#while ben and the C4
Undertale Yellow Car Headcanons 2
People liked the first one, so I figured I'd go do a few more to cover some folks I missed and add some extras for ones I already covered. Kudos to a friend on Discord who's a massive car nut and suggested quite a few of these. First one in case you haven't seen it. This one's a bit chonkier, so grab a snack or something.
Martlet: Electric Bike
Tumblr media
Even if Martlet getting her hands on a driver's license is nigh impossible, we figured she should at least have something, even if she doesn't use it that much. Electric bikes seem to fit her style. Dunno if she'd use it often, but if the surface has no-fly laws or whatever, it'd probably help her out some.
Toriel: 2CV
Tumblr media
...okay, Tori isn't really a UTY-exclusive character, but she has a minor role in the game, so does she count? Anyway, my friend had the idea of her using what they described as 'everybody's favorite little wine snail' and I think it fits her too well.
Chujin: Loud Ass 90s Tuner Car
Tumblr media
If Chujin didn't inject raw Mountain Dew Voltage into his soul and survived to see the surface, he'd probably drive something like this. It ties in with the whole Ben 10 thing and it's a great way to express himself, as obnoxious as it may be. Usually, Ceroba makes him drive the family sedan.
Ceroba: If She Owned the Hummer (Semi-Joke one)
Tumblr media
I meant for it as a shitpost, but we thought up an idea if she actually did own the car. Don't worry, she always looks before merging. Anyway, we figured she got it mainly because it's pretty cool. However, it is a massive waste of gas money, so she only uses it for camping or driving Kanako and Clover around on their birthdays. Otherwise, it mainly collects dust in her garage while she uses the more fuel-efficient sedan.
El Bailador: Lowrider
Tumblr media
Kudos to @cheddarchandelure for suggesting this and it couldn't fit any better. Lowriders fit him like a glove. You know he just has this thing modded like crazy. It's nearly 20 feet of car, too. You don't get much more expressive than that.
Feisty Five: GMC Vandura
Tumblr media
I gave the Feisty Five individual vehicles, but they also kinda need a car for the whole gang and what better vehicle for a group of crime fighting dinguses. Perfect for missions, lassons, or just hanging out as a group together. Starlo technically owns it, but usually Moray or Ace drive the thing.
Ace: Antique Mercedes
Tumblr media
Okay, I know I technically already did Ace in the first part, but my friend suggested an Antique Mercedes, which I think fits a lot better than the Porche. I'll let you guys draw your own conclusions, tho.
Moray: SLK Roadster
Tumblr media
Still a convertible, but I didn't like the image I used in the last one. So now we got a specific model for our favorite fish with no gender.
Mooch: Pretty Much Anything, but here's a Corolla
Tumblr media
On the chance that Mooch somehow gets her license back, she'd be willing to drive whatever. Hopefully more responsibly this time around.
Dina: 5th Gen Mustang
Tumblr media
My friend suggested that a classier style of muscle car would fit better than the more aggressive model I used in the first, and I think it suits her more laid-back nature well.
Blackjack: Antique Flatbed
Tumblr media
It's been in his family for generations, and he's way too attached to the thing to get rid of it. Generally, he just fixes up anything that breaks down on him.
Starlo's Family: Uh...Trucks
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main workhorses for the Sunnyside Farm. Sure, they got a few dents and aren't the cleanest or most advanced, but hey, they get the job done. Mainly driven by Solomon and Orion, occasionally Starlo. The Cabover (bottom) is generally used for the big harvests and the pickup works for everything else.
Mo: C4 Corvette
Tumblr media
The perfect car for a sleazy businessman! Well, not sleazy, but you get what I mean. He likes to act stylish with his choice of car, but his is constantly breaking down mechanically, since he doesn't really bother fixing the thing, just detailing it. Doesn't leave the best impressions for shoppers.
Honeydew Shopkeeper: Figaro
Tumblr media
Why? Well, simple, it's small and cute, just like she is! Not much else to say beyond that.
