*Tears fall from Wilford eyes*

Dark: But you were hurt. Badly hurt.

Wilford: How did you stop hurting?

*Dark looks at him with shock then he hugs Wilford as tears fall slowly*

Little Alice: Do you think I could meet her too like you’re other friends?

*Wilford smiles at her sadly*

Wilford: Maybe one day…she’s sleeping for now.

Wilford: C’mon, never mind that Dark is waiting.

*Wilford grabs Alice’s hand and they walk back to the tea table*

I love the Wilford Motherloving Warfstache short film so much and I kind of wish there were more similar lore shorts. Just everything about it works: the acting, the comedy, the gradual realisation as Abe and the audience start to understand at the same time. Plus Wilford is really at his best here. He's goofy, he plays so casually with his powers like telepathy and teleporting, but he still has hints of William underneath. And the way the scenes turn to bright colour from black and white when he appears, then to a pretty neutral when it's just the two of them, then back to full colour when Abe let's go and accepts the truth. Beautiful, all beautiful.

I just re watched WKM, DAMIEN and WMW and I was over analysing characters, specifically the Colonel.

I realised that in multiple scenes, he gets really vulnerable (upset, in shock, etc.) but then he acts really defensive.

Example:

This is the scene where Damien walks in on the two pointing guns at eachother. William is shocked and kinda looks guilty, afraid in a way, but he quickly gets defensive.

Another example:

During this same scene, the Chef bonks William on the head. During this, William backs away, ducks down and, to me, looks intimidated, but he quickly acts defensive again.

Another example:

During the start of Chapter 4, Benjamin tells William to do the right thing, when he says this William looks absolutely shocked, gobsmacked, sad and possibly even afraid. But, after Benjamin finishes speaking, he quickly acts defensive again.

One more example:

When we wake up after the upside down scene, he actually acts shocked and sad when we're awake, but he quickly gets defensive again claiming that he didn't do it etc.

Personally, I feel like the Colonel is one who doesn't like to act all weak and vulnerable in front of others and instead in a room alone. This is most likely because he is a Colonel, an army man who is supposed to be intimidating and tough. This could also be because of the time WKM is set in, which is 1931 I believe, and I'm pretty sure that during those times, men were seen as tough and they never showed their feelings in front of others otherwise they were seen as weak.

I dunno if anyone has addressed this before but I decided to.

i keep thinking abt how mark was like 27/28 when wkm came out. not in a "wow he made smth like that at such a young age??" way, though that is cool, but in a Lore Implications way.

dames, celine, william, the DA? they were all around the same age. their lives fell apart so quickly, and just fuckin. Disappeared off the face of the earth.

they probably had parents, relatives, friends who missed them and mourned and died a long time ago with no idea where they were or what happened. no closure.

jesus christ dude, damien was the MAYOR. and he just vanished without a trace? god knows what the masses thought about that-

we're all so focused on the tragedies happening within the manor walls, understandably. but no one ever thinks about those who lived with the butterfly effects of that night.

#i know bc of the Benjamin stream from back in the day that Dark kinda paraded around in the DA's skin for a while #but after that they probably disappeared too #.... actually from a much less tragic perspective- #imagine the DA and the Mayor who are documented close friends disappear around the same time?? #there were probably tabloids who printed front page issues about “MAYOR AND ATTORNEY SECRET LOVE AFFAIR!!
