his history, and his motivation for sticking with the organization and Master Xehanort's plan is not super convincing. But I think he recognizes that that's information that Xig is probably never gonna share, for one reason or another. Or that it would at least take a while for it to come up, if ever.

In my perfect ideal world they'd talk all this stuff out, but I doubt that'd happen, haha. Xem might offhandedly mention it, cue the same response Xigbar gave Luxord, trying to casually brush it off. Xem wouldn't get a straight answer and would know he didn't. Something like that, I think. Or I could see him keeping the information to himself but becoming a little more observant.
