Lucy feels self-conscious about her pajamas. Lockwood has some thoughts. Read on AO3.

Lucy takes a deep breath in the mirror and steels herself to walk downstairs, which is ridiculous, because it’s her own bloody house and she’s entitled to eat breakfast in her pajamas, and she shouldn’t have to think twice about it. But there’s bound to be commentary awaiting her.

George merely looks her up and down before settling on, “If this is some kind of bid to get me to wear pants, it’s not going to happen. You and Lockwood can live your fancy pajama life alone.”

Lockwood was making toast, but the mention of his name and ‘fancy pajamas’ captures his attention, turning slowly to take in the scene. His eyes go a bit wide and his mouth drops open, toast hanging similarly limply from his fingers. Lucy stares at it, waiting for it to fall to the floor.

He clears his throat awkwardly. “Uh, nice pajamas, Luce. You look…uh. Nice.”

Well, that went about as well as she could have hoped.

She swallows thickly then presses forward, cutting through the tension like a rapier through a Wraith. “Thanks. That toast for me, then?” Plucking it neatly from his hand, she takes a bite and turns to the table, using her foot to prod George’s legs from her chair. “Shove over, George. I’m starving.”

Eating breakfast in them is nice, and Lucy feels a sort of smug satisfaction when Holly does a double take. “New pajamas, Lucy? That color is so lovely on you.”

Feeling unusually grown-up and put together, Lucy bites daintily into her toast and stirs her tea with care. She’s like a new woman.

Tease Tidbit Tuesday ✨

tagged by @exhuastedpigeon <3 I did just post a completed fic yesterday *cough* here *cough* so this is from my next WIP that I'm starting the immediately just in case the muses run off on me 😅 it's a sentinel/guide au spanning season 2 forward.

Buck had a fairly turbulent year with the 118 as a probie. During the first 6 months he made more than one poor choice, both on duty and off. Everything changed at the halfway point when he came online as a sentinel. After that, he was too busy figuring out how he was going to stay a firefighter, and if/how he was going to find a guide, to get into too much trouble. To the point where he really thought in the last month or so that he was proving to his captain and the other firefighters on his shift that he is someone they can trust to have their backs. He thought they were starting to see him as a key part of the team. He certainly thought they saw him as a friend.

Then they all assumed he was dating multiple women online despite his protests that he wasn’t dating anyone now that he was online as a sentinel, let alone multiple women at once.

And then his promotion to full firefighter came and went without any kind of acknowledgement from anyone other than Bobby, and he realized maybe he wasn’t as close to his team as he thought.

lowkey i had a headcanon that robin's maternal grandparents immigrated to the us from france. and though robin's mom had learned french growing up, she ended up losing most of her ability to speak it because there was no one to speak it to, other than her own parents, and she partly also wanted to assimilate. her parents would ask her questions in french and she'd respond back in english.

but robin had always noticed that her mom would get a little sad whenever she talked about her disconnect with her family because of it. so she decided to start learning french with her mom, as a bonding activity. and there's nothing that compares to the light in her mom's eyes when she and robin are finally able to communicate in french with robin's grandparents.
