You knew that you'd lived a life of sin, all kinds of things that other people would frown upon, little sins and big ones, but you were a good person at your core, and you found yourself praying in the old, empty church. Your head was bowed, hands clasped together as you fervently prayed for your sins to be absolved.

You heard the sound of something large moving through the air, and as you looked up beside you, you saw a tall man with large wings beside you, his hand resting on your shoulder, he wore only a loose white gown that barely covered his body. You bit your lip as he leant down, pressing a kiss to your forehead, and you felt warmth flow through you.

"Absolve me." You pleaded, looking up at him with wide eyes. You leant closer, and pressed a kiss to the angel's lips.

He smiled, and you felt his aching hard cock pressing against you.

"Yes, cleanse me from the inside." You whined as he carried you up to the altar, pushing you down against it.

Context lost in translation and how that can affect Hyrulean PC faiths.

This post is heavily inspired by “Gloom vs Malice: The Untold Secrets of Gloom in Tears of the Kingdom” by QuestWithAaron on YouTube. I will be making many references to his video, including his thoughts on the Japanese texts while giving my own thoughts. His video is discussing the lore of the video games, but I will frame much of this in the context of how these revelations can relate to my own Hylian Faith and other Hyrulean based faiths.

Fans often wonder what the differences are between Malice produced and used by Calamity Ganon in Breath of the Wild and Gloom produced and used by Demon King Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom. For starters, what was localized into English Malice was the Japanese word Onnen meaning “deep-seated resentmenment.” This is a Buddhist concept referring to the essence of one’s hatred that persists throughout the cycle of death and rebirth.

Gloom was actually a rather odd choice of word chosen for the English localization. The Japanese word that was used was shouki meaning “Miasma, toxic gas, bad air.” Anyone who ever watched Inuyasha should be very well acquainted with the concept of miasma. The miasma produced by characters like Sesshomaru or Naraku is in fact quite similar in function and form to Ganondorf's gloom. This shouki becomes linked with another concept known as jyaki. Jyaki is translated literally to mean "evil energy." This evil energy is a corrupting force that can infect people. We see the effects of this evil energy throughout the Legend of Zelda series, whether it is corruption of land, demonic possession, what have you.

In the Japanese text of the game, there are two words that describe how gloom or miasma affects people. These are the words mushibamu and okasareru, which refer to an invasion of the body and spirit which deteriorates physical and mental wellbeing. However, these invasions of the mind and body by shouki and jyaki can be opposed with purification.

All of this relates heavily to a term I have spoken on before which originates in Shinto thought: kegare. This kegare, or impurity, bogs us down and separates us from our connections with divinity, whether it be our own innate divinity or our relationships with our deities. In Shinto, which was a major inpiration for the Legend of Zelda series as well as my own Hylian Faith, the Kami and humans are deeply interconnected via musubi, the power of creation or becoming. Harmony. In fact, in Tears of the Kingdom, the terminology used says that the royal family of Hyrule was born from a musubi (harmonious relationship) with a tribe of Kami, referring to the Zonai.

This gloom produced and harnessed as a weapon by Ganondorf to corrupt the land and infect the people within it served to destroy this harmonious relationship which had produced so much power of creation and peace.

While I hesitate to say whether there exist literal evil figures that seek to corrupt us and our relationships with the divine, impurity absolutely exists. Whether it is generated by our own negative thoughts or feelings, harmful actions, or even literal filth, this impurity must be purified in order to maintain harmonious relationships with divinity.

Purification is an important practice that should be used relatively often. I need to partake in this practice far often, myself. I have written of purification in past blog posts but I intend to expand on purification practices that can be used specifically in a Hyrulean PC context.

Sorta wierd story i wrote cuz i was being horny for brainwashed schoolgirls who have been trained into perfect and dilligent students, its sorta post-tf

I wake to the pulses of pleasure felt by a good student, my clock reading 4 am as I rise diligently and quickly (after all, a good student should never sleep in) I look around my once unkept room, once dominated by a large gaming computer, now a pristine bedroom with a large vanity and desk for studying at, a student just simply doesn’t have time for such time wastes as gaming, it was a sacrifice well worth the feelings studying gives me.