Kanako: '70 Dodge Challenger
Tumblr media
Kanako's still a bit too young to drive, but we settled on this for a dream car of hers, with both a road and track package. She got the idea from both the racing games she plays and Dina's own muscle car. Nobody understands why, But she really wants to visit San Francisco with it
Clover: Ford Galaxie Convertible
Tumblr media
Figured we should do Clover's dream car as well. Not much a reasoning, we thought this just fit their style. Once they come of age, you know darn well they'll be racing Kanako.
Warned ya that would be a big one! Anyway, lemme know what y'all think!

So I have the books that take place before and in between the movies and the books that are the movies.
What other books that are about the descendants universe should I get?
some of the 'in universe' books are good, like Uma's wicked book(the best side book because it doesn't contradict anything from the movies and instead only deepens the sea 3s characters) Evies fashion book(aka the sketchbook we see in D2 that dizzy kept except somehow Evie grabbed it and then started putting all her d2 designs in it, its actually cute and holds all the actual designs for the movie that the designers did), those two are easily the best of the 'in universe' side books, i own most of em and they're all pretty good, the only ones that are like ?????? are any of the D3 side books, like the vk guide book for new vks, Audrey’s diary, and magic of friendship, which all just kinda turn into 'Mal love' books, esp Audrey’s diary and thr magic of friendship books, so while Audrey’s diary provides insight to her character from d1 to d3, it also includes Mal and immediately prevents Mal from taking any accountability, even when she TRIES to, the writers made Evie brush it off so Mal doesnt feel bad about the wrong shit she did like DRUG BEN AND ACTUALLY STEAL HIM FROM AUDREY.
sorry this turned into a 'fuck the pedestal the writers put Mal on' thing u didnt ask for that
some of the D1 side books are good and light hearted, theres a yearbook one, a spirit day book, a secrets of Auradon prep book, Mals spell book which has some of the spells used in D1 and just has the c4 scribbling all over the oh so important spell book of Maleficent. theres also a D2 scrapbook that includes Uma's perspective, but yeah, D2 books? get, the D1 books are light-hearted and have a good chunk of content in it like in universe classes and character info, and the D3 books are....interesting??? if you care about character consistency and lore consistency or hate Mal, dont bother 😵‍💫 otherwise, the side books are pretty worth it :D

Another question: what's the whole point of VK Day and why is Mal and co deciding who should be coming to Auradon or not instead of Ben, the 'king' himself? It's like giving applications to SA victims to seek refuge.
Also, I see where you're coming from with Lonnie. The poor girl was written so poorly that they, the writers don't even bother to include her in the disastrous 'wedding'. I think she and Audrey were never close, so maybe she wasn't so quick to defend Audrey, but still she could have done something. In addition, I was reading a response to a ask I sent in terms how the writers treated Lonnie and this person says Lonnie was this 'token Asian' that was forced in descendants.
As for Audrey, I believe she was suffering from a lot of trauma and genuinely needed help. She was neglected by her parents, her grandmother emotional manipulate and abuse her, Ben openly cheats on her with Mal...it's too much for her to bear. Agree?
I'm pretty sure the point of VK Day was because nobody wanted to go, the movie contrasted from the books in this regard. In the books they make a dumb system 'to be fair' to the kids who wanted to come to Auradon that they have to apply. (This is dumb because the C4 who were the worst ones on the Isle got hand picked and ended up living the best lives in Auradon while the kids they terrorized watched.) They didn't want special treatment given to particular kids (Which happened anyway because Dizzy, the one Evie wanted off got picked ) but when they realized nobody was really applying VK day was created to like hype up the kids to apply. But there's other dumb things involved like, they had to say something about their favorite C4 member....You mean the Isle bullies(Mal really but you know the C4 was a gang altogether) , you're asking kids applying for freedom which of their former tormenters were their favorite? Then I believe there was something about parent's permission which in a normal situation that's like duh of course but it was canon that most villain parents were abusive until D3. So why would actively abusive parents let them get away from them?? Whole thing was stupid and they should've just left Ben in charge because at least when he was the only one running it was no apply for freedom bs.
