I've really be into tequila lately. I found out about the very affordable @lunazultequila. A liter is only around $ 20.00. It's great for margaritas especially with a bit of @grandmarnierusa. Luna Azul means "blue moon". The tequila was founded by a seventh generation descendant of Jose Cuervo. While he sold his stake in the company, he kept his share of agave fields to produce his own tequila. I'll keep it real the fact that it is so affordable made me side eye. But it 's a wonderful tequila for cocktails. So, when you are entertaining or someone says bring tequila...get this one. PS: They don't used GMO or cloned agave. 💬 Will you be watching Shadow and Bone on Netflix? | I had planned to read Siege & Storm and Ruin & Rising before giving the series a proper binge, but I changed my mind in favor of a watch party with some cool internet ladies. Because no watch party is complete without snacks and drinks, I came up with some ideas for themed cocktails: The Darkling: A Black Russian with maple for immortality and cinnamon for energy and lust (because helloooo Ben Barnes) 1.5 oz vodka 1/2 oz coffee liqueur 1/2 tbsp cinnamon-infused maple syrup* Optional- a dash of your favorite bitters The Sun Summoner: A Lemon Drop with lavender for protection and chamomile to imbue with the sun's power Granulated sugar to rim the glass 2 oz vodka 1 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice 1 tbsp chamomile lavender syrup** 1 lemon wheel for garnish *Place 4 oz maple syrup, 1 oz water, and 1 stick of cinnamon in a saucepan. Boil on medium heat. When reduced to half, remove from heat and let cool. Store the liquid in a bottle **Place 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 1 tbsp dried chamomile flowers, and 1/2 tsp dried lavender buds in a saucepan. Boil on medium heat until reduced to half. Let cool before storing in refrigerator. I think a part of me wants to be in Italy. It's a pasta and Prosecco night. To kick it off, I'm starting with a cocktail. I'm totally missing the apertivo menu at Cecconi's in Dumbo so I decided to make myself a Negroni Sbagliato. It's perfect to close out a Friday. If you dig a Negroni , it's going to be your jam! You only need three ingredients or four if you want to do a garnish. Negroni Sbagliato   Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces sweet vermouth 1 1/2 ounces Campari 1 1/2 ounces Prosecco (going with Mionetto) Fill a sexy glass with ice. Add vermouth and Campari and stir. Today is a great day for a Sparkling Negroni.. okay every day is.  I always love a Negroni, but since it's #SparklingWineSunday, adding a little bubbles is the way to go.. The gin for this one is  Madam Pattirini, a gin from Ogden's Own Distillery based in Utah. I was sent a sample to test it out. The gin is inspired by Brigham Morris Young. Who was this interesting person?  Young publicly  performed in drag as a singer under the pseudonym "Madam Pattirini” - an Italian opera diva. From the 1880s to the early 1900s, Morris appeared frequently in his drag persona.The gin is so small batched that fewer than 1,000 bottles are produced at a time. All bottles are numbered by the batch and bottle. Always top this cocktail with a good sparkling wine such as  Luminore by Lamarca Processo. It's a higer end processo that will give your drink a touch of bubbly elegance.. Get it in , cin cin! Sparkling Negroni 2 ounces Campari 2 ounces sweet vermouth 2 ounces gin Sparkling wine, prosecco or champagne, to finish Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add in your Campari, sweet vermouth and gin. Stir for 5 seconds, until mix is cold. Strain and pour in chilled glasses. Coming in hot is a sample of Ginquila from Skeptic Distillery, a craft distillery in the' outskirts of Chicago. Shout out Chi-Town. This Ginquila is inspired by a cocktail called the Cantarito, a Paloma style cocktail served in a clay pot. Skeptic has infused a gin base with fresh tropical fruit and spices including papaya, grapefruit, orange, lime, cinnamon, thyme, and Chipotle and Arbol peppers. Consider me interested. Sounds like an interesting libation. I will report back. I think this sounds like something I'll be having neat.
