oh it’s 2023 now. everyone should know by now that supporting remakes that did not fundamentally change things about noorhelm makes you an abuse apologist. cool!

it’s so difficult when what you’re looking for in a tv show or movie just isn’t quantifiable. i’m definitely not looking for a copious amount of sex scenes or something particularly steamy. i want to watch something that shows the intimacy and the strength of the bond that can form between two people, which is kind of really difficult to search for. it’s that element that makes marianne and connell so compelling, and what all the best skam seasons embody. i’m literally just going to list the shows and movies which i think fit this feeling, please feel free to add to it.
• normal people (obviously)
• skam and it’s remakes (season 2 of wtfock, and season 5 of druck are some of my favourites)
• isi and ossi (i have not clue why this movie isn’t more popular, it’s such a good romcom)
• veronica mars (not the detective part, but the whole progression of LoVe)
• shameless (but specifically ian and mickey)
•the OA
• Bones (the chemistry between booth and bones could set something on fire)
•young royals
•heartstopper
•heartbreak high
•mixte 1963
•bridgerton (but only s2 and queen charlotte, s1 gives me the ick)
•buffy the vampire slayer (whatever spike and buffy have going on is very compelling)

Would you rank the skam wlw seasons? and could you justify the rankings? I am interested in your opinion. sorry my english :)
Your English is fine! And sorry for the late reply, I just finished s2 of skam españa so that I can answer this properly
1. Fatou (Druck s6)- now this is me being completely biased, but watching Fatous season live honestly was so life changing, I've never seen a black main character be so portrayed in a beautiful and caring way in Germany, and I honestly adore Fatou. I love that her season didn't deal with a coming out, but that she was already an out and proud lesbian, and I honestly LOVE how they portrayed her and Kieu Mys culture. For me, when it comes to black sapphics and sapphics of colour, I feel like they always make their culture a point of conflict, but with Fatou and Kieu My, their sexualities and culture could just coexist without any problem, and that is so special to me. And I absolutely love Kieu My, I love how well fleshed out she is, how we learn more and more about her throughout the season, and how she's more than what she portrays, how she just wants to be seen and not have to be perfect and please everyone all the time, how much pressure she puts upon herself just to make everyone happy, and so much more, I also love how they used her social media to document how and when exactly Kieu My stopped performing and started ro just be herself. Also back to the culture, I loved how they referenced Fatous, Kieu Mys and Avas cultures, it felt like it was made for bipoc watchers, and not to educate the white audience, and that is what made it so authentic imo, because as a black person, I don't need explanation for certain things, like for example when ava explained how mailin behaved at the protest, I immediately understood why she was bothered by it, and so did fatou, and that was realistic, its the small things, but that made me relate to the characters so much more, or when fatou face timed her relatives and relied on her dad to translate to her, these moments are so special to me. I also love the symbolism throughout the season, from Kieu My being the axolotl and Fatou the tortoise to the astrology references to Kieu My being the ice queen and Fatou the warmest person ever, how well they complemented etc etc. Also: " Kieu My, du bist so schön. Ich hab mir ne Liste gemacht an Dingen die so schön an dir sind. Wie du zum beispiel immer deine ohren hinter deinen haaren versteckst, wie du so eng mit deiner Familie bist, und dass du so krass gut mit Horrorfilmen bist. Aber am meisten lieb ich wenn du lachst. Weil dann seh ich dich. Und wie viel liebe in dir ist."Like hello???? Also, the entirety of Sonntag, 13:28, and how they related and bonded with each other through their experiences of being a child in an immigrant family. Generally, I love how much care was put into this season, and that's why Fatous s6 and kieutou will always be on top for me. Also, it's the remake where I don't need any translations for lol
2. Anaïs (Wtfock)- now I know the writing has been disappointing since ep7, but honestly, I am sosososososo grateful to have Anais as a main character in a skam remake. I honestly love her, I love how loyal, caring, and kind she is, and there's nothing that could make me hate her, like that's my nigerian sister, I honestly never thought that we'd get nigerian sapphic rep, and I'm so here for it. As for Anobbie, I love how their development was shown from ep1 to 6, especially ep3, that ep felt like it was straight out of a rom com, from anobbie fleeing together from that Fries place and getting closer to the subtle flirting of Bobbie, to Bobbie looking out for and helping out Anais at the party and with her friends drinking away her dads alcohol, to Bobbie opening up to Anais about her dad and showing her the place where her fathers ashes were sprayed, to Anais and Bobbie getting closer, to Anais arranging a date meeting with bobbie, to Anais playing "I'm gonna make you love me" and making Bobbie dance with her, to Bobbie finally kissing her, like it was so beautiful to watch. Also, I love how anobbie complements eachother and how theyre exactly what the other person needs, Bobbie makes Anais feel free and able to stand up for herself and feel like she's herself, and Anais makes Bobbie feel safe and provide a sense of stabilty, they really adore eachother and would go to great lengths to protect eachother, and I honestly love to see it. Also they reminded me a lot of kieutou, and alone for that they're high on the list. Also, just like Kieu My, I love how fleshed out Bobbie is as a love interest, she's such an interesting character that you want to know more of, and whether you love her or hate her, you pay attention to her, that's how interesting she is and im so here for it. And after druck, they're the remake where I need the least amount of translation for lol
3. Cris- (skam españa s2)- I just finished watching it, and omg, crisana literally invented gay staring, from their first meeting their eye contact was so insane, it got me giggling and kicking my feet lol. I really liked the season, I loved how reassuring and supportive Cris friend group is, how they were there for her every single time she had problems with Joana, and generally they seem like such a sweet friend group, and now i see why they're most peoples fave girl squad. As for crisana, they were so cute, I love how much they adored eachother, and I really love how reassuring cris was with joana at the end, telling her that she won't run away and that she'll be there for her. I also loved howbwe could see just how much cris cared for joana, like she cried in almost every single clip after joana disappears. honestly sometimes forgot that this was an evak remake lol, but I think it did the OG justice
4. Lola (skam france s6)- I don't remember much from lolas seasons except that it was veeeeryy dark, and that she could never catch a break, like why did they make her suffer so much? I feel like her and Maya could've had more development because their relationship felt rushed to me, but they were really cute, and I really love the scene where Maya draws on lola while she's laying there crying, it feels to intimate and special. Also, just like Bobbie, Lola is a polarising character, and I love those types of characters, especially female ones
5. Maya (skam france s9)- this never happened, mayla are still happily together while they work on their issues through proper communication, lola never broke up with Maya, and they still have their tattoo together
But honestly, this was so disappointing, the first time a LI got a season, and then we don't even learn anything about the LI at the end, it feels they just made the season to have an excuse to break up mayla, but we already knew that