I make my way with a soft smile to my vanity, applying each layer of makeup with an almost artistic precision, redoing each aspect if it’s not up to the standards of a good student, then I pick out one of the uniforms to wear (depending on the season) and put on each item of clothing with an almost reverent slowness, savoring each layer, making sure the tights are just far enough up, the skirt is just the right length, and so forth.

my next activity depends on the day, if it is a class day I go to class if not I spend the day studying, one may say that spending so much time only to study alone might be unneeded, but my teachers have taught me that I am always a reflection of our school, so I must always look perfect.

Light of Blessing, Spirit Orb, and Stamina Vessel/Heart Container Ritual

Each of the orbs serve a different purpose, and it's best not to try and do all of these rituals at once. The orbs can be made of anything (crystal, metal, wood, rubber, cat toy w/e. I used marbles I found in the yard). It's a good idea to cleanse your item before you do the ritual. Doing this ritual will program this item to act as the blessing, orb, or vessel, so make sure you don't use it for unrelated rituals.

Light of Blessings are to purify and cleanse yourself of negative, unusable, and unwanted energy. Good to do as part of a routine.

Spirit Orbs are tokens of Hylia's grace used to imbue you with courage. Good to do after a huge defeat or before a challenging task. This is a transaction of power, so be prepared with an offering.

Stamina Vessels and Heart Containers are to restore your energy, especially if there is a specific issue draining you. Good for when you've lost motivation. Also a transaction of power but the source is more universal than straight from the Goddess. You will get what you put in! Good to do as part of a routine as well.

You will need:

Orb/Object you can hold in your hands

Shrine/Designated area for orb (bowl, pedestal, stand, bag)

Offering (candle, incense, food, etc)

Prep:

This is going to be a mainly meditation-based ritual so make sure you have a non-distracting area to do this. For a more ceremonial feel, wear white loose-fitting clothing. for the MOST ceremonial feel, wear a head covering.

Ritual:

Light your candles and incense if that is your offering. Set out any food or objects for offering in front of you. Sit or stand in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and take deep breaths, keeping your body loose but not limp.

Once you feel you have found a steady breathing rhythm, take your orb and fold your hands around it, close to your chest and pray.

[FOR LIGHT BLESSING

Light of Blessing, holy relic that imprisons and purifies ancient evil, may you shine upon me so I may be cleansed.

Take your orb and rub it in circles around your chest, imagining the negative energy being released from your body and absorbed into the orb. Feel free to cry, sing, stomp, jump, etc, whatever your body does to release energy.

Once you are ready, hold the orb in both of your hands. Take a deep breath and SLOWLY pull your hands away from your chest, still holding the orb. Imagine the negative energy being pulled away from your body. When your arms are fully outstretched, open your hands and offer the orb to its designated spot.

End the ritual by saying 'May you grant the strength I seek'.

LEAVE the orb until the next day/night change, so if you do this in the morning, wait for the sun to go down, if you do this at night, wait for the sun to come up, or however long you feel it takes for the orb to purify your energy. After that, you are now free to meditate with the orb, carrying it around, etc etc, but don't forget to repeat the process when it starts to feel heavy or your energy is wack.]

[FOR SPIRIT ORB

Goddess Hylia, I bring these offerings so you may grant me the courage to face the adversities ahead.

Meditate with the orb, tell her of the challenge you are going to face and what your best case scenario would be. Courage comes in many forms, it may be the courage to stand up for yourself, the courage to fail and learn, or the courage to walk away.

Once you are ready, open your palms to cradle the orb. Take a deep breath and slowly raise it up as high as you are comfortable holding. Imagine Her light pouring into the orb.

Once you are ready, slowly lower your hands back down, placing the orb against your chest.

End the ritual by saying 'May you smile upon me in my time of need'

You are now free to take this orb with you, meditate etc. Dispose of your offerings properly (burning,burying, eating, garbage can, etc)]

[FOR STAMINA VESSEL/HEART CONTAINER

Goddess Hylia, please bless me with the vitality to endure so that I may continue my quest for peace and balance.

Take your orb and rub it in between your hands, meditating on drawing in energy to you. If it helps, imagine hearts being added to your health meter and more rings added to your stamina wheel. Rub the orb as fast or as slow as you feel necessary.

Once you are ready/hands are tired, hold the orb still against your chest. Take a few deep breaths.

End the ritual by saying 'I shall go forth and bring peace to the land'.

You are now free to take this orb with you, leave it on an altar, etc. ]
