With the Xenoblade series coming to an end with Future Redeemed and me also having finished my playthrough of XCDE recently, I felt I needed to finally make something for the game that started it all.
This is a redraw of a thing I started all the way back in 2016 but never completed, which is why this is extra special to me. I think my past self would be extremely proud, too-
You can find the 2016 version under the cut! I made so much progress in these years holy shit
It is a true crime Tyrea never appeared in Xenoblade 3 so I decided to rectify that by redesigning her to fit more into 3’s world/post Aionios as Melia’s right hand. I hope you enjoy!
Love how you can tell if I have have been playing Xenoblade DE/1 lately cause when I do I always end up with at least two unclosed tabs of Xenoblade wiki at all times
A gift from Alvis
XC3 Future Redeemed came out a while ago and I drew this the day of
I am extremely proud of this piece in general, I’m glad I decided to draw one of my favorite characters in media and one from my favorite game series <3
I've been playing xenoblade chronicles definitive edition on and off for about a year now (kept getting distracted) but i'm finally real close to finishing it and i really really love it and the characters (even tho i kinda suck at it)
i'm just finishing up some sidequests before setting off for the finale
The Little Reasons That Made Me Love Xenoblade Chronicles 1
I’m playing the definitive edition for the very first time on the switch. Today I reached 100 hours and the final chapter. This game has taken a hold of my life, and I just wanted to gush about all the little things that made me go from liking the game to falling in love with it.
-Shulk being a socially awkward dork
-Fiora’s absolutely adorable, infectious laughter
-Melia’s beautiful poetic declarations when she summons elementals
-Reyn and his corny puns
-everyone roasting Reyn in post-battle dialogue
-Dunban being a good mentor and coaching Shulk and Reyn
-Riki. Just Riki. I love everything about that little furry volleyball
-Shulk’s weirdly aggressive “HIYAH!” during Light Heal
-everyone indulging Riki’s bloated Mighty Heropon ego
-Melia trying her best to loosen up and not be so formal with her friends
-Riki calling everyone else his sidekicks
-Reyn sniffing his pits during idle animation
-Melia falling on her ass while practicing her Starlight Kick during idle animation
-by concept and in theory, anyway, Sharla being a healing sniper is unconventional and very cool
-Dunban getting naked to unleash his full potential as an agility tank
-everyone checking on each other and complimenting each other after a fight. love the camaraderie and positive affirmation all around
-“born in a world of STRIFE (B), against the ODDS (B), we choose to FIGHT (B)! Blossom Dance!”
-“You Caaan DoIt!”
-“Riki sneaky!”
-“Riki likes fighting easy monsters”
-“Diiive SABAT!”
-“STREEEAM Edge!”(for the longest time I heard it as Scream Edge)
-“Let’s press ON and ON and ON!”
Seven-related stuff below the cut:
-the sword drones. a joy to watch every time, so satisfying to watch those 10 hits land
-the Double Wind animation. especially cool to see it freeze after execution during chain attack. I also like to time it with the beat in Mechanical Rhythm
-the needlessly excessive but undoubtedly badass way she twirls her blades
-having a whole skill tree dedicated to Shulk. sweet and kinda funny.
-unleashing hell with “Final CROOOOSS”
Started Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition the other day. Having fun but I still have to get used to the whole auto-attack thing. I think I'm just so used to choosing when and how I make normal attacks in other games that such a style change is jarring. I remember around December last year I bought a cartridge of XC3 and played for about an hour and the whole auto-attack thing put me off quite a bit, but I'm giving the series another shot.
Other than that, I really like Dunban and Dickson, and I hope we see more of them further on into the story. Also, I feel like there's a LOT of homo-erotic tension between Shulk and Reyn, despite Fiora being the obvious love interest for Shulk.
Last thing for Xenoblade fans: I'm planning on playing through the series all the way up to 3, and I very vaguely understand that some stuff from 1 and 2 get referenced/paid off in it. So I was wondering if Xenoblade Chronicles X has anything like that. If not, would it still be worth playing? And if so, is it big/important enough that skipping it would cause me confusion during my playthrough of 3? Should I even play it at all? I've seen A LOT online about how different it is to the other games and that it's essentially a spiritual successor to the first game and possibly(?) not related to the others.
Saw a YouTube comment saying that Alvis taking the Monado from Shulk and using Monado Purge against the Telethia was their Level 4 Blade Special and now I can’t unsee it :O
This video has been fermenting in the back of my gallery for a while. I don't have a capture card, so I had to record it with my phone- :')
Some reminiscing: About 1½ years ago a friend of mine introduced me to Xenoblade Chronicles. They lent me their copy of DE and later on, XC2, and I immediately fell in love with the series. Unfortunately, I still haven't played XC3, but I hope to get to play it in the future.