Honestly, can't wait for the day Nora Dari blows the lid off of everything wtFOCK. She stated once that she kept a diary of some sorts about her experience as a POC on set - or at least the first season. Would love to hear her take on Bram's writing.
Because, let's be honest, wtFOCK went down in writing after S2 (when they still had teen advisors and Cecilia as a showrunner for S1) - but held up due the OG actors.
Bram never credited a diverse writing team and has the POV of a middle-aged white male. Plus after S3, gave the illusion that the audience was more a burden than a blessing with their feedback (as proven by his tweets). Pride is a dangerous thing.

* jotting down some thoughts from old wtFock, seasons 1-3 .... (part 1)
1. Jana
Pros- Jana + Robbe (Belgium Eva + Isak); Girlsquad minus Amber; Zoe + Jana/Zoe + Yasmina/Luca + Yasmina; the first appearance of Senne/Senne + Zoe scenes
Cons- Jana + Jens (Belgium Eva + Jonas), lol
*couldn't remember anything from this og season and the first few eps were fun, then I got annoyed at how the main couple story seemed to drag on; overall it was average-i don't think they changed much and the story was fine, but nothing really blew me away
2. Zoe
*I don't remember much from this og season (gonna be honest, before this, I don't think I finished Noora's season ever, because I can't stand William, lol, and I didn't realize until now).
Pros- Senne feels like a more likeable version of William to me [basing even off of the earlier episodes before both Senne/William's development]. (+ Senne at the beginning of wtFOCK is even still better than William at the end of Skam OG).
Cons- I LOVE Zoe + Senne, but the early ep conflict of her going on a date with him and being in denial is honestly so stupid. It seems like such a simple issue in the world of Skam in comparison to the other seasons for every reimagination. (But I know the later conflicts are gonna break me).
More in depth appreciation of Senne and Zoe
Senne: There were only a few moments in season 1 + early season 2 where I questioned him, but there's just charm and development to Senne that fleshes him out and actually made me love this couple by the end. They don't water down parts of "Senne" that are truly important to his whole "bad boy" personality-like later on (s3) his instinctual crutch of violence towards his brother or his smart-ass comments in season 1, but they also don't make him just a terrible boyfriend like og.
Zoe: could throw water in someone's face for no reason and I would still love her (I'm watching s4 rn although she doesn't do that, so this is kind of in line). She's not perfect and a lot of her push-back with Senne (mainly) can be really unreasonable, but that's what makes her her. I feel like she comes off as more stubborn than og Noora, but I honestly love it and there's subtle changes to her characterization that back it up. She's one of the most headstrong Nooras (obv all of them have this trait), and she's someone that is gonna move in a way that seems proactive to her (ex: her taking the plan B pill before even knowing what happened to her). The only minor thing I thought at one point is that we didn't get enough of Zoe's perspective on things (there are a lot of characters and it's great to see them, but sometimes certain interactions felt it took away in some way, idk). She was just a character I knew I would love immediately in season 1 [& she's great, but as I go on, I do think the writers kind of diminish her potential in some way (even certain choices in s2), but idk how to explain it-although it doesn't ruin her character at all for me, there's just minor minor differences than how she seemed].
Zoenne: I love how they are so different in their points of view; they each are strong in their opinions and it's not resolved too quickly. I honestly see both povs, which is how it should be. And in season 3, I wasn't even mad at the break up (even though it didn't last long)-they are the only Noorhelm imo to address the problem between them (with them being so young + why love's not enough), not make it the end of the world, and still get back together at a later time.
wtFOCK likes to dramatize a lot of their scenes, but for me it works in Zoe's season.
Examples: 1) the text from Senne's brother at the end of the episode revealing the pictures he took per the glass drop; 2) the Senne finds out scene I felt was better directed and acted than the og scene, giving a more emotional feel and lead up to the hallway confrontation in ep 10
other things: Amber is one of the worst Vildes in terms of ignorance, however they've done well with her development and not resolving her problems too quickly [I just know I'll eat my words come season 4/5]. Her seemingly heightened naivety against the other "Vildes" makes so much sense in this scenario.
2 is definitely my fav wtFock season
...not sure I'll watch Season 4, cause I know it's gonna piss me off more than Imane's, but maybe I'll continue for Yasmina only
^ update-started it; I hate it

