Can witches earn the same transformations as fairies in your AU or do witches have their own set of transformations/magic stages?

Witches follow their own transformation tree.

Generally speaking, there are three power levels/transformation classes: Apprentice, Witch*er and Master Witch*er, which aside from Apprentice all subdivide into specialisations.

In witchcraft practitioners can chose a specific method through which they output their powers, that will make them distinct from other users of the same or similar magic aspect. You can level through discipline classes with each power level and even learn more than one discipline. (But the overall power level stays the same, so one can’t be a Witch level Conjurer and Master Witch level something else. All chosen disciplines are levelled at the same time at the Master Witch*er Exam)

For example headmistress Griffin’s aspect is seismology, her chosen discipline blood magic and she is a master witch. Master Witch describes her power level, and lays some ground rules for her transformation (a hat and a cape). Her profession however would be called Bloodwitch and her title therefore Bloodwitch of Seismology. (Witch*ers rarely refer to each other with Master Witch*er of X titles, those are reserved for people with broad aspects and confer respect akin to admiration of a Major Fairy among fey magic users.) Optically this means exposed arms of forearms in the transformation and red teardrop shaped witch marks.

You can also double down on discipline and aspect. Shilly, whom I made the Witch of haematology in the AU could also easily be a Bloodwitch.

Another example would be Lucy whose aspect animal magic focusing on insects, but she choses to be a Potion master (title would be Potionmaster of Insects). So witchcraft is a little bit more flexible in this way.

Icy’s focus is on Conjuring, Darcy is a Mindwalker first and foremost, while Stormy puts equal focus on being a Bonesmith and a Conjurer. The looks their transformations get from this is: a lot of embroidery for the two conjurers, glasses for Darcy and leather and bone accessories for Stormy.

I by far don’t have a complete list of all witchraft disciplines down, but a few are: (some of these are more applicable to certain aspects than others, I might do another big post on witchcraft explaining it)

things happening in space and time | fantasy au.

@consilian aka how minjae is fucking up the rotation! currently!

minjae & hyuck are trapped in the dungeon of the southern seelie king yunho who has kidnapped the head of the institute kwon mina. they have been in the dungeon for almost a week after their ambush team was ambushed by the king’s spies.

humans interfering in seelie affairs is not only forbidden but is punishable by any law of the territory being encroached upon. as minjae and hyuck are in yunho’s territory he holds the bargaining chip regardless of whether he kidnapped mina first or not and he can very well kill the two with no fear of repercussion.

his reasons for kidnapping mina stem from a childhood infatuation that was deemed forbidden by the previous southern court, fueling yunho’s rage and need for power and control.

soyeon, now head of the institute in mina’s absence is working on a solution, a loophole to ask the human realm to help rescue mina, citing the efforts the institute has taken to protect human kingdoms from supernatural uprisings and the war between vampires, witches, faes and dwarves that somehow they always end up caught between. soyeon was very persuasive in citing that without the institue, they had no protection other than freelancers in need of some coin. she’s received approval and was PLANNING on meeting with the emperor first and then forcing yunho into a meeting that would allow mina’s safe return.

minjae’s plan effectively ruined that but the king still needs to know the status of things so kihyun ( a freelancer ) and jaehyun are tasked with meeting the acclaimed emperor whose existence is forever shrouded in mystery. though soyeon is unsure, there are rumors that they might need to make a show of the rumored knights to help bend king yunho’s will.

meanwhile in the human realm, the challenge to prince - soon-to-be king soohyun weighs on julee’s father. the king has given a timespan of fourteen days until the duel should take place. no one says anything but the way the days tick by, things won’t be the same for either kingdom afterwards. time is running out, increased activity has made human kingdoms desperate for protection and alliances to protect themselves from treachery in the form of witchraft. smaller kingdoms are rising up, larger kingdoms are nearing corruption and even the emperor’s name won’t be enough to hold loyalty for long.

