What and How
*************************
For the mystic what is how. For the craftsman how is what. For the artist what and how are one.

This is one of my works in 2015!
From Rene Magritte to William McElcheran: The Evolution of the Bourgeoise (Mix Media & Collage on Canvas, 2015)
I mapped the idea by going back to Rene Magritte's painting “Son of Man” (1964) and the “False Mirror” (1928) and connected it to William McElcheran's sculpture The “Encounter” (1986) which is now located at back of York's Student Centre. Basically the ideal "man" in a capitalist society has changed from the high aiming upper class to the "Encounter" where two characters bump into each other and realize how alike they are--- how society has conformed us into the idealized upper class (Bourgeoise) model to the point where there is very little distinction between characters which depicts the triumph of capitalism. The "evolution" of the ideal white collar/business man (Bourgeoise) is a social commentary about the way/s in which the ideals of a modern capitalist society from the 1920s prevailed and continuously evolves to permeate post-modernism.
