A late edition of #FootcandyFriday: The Massachusetts Historical Society has some lovely wedding shoes & dancing slippers in their collection & I was fortunate to work with them as guest curator for ‘Fashioning the New England Family’ in 2018-2019. Here, a detail of a fine ivory wool #weddingshoe with faded blue satin #silk rosette & ankle ties, straight- lasted with spring heel, c.1859. #fashioningthenewenglandfamily

Finished sock 1 at the end of my shift yesterday. The little bit of sock 2 is what i managed to get today (has been horrifically busy, barely had a minute to sit down in 10 hours 🤕). i dont remember any of the notes i made for the first sock so the second one might be a little different if i keep not having time to pull it out and count rows and stitches while im working. Anyway. Im hoping to get a lot more done tomorrow on my way to and from a doctors appointment. Need to start gift knitting soon. The hard deadline to get a start on it is my birthday, which is in less than a week xD

🐱 Cosy Kitty Cat Slipperoos  🥿
Have been thinking where else I could applique the granny square kittens I’ve discovered last year. Hehe
If you want to make your own pair:
> Super easy tutorial for slippers [knitting pattern on etsy]
> The cats [insta carousel]
> I’ve added whiskers for the cats and tassels at the back ‘cause I can
> Also, if you have tiles or or other slippery surfaces at home you might want to think of adding some soles. I’ve got some suede pieces that I’ve attached with a blanket stitch. The first pair I’ve made and wore the whole winter started wearing out on the soles becuse of carpet and friction. So pretty much, add soles no matter what.
Meow all!

Treat Your Feet: 6 Reasons Why You Should Own Felted Shoes
Did you know humans on average take eight to ten thousand steps? Add that with around 250,000 sweat glands in your feet, it produces lots of sweat in a day. Therefore, you need to take care of them more often.
Our felted shoes are the perfect way to take care of your feet. But how is that? Well, the breathability and softness of the felted shoes make the best for your feet.
The felted shoes are made of natural wool that is anti-microbial which means it prevents bacteria from spreading. Along with the moisture-absorbing ability that we stated in the previous point, felted shoes help to keep your feet dry and reduce odor.
Also, wool is hypoallergenic meaning it is unlikely to cause any allergic reaction. And made with high-quality wool that has the finest wool fiber, your feet are sure to love our felted shoes.

Sprained one of my fingers during work somehow and was very Doom and Gloom abt it bc if i cant do stuff with my hands right now i'll die. Thankfully, however, the pain is mostly when i try to straighten it and my fingers are curled when i knit so it's not a problem at all