As for why the C4 were even in charge that my friend I have no idea why because there's literally no reason to. It would make sense for Evie out of the four to be involved because she wanted to get involved after D2 but the other 3 especially Mal who showed a complete lack of care to anybody on the Isle, no idea why they decided to get involved. Not only get involved but to completely become the face of the program. In D3 streets were named after them, kids were shouting for them and for what?? Literally cannot figure out why, it would make sense for kids to hate them seeing as how if Auradon was ruled by someone not as kind, they would've ruined the chances of them even being freed multiple times. They also had no actual political power in Auradon, Mal got what she had because she was Ben's girlfriend and the other three were her best friends so they got special treatment. Why are they now having heavy involvement in the freeing of the others kids who again they terrorized when they were in a gang on the Isle. So why all of a sudden kids love them and are cheering them for 'paving the way' is just fan service at this point. I heard no one shouting their love for King Ben the person who they actually would be freed by and started the whole program, not one peep.
Not sure about the books, but in Audrey's diary she regards Jane and Lonnie as her closet friends who she would eat with frequently. To me it's more about her relationship with Ben, like okay let's say she wasn't as close with Audrey, she definitely wasn't too close with Mal at this point either so maybe she was being happy for Ben. But no next time it happens she takes Mal's side and pretty much shows no regard for Ben in that scene. Even with her sub-plot it was very generic, there's just very inconsistent writing going on with Lonnie so I can see why people say she's the token Asian because she really wasn't given much to do or say at all she was just there.
Audrey was failed by everyone in Auradon really. That's why I've always believed firmly the adults should've held themselves responsible in D3. I don't even think it's the cheating that really broke her, it hurt her a lot for sure. I hate that people act like they were just a high school relationship, he was. along with the other Aks was her life partner and was dropped and betrayed just like that with no reason.(From her POV until she found out he was drugged) But I really think it was the isolation, and berating that she got afterwards that really contributed to it. Her own grandmother even after seeing her react to the engagement instead of comforting her, berated her like it was her fault. So I definitely agree, even at the even of D3 Audrey's story doesn't feel over. Like how is she supposed to just live in peace with all of them after that? That's why in my mind she always ends up leaving Auradon and creating a new life, because how would she be friends again with people who treated her so poorly?

what don’t you like about descendants?
lmao how much time you got?
only kidding. my biggest gripe is how weak the narrative got after the first film. i think it would have been great for d2, d3, and d4 to each be a film of one of the other c4 and explored their perspectives, challenges, and feelings as they did with mal in the first films. it would’ve given more guts to their friendship, dynamic, and also provided audiences to still view and enjoy shots of mal as a friend to the others, plus all the development of the others lives we never got to see. evie with doug and 4hearts, carlos with overcoming his fear of other dogs + growing desire to enter the veterinary business and jay’s experience with tourney and swords and shields, how he became captain and how he developed his leadership skills going from a grunt that just wants to be the fist, to the guy leading the charge and providing the opportunity for teamwork. the whole time there being clear evidence of ben working on bringing more kids from the isle to auradon, while it wouldn’t be the whole focus it would still be there.
also, i would have maintained the subtext of abusive parents and overcoming/healing from trauma and unlearning trauma responses.
within the same vein, getting a movie entirely from uma’s perspective between d2 and d3, taking place on the isle, documenting how she took over mal’s old beat and expanded her own territory, provided clear flashbacks of their rivalry as well as establish her dynamic with the crew but specifically harry and gil. explored the relationship between them and their parents and the parallel of the c4 having escaped their parents vs the sea3 having to endure their own.
