The third prompt for @natashanewtonart #woodlandmarch #patreonartchallenge was woodland bird. I have chosen a tropical bird instead 😅 I wanted to try out a technique by Yeates Makes over on Youtube. He used a soft pastel drawing and transferred it to a Gelli plate. I tried two times. The first was an absolute disaster (second pic). I tried to add too much detail and lost most of my macaw The second would have been perfect if I had only cleaned my Gelli plate 😅 instead I ended up with a ghost print as well as the new print. I finally pulled my finger out and have completed day two of @natashanewtonart #woodlandmarch #patreonartchallenge which was the house through the trees. For some reason my mind went to Hansel and Gretel and the witch's house made of gingerbread and sweets. I googled for some inspiration and loved the composition of a piece by Lyuba Bogan. So I based mine on her work.