sleep deprived self-indulgent au where yoongi is a witch specialized in dark magick (he also has his own kind of magick), he made a mistake in the past and now he looks eternally 23-24 y.o., when actually he’s over 800 y.o. he meets the gang until the 21st century but none of them know he’s a witch because you don’t go around telling people you’re a witch , and suddenly a guy is pinning after him, which yoongi wouldn’t mind if he hadn’t had the Council* on his ass. after all these years what he wants is to live a normal life (as normal as it can be) with a normal job on a music store, when he can play the piano there on his breaks. life is tough tho. ps. this is mostly humorous, because that’s what i am, a joke

met hoseok on his last week playing at a restaurant in busan, he happened to meet him again a week later as a neighbour when he was moving to his new apartment in Seoul.

they pin after each other, but they’re also idiots. also yoongi hasn’t really interacted with many people except for the socially necessary, since the last time he tried to they ended up betraying him to the Council.

#HARRY POTTER AU PLOT#

PLOT:

Set in modern day Hogwarts, 2017, prejudices aren’t prominent and the world has moved on from the dark days of Voldemort’s rise to power. While the Boy Who Lived enjoys his life as an Auror. Although, things have quieted down, there are still some leftovers who think pureblood reigns supreme and believe magic should be kept among the elites while muggle-borns should be kept separate and away from the wizarding world. However, they are the minority-- purebloods being the rarest of rare nowadays-- and with Minerva McGonagall, the current Headmistress, the doors of Hogwarts have opened their doors further to not just those with magical powers, but to the one group that is still harshly discriminated against: Squibs. Despite not possessing an ounce of magic, Squibs still need to learn how to live in a world of magic. What better place to teach them how to navigate their way around a cauldron and show them the difference between a deadly mandrake and a harmless Mumbulus Mimbletonia than Hogwarts? However, many oppose this change and thing Squibs should simply acclimate to the muggle world, but regardless of the naysayers, Hogwarts has opened its doors for the first time ever to these once overlooked members of the wizarding world. Not only that, but the school has expanded to teach higher education where students can go onto an option eighth year for specific areas of studies: Aurors Studies, Healers Studies, Quidditch Studies, and Magical Government Studies.

Following the war that culminated in You-Know-Who’s defeat, magic has progressed even more and it has been dubbed the Golden Era for Magic. Owls, a relic of the past, are no longer required and taking a leaf out of the muggle’s book, handheld devices were created to send messages, the iOwl. Coming in the shape and form of small, pygmy owls, choose from various color and species. When not in use, they appear as readily lifelike owls who need no care or feeding (and make no mess), but when activated transform into a small pocketbook with thick parchment and three sections. Messages (text messages as referred to by muggles) can then be dictated or written out with a quill and immediately sent off to friends and family. Subscriptions of The Daily Prophet can be ordered and delivered to the iOwl and notes are now easier than ever to take and access. Easy to edit and organize, the iOwl has enough space to hold 1,000 scrolls of parchment worth of notes, and all in one easy and convenient space.

While the modern wizarding world hasn’t seen trouble since the second war ended, squibs being accepted into Hogwarts is stirring up trouble. Some remain neutral. Others are in favor for, while a small minority are staunchly against this position. What side are you on?

This event is semi-mandatory, as in it is up to you whether you want to participate or not, but really hope everyone to join the fun and try something new. If you prefer not to participate and prefer to sit the RP out while the AU is happening, that’s fine. There will be no activity checks during AU week. Similarly, if you have multiple characters, and don’t want to play on all of them, feel free to pick one or two to play with and let your other characters sit out. Again, you will not be penalized as we will suspend activity checks for AU week.

For some who are worried about not being able to finish the threads within the week time we provide for this event and feel discourage to join, we’re giving everyone few days head start on plotting and creating new head canons with other players from 16 March - 21 March 2017 so when the event starts, you can jump right into the plot. We highly encourage you to use this time to actually reach out and plot with as many people, try new connections and plots, the sky is your limit.

*In This Au Their sins define the person. A person getting the sin that defines them is a big thing and it can happen any time. Everyone starts out plain emotionless, virtuous or a mix of both. A pure innocent person filled with virtue are often prayed upon since there are people who would just want them to sin either it’s something with anger, lust, pride or any other sin. People can have more than one. The sin/sins come with powers related to the sin/sins.*