there’s a whole lot of other stuff i don’t like about the franchise but i’m not going to get into it lmao

Tyre preview: Pirelli delivers exciting tyre allocation for Spa
Tyre preview: Pirelli delivers exciting tyre allocation for Spa By Balazs Szabo on 27 Jul 2023, 12:00 Formula One’s tyre supplier Pirelli will provide teams and drivers with an exciting tyre allocation for this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, bringing some of the softer compounds of their range to Spa. After using the three softest compounds at last weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, teams will have similarly soft compounds to work with as the field heads to Spa. Pirelli has nominated the the C2 as P Zero White hard, C3 as P Zero Yellow medium and C4 as P Zero Red soft for the Belgian Grand Prix. Following the alternative tyre allocation that made its debut at the Hungarian Grand Prix, drivers will once again have 13 sets of slick tyres instead of 11 sets. However, the weather conditions could mean that slick tyres will hardly come to action with rain expected to multiple phases of the race weekend. The tyre selection is the same as it was last year, meaning that teams can build on the data and experience they gained a year ago. However, it is an exciting choice considering the nature of the 7.004km Spa circuit. The longest track on the Formula One calendar Francorchamps is a circuit where the tyres are subjected to considerable forces. The most challenging part for tyres is the compression at Eau Rouge followed by the climb up to Raidillon: consisting of a high speed left-hand turn, where the downforce squashes the car into the ground, followed by another high-speed right-left kink where the car goes light at the top of the hill onto the Kemmel straight. The circuit also had the biggest difference in elevation of any track all year. The highest point is at Malmedy (around 468 metres above sea level) while the lowest is Paul Frere (around 366 metres above sea level). That’s a difference of 102.2 metres: more than the height of the Big Ben clock tower in London. As for the strategy, nearly all the teams opted for a two-stop strategy last year with all three compounds having been used throughout the 2022 Spa F1 race. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen lined up 14th on the grid after a penalty but won the race with a great fightback, starting on the softs and then completing two stints on the medium. After relatively low pressure limits at the twisty and slow Hungaroring, Pirelli will mandate high minimum starting pressures at Spa which has been a norm for the Milan-based manufacturer on high-speed tracks. For the front tyre, the minimum starting pressure will be set at 25.0 psi while the rear pressure limits will be set at 23.0 psi. The camber limits will be -2.75° for the front tyres and -1.50° for the rear tyres. via F1Technical.net . Motorsport news https://www.f1technical.net/news/

Quantum Leap Revival Review – “July 13th, 1985”
Finally deciding to sit down and watch the first episode of the new Quantum Leap series, I find I’ve got the first three episodes saved to my DVR; so I guess I’m in for a mini-marathon.
Right off the bat, I’m a little disappointed to see the first episode is only an hour long with commercials.  It actually makes me realize that, I guess they just don’t make two part series premieres anymore; and that’s a little disappointing.  Just diving into a bigger than life concept, like someone bouncing around in time, much less going back to such a story, you should arguably plan on doing some world building; and for that, you need time, so to speak.
But let’s see how it goes.
The engagement party for Ben and Addison is… okay  It feels a little cliched, but it works to the extent of introducing the main cast of characters all at once; even if a little convenient.  One effective thing about this, and I’m not sure if it’s a credit to the writers, the director Ernie Hudson himself, but from his first line as Magic, I like him more than I expected to based on some promotional material; where I got the impression he was going to play more the gruff military type - barking orders, wanting results and always at odds with the main characters.  The casual mention of them working on a top secret time travel project seems… casual.  But I guess if you’re working on a top secret time travel project, that’s just sort of the reality you live in.
I will give the show credit for not dragging out Ben leaping.  Plenty of shows probably would have spent half the episode teasing the project before Ben even stepped foot in the accelerator, but they’re cutting to the chase.
I have mixed feelings about the accelerator chamber, because on the one hand, the original did kind of give the impression of it being this big mechanical chamber; and it stands to reason there’d be a lot of moving parts for a device that can send someone back in time.  But on the other hand, this kind of seems like big shiny effects for the sake of showing some big shiny effects.
And then Ben leaps and it’s very mundane – the transition, that is. The circumstances are anything but, because Ben has leaped into a getaway driver mid-heist. But in terms of the leap, he just sort of sneezes and he's sitting in a car.
Okay, I get it, Sam often leaped into the most awkward situations.  He even leaped into a bank robbery in his own hometown once, but this seems a little much. Especially for a first episode, because they still haven't had the chance to bring the audience completely into the know; and Addison finds him very quickly, and we’re already off to the races – literally, with Ben driving the getaway van, while avoiding police and having no idea how to drive a manual.
But once they’re safe and sound, we’re going to get a better explanation for Ben about what’s happened, other than his name and that he’s from the future, right? The show's not going to lean too heavily into the audience knowing all the ins and outs of the previous series?  We’ll get a new take on the “string theory” of time travel – the string representing one’s own lifetime, one end representing your birth, the other your death; and the two ends touch and your life is a loop.  Ball the loop and the different points of your life touch out of sequence, allowing the leaper to travel between those points within their lifetime?