Luise Emilie Tschersich (Sara) on the alt er love podcast
In case you're curious about what she shared on the podcast, but perhaps think an almost 2-hour long episode is a bit much:
She mentioned that NRK fines the remake teams with money fines if they break the adaptation contract. She says Druck wasn't fined because Germans don't like paying fines. She also said that other remake teams have been fined.
(I will say I don't think Skam Austin was fined since it was made with Julie's input, and they had a different contract anyway. And eskam wasn't fined for at least s1 and s2 because I know the changes were personally accepted by Marianne Furevold-Boland who was in charge of such decisions. If eskam was fined for s3, I say good for eskam. And if eskam was fined for s4, they fully deserved it lmao. Aside from that, I'm looking forward to a fandom discussion over which remakes might've been fined and why. I say wtfock for s4 definitely.)
That being said, the conditions can be negotiated. For instance, the Druck team negotiated that certain aspects of s3 were changed, such as David being trans and how the mental illness topic was handled. Again, the Druck team was very careful about how far they could take these changes in order to avoid a fine.
She didn't say this outright, but she heavily implied that the Druck team had to fight with ZDF for Amira's season to even be made. (My note: DESPITE ZDF having a contractual obligation to center a season around the Sana character.) She also implies that the reason it was made in the end is because 3 episodes weren't in Amira's POV.
She says Jule, who played Leonie, was quite open to the possibility of having Leonie be sapphic canonically. On the other hand, she used to think Sara was the straightest girl ever. She now thinks that maybe if Sara and Leonie met now, something could happen.
She shared a BTS story from s3. As some people might know, Michelangelo (Matteo) was shooting a project in Prague (Preis der Freiheit) at the same time as he was shooting Druck in Berlin. As a result, he was often tired. So, they were shooting the scene where Sara asks Matteo if they're boyfriend and girlfriend. They started doing the close ups on her face, meaning Michi was out of frame. As she was saying her lines, she noticed that Michi was so tired that he just fell asleep on the pillow Matteo was using in that scene.
She was upset that Sara and Leonie didn't get to appear in the final clip of s4, i.e. Amira's goodbye party and David's movie. She understands that there wasn't really space in the season for her and Leonie anyway, what with Amira being robbed of 3 episodes as it was and Sara/Leonie not being besties with Amira. She was also disappointed since, once she got the Sara character (she auditioned for Mia and Kiki), she was looking forward to the original s4 storyline, but then she was written out. Tbf, while I don't think Sara and Leonie were hugely relevant to Amira's season, neither was Victoria or, like, Alex lmao, but they were still at the party while Amira's brothers weren't.
There was some other stuff about her own experience getting cast in Druck, as well as how stuff like her taking on the Emma Larzen role and the family financial struggle storyline came to be, but I find those less interesting.
