really disappointing that bunjywunjy had to be pestered twice just to quietly remove their reblog after using their huge platform to encourage garbage like raving about the lesbian estonian soviet flag and how 'new pride flag just dropped' so people could go 'ooh pretty' about a flag that was forced onto us by ppl who wanted our culture gone and oppressed us for about a century in total if not more.
to say nothing or not show anything of the truth about that flag and quietly remove the reblog felt more like it was done out of obligation (and you didn't agree) rather than care for the subject matter that is still a fresh wound in our country's memory. it's only been 33 years since it ended.
I'd rather you make the mistake about something you didn't know (eastern european history is easy for westeners to overlook, because we're not a big country like them, we're not england or france or spain or germany) and admit/apologize for said mistake or even just outright state that you don't actually care rather than say nothing and quietly remove something so that people would stop talking about it

ok like I’m sorry but I DONT get how European/North American people (and I’m only talking about people with the financial means of course, and this also usually extends to people who consider themselves avid travelers) just skip Asia?? because it’s “too far”???? like bitch we have airplanes you can get anywhere in the world in 24 hours or less find a new excuse

Me and my sister were having a casual conversation and came up to a conclusion about Western Europe thats basically
“Western Europe (excluding Ireland, we all love Ireland in this household) were people that were oppressed by their own kingdoms, then they decided to go to countries that were not oppressed by their own kingdoms and oppress them”
And honestly? We’re not wrong and you cannot convince me otherwise

Incredibile come io sia tornata in Italia da 1 ora e mezza e i miei livelli di serotonina siano già alle stelle. Hell country but also casa mia

I should stop going on instagram. Why are people always so mean in the comments ?
I was just watching a video of a french grandma sharing her roasted chicken recipe (it's almost the same as my grandpa's so it made me smile cause I know it's good) and almost everyone in the comments was awful. Lot of people calling it unseasoned (it wasn't) and disgusting and lot of people getting defensive about it and therefore insulting other countries cuisine.
Like first of all why are people judging other culture's cooking, the philosophies are different, and second of all why do people have the urge to comment on everything ? Why don't they just ignore it ? It makes me a little sad.

This has been eye opening for my real life contacts, like who is speaking up and sharing information and who won't stop fucking travel blogging for five minutes to say something, anything. I feel equally heartened by the many people I know who are fighting and equally disheartened by all the people I know who are intentionally looking the other way