No?  (Sigh)  Alright.  We’re at least going to learn about the people Ben’s interacting with, right?  No?  How about some exposition from Ziggy, by way of Addison on these people planning this heist to… (sigh) steal the Hope Diamond, using a shit ton of C4…(sigh) Fucking hell. Alright, we’re going to learn anything at all about these antagonists other than, they’re stereotypical bad guys lifted from I’m assuming a Peirce Brosnan Bond movie; and something about their motivations or their weaknesses that might be exploited later?  No???
What are we going to learn about?  Oh, Addison learns from Ziggy that diamond smuggler’s going to get arrested in a couple of years for his Cayman Island accounts; which the smuggler is dumbfounded Ben(-ish) knows about, because who could have guessed a shady double crossing diamond smuggler would have an offshore account in the Cayman Islands…?? (sigh)
How about the reason Ben’s there?  Oh, this guy he meets, who’s part of the heist is doing it because wife needs dialysis.  And we get to meet the wife and their daughter exactly once to drive the single most important part of the plot; and it was done in such a casual way, I honestly didn’t realize it was the wife who was coming back from dialysis, rather than their daughter; until later in the episode when they mention the guy and the wife dying and the daughter losing both of her parents. But then surprise, the person Ben leaped into turned out to be an undercover cop – which, okay, that could have been a great twist, if it meant anything more to the plot than a reason for the bad guys to tie him up.  There was no implication of this beforehand, other than MAYBE an offhand mention that they couldn’t find anything on the alias the cop using.  No handler or partner trying to make contact with Ben.  What's more, the guy Ben leaped into should be in the present day in the Waiting Room; so why isn't the team talking to him?
Maybe the guy Ben was supposed to save could have been his partner, adding another layer to that aspect of the plot and would better explain why he gets killed in the original history.  But Ben gets zip tied in a storage room or something, and it takes him like a minute to escape, because for some reason the bad guys don’t just kill him (which they note later they should have done, as a Bond villain always says...) it’s the epitome of “super easy, barely an inconvenience,” and mostly serves as an excuse for Addison to say she was the one who was supposed to leap.
Ben escapes and makes it to the gala or whatever it is where they plan to steal the Hope Diamond – with a fuck ton of C4… and they’re okay if they don’t kill anyone, so long as they get the diamond, but they don’t care if they do kill anyone, because again, generic bad guys stealing the Hope fucking Diamond, somehow using explosive. And they never get caught.
And, oh, yeah, actually it was successfully stolen back then in the original history and covered up; thanks Magic.
So then Ben finds… “Guy” – I don’t remember what his name was. I don’t feel like looking it up.  The show didn’t care enough to make me care enough about him to remember his name; and gave him such a generic personality, they might as well have named him Guy.  So Ben finds… him.. and begs him not to go through with… it.  What this guy is supposed to do or how he’s apart of this crack team of criminals, when he’s just a guy that owned a restaurant and is wracked with medical bills, is not even sort of clear. Or, you know, why the restaurant wasn't doing well enough to be a solution, but was good enough to mortgage... who the fuck knows what this guy's deal is, because they don't bother to do more than skim the surface.  But Ben’s here to tell him not to do, and there’s got to be another way.
He doesn’t have an alternative to offer him, mind you.  Objectively, Ben is probably right, that…crime is not the answer, but Ben’s not real forthcoming with what the answer should be.  Keep in mind that this guy doesn’t even know the person Ben leaped into, seeing he was apparently an undercover cop, who orchestrated things to get in on the job at the last minute.  We also haven’t spent enough time with these two characters to develop any sort of rapport, other than Ben meeting Guy's wife and daughter once.
That’s something the original series did best, and was arguably the core essence of the show.  Sam would leap into these people's lives, have to figure out the nature of the relationships he had with the people around him; and then make these deep rooted connections with the people he was there to help, all within the timeframe of a single episode. And he did.
One of the chief hurdles with this is the team back at Project Quantum Leap.  I don’t hate that we get to see more of them and that they’re fleshing out this background.  But long before this series was even developed, being not only a fan, but a wannabe writer myself, I gave the potential premise a lot of thought. I was inclined to give the present day its share of focus, but I was also cognizant of the fact that doing so would mean less time for the core plot; and a balance would have to be found to ensure that neither suffered.  That didn’t happen here.  The plot of who Ben leaped into, the time period and circumstances and what he was there to do was not nearly fleshed out enough; and neither was the scenes at Project Quantum Leap.  Of course the latter has time, so to speak, to gradually build up that world.  But the only name I remembered, besides Ben’s, was Magic’s; and only because it’s clear that this is the same guy that Sam leaped into in “The Leap Home Part 2”.  I even had to look up Addison’s name.
The plot in the past wraps up with only a little fanfare.  One of the bad guys (who “knew they should have killed him” when they saw Ben had escaped) fires a gun into the crowd/ceiling, just for the sake of causing a panic and making everyone flee, while putting them at greater risk of the bomb going off.
But for all of that C4, they only put it in one place… But no worries, Ben’s going to throw it down a manhole; just in time for it to go off and Ben and Guy can fling themselves at the camera with a cool explosion behind them.
And then Ben leaps. The effect was… fine.  Even the original series didn’t get the leaping effect down to what it eventually would be in the early episodes, but knowing what it did become, this doesn’t quite do it justice. The leaping effect in the original series always made me think of that warm electric thrill that runs through your body after something particularly heartwarming or endearing. This looked like he was regenerating... Into a demon...
The same can be said for some of the other effects and nods, or lack of same, to the original.  I’m ambivalent if we should have heard the sound effect each time Ben looked at his reflection and we saw the person he leaped into.  Would that be outdated now? I don’t know.  Maybe.  But I was still hoping to hear it at least the first time, as an homage to the original.
Then we have Addison as the hologram.  I kind of liked seeing the dissolution of the hologram from Addison’s perspective, but beyond that, I do miss her going through the door like Al.  When they showed the imaging chamber, it seemed like another one of those dumb effects gimmicks; because why would this long distance holodeck be just a 3’ wide pedestal a the end of a catwalk, with no railing; which appears to drop off into the bowels of the Death Star?  When the holographic projection is engaged, she can't see the floor or where that drop off is.  How does she avoid plummeting to her death?  Seriously, did they just borrow the Cerebro set from the X-Men movies…?
The hologram effect is ho-hum.  The matting effect of Dean Stockwell in the original wasn’t always perfect.  There was often a telltale look when they were about to him go through something or vice versa, where the color balance was off, but they always tried to make it fairly seamless and not “glitchy” like this one.
One kind of minor gripe with Addison as a hologram was how it appeared Addison was sitting in the car during the getaway sequence, when obviously she can’t.  The conceit was always that Ziggy could keep Al locked on Sam’s position and he was essentially floating/standing and keeping pace and relative position to Sam and any vehicle he was in.  But it also stood out to me, over the various re-watches of the original series, that they always had Al positioned in a certain way so it wouldn’t look like he was seated, presumably as some sort of visual cue that he wasn't interacting with the physical world in a conventional way.  I could be wrong, but Addison looked like she was sitting in the passenger seat.
And then Ben leaps… into an astronaut, at a shuttle launch… Oh, boy.

Hey darling, for prompt weekend can I have B1, C4, and F14 with either Roger or Ben? You’re the best and the greatest!
her you go darling! I went with Ben since most of the requests have been for Rog and I wanted somethign a lil different lmao Hope you like it!
Extensive talking during foreplay and sex + In costume + In a bath tub
The party had been fun, right up until your friend and her boyfriend snuck off together, leaving you in a room full of strangers. The host was one of her friends that you’d met in passing once or twice but couldn’t pick out of the mass of costumed people, and that was the strongest connection you had to anyone there. You were contemplating leaving, texting your friend so she knew where you’d disappeared to and just calling an Uber or something. You even had your phone out, composing the text, when you felt a tap on your shoulder.
“Cher right?”
“Sorry?” you turned, hoping the man in denim overalls and a short sleeved red shirt that you’d come face to face with, could hear you over the noise.
“You’re dressed as Cher from… fuck I had the name a second ago…Clueless,”
“Correct on both counts. Good spot Mario”
He laughed and shrugged, “It’s an easy costume to throw together. But my friend is dressed as Luigi so I’m not the only unimaginative one,”
“My friend is dressed as Dion but she ditched me to make out with her boyfriend,”
“Group costume then?”
“Yeah. One we’ve used a couple of times now, but shhh,” you held your finger over your lips.
“Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me. Can I get you another drink?”
“That’d be lovely, thanks,”
“I’m Ben by the way, probably should have said that earlier,”
“Y/N,”
“Pretty name. Give me a minute and I’ll be back with another,” he indicated your mostly empty cup and then turned and disappeared into the crowd congregating near the alcohol.
You slipped your phone back into your purse. Maybe the party could still be fun.
When Ben returned he handed you a fresh drink and you found yourselves heading outside where it was a little easier to talk.
“So, your friends ditch you to make out too or?”
“Not quite. I ditched them to talk to you,”
“Well I’m flattered,”
“I take it you don’t know anyone else here,”
“Nah, you?”
“Not really. But at least we can be the weird outsiders together,”
You laughed and held up your cup, “cheers to that,”
For a while you stayed out in the cool night, finding a spot on the lawn to sit and chat. Ben was nice, sweet. He asked about your job and your friends and your pets, made dumb jokes you found hard not to laugh at, told you about himself. And he flirted. Openly and shamelessly. It was cute though. He shuffled closer so you were practically sitting on top of each other, his hand slipping behind you, palm to the ground for him to lean his weight on as he reached over to brush a strand of your hair back. The conversation was full of suggestion and innuendos, said with a boyish smile and an easy laugh, once or twice a bitten lip. It was hard to resist. Especially when you hadn’t expected anything like it to happen. But being chatted up by a cute boy was definitely an improvement on the night before he’d introduced himself. And really, getting a little action would be very welcome. So you flirted back, a hand on his arm or his chest as you laughed at his jokes. Licking your lips to draw his gaze. So, when he leaned in to kiss you, you let him and you kissed him back and you wrapped your arms around his neck to keep him there.
It was clear where things were headed so you suggested finding somewhere a little more private. Unfortunately there were people spread throughout the entire bottom floor.
“Upstairs?” Ben asked, pulling you by the hand back towards the hallway.
“Isn’t it roped off so people don’t go up there?”
“No one’ll notice if we’re careful,”
You giggled and agreed, Ben climb over first and then gave you a hand stepping over too. That was when you saw it.
“You have a tattoo!”
“Shhhh,” Ben laughed, trying to tiptoe up the stairs, “Yeah I do,”
“Can I see it?”
“Let’s find a room first. What about,” he pushed open the first door and found a bathroom, “Will this do?”
“Absolutely.” You shut and lock the door behind you.
Ben’s first thought was to lift you onto the sink but he stopped with his hands on your hips, and frowned. The bench wasn’t really wide enough to be comfortable and what space there was, was taken up by discarded makeup and hair products. But what was lacking about the sink was made up for by the size of the bath. You indicated it instead and Ben shrugged and held out his hand to help you in.
“Uh uh, you gotta get your kit off first. How am I meant to ride you though fucking overalls?”
“Alright, alright,” he laughed, unhooking the first strap and throwing it over his shoulder with a pout worthy of a model. You took your blazer off and then your knickers but left the skirt on as Ben discarded the overalls.
“So you wanted to see,” he pushed the sleeve of his shirt up so you could see the ink marking his shoulder, “You like it?”
“I do. Simple but really cool.”
“You don’t have any?” this time he stepped into the tub first before offering his hand and getting comfortable himself, legs stretched out in front of him, leaning against one end, “oh, cold on my arse,”
“That’s what you get for wearing a one piece. And, no, I don’t.”
“Technically two pieces with the shirt. God I hope this bath is clean,”
You distracted him by kissing him again as you settled on his lap, your knees wedged between his legs and the sides of the bath. But Ben was at least somewhat of a gentleman because you feel his hand on your arse and then on your thigh and then between your legs. You sighed into the kiss as he found your wetness, spreading it over your pussy lips and up to your clit.
“I – mmmh – I wouldn’t mind getting a tattoo actually,”
“Tattoos are hot, especially on attractive women,”
You hum, half because you agreed and half because you felt him press two fingers into you. It wasn’t not long before you wanted more, wanted what you’d been promised, so you dropped your hand between you to stroke his dick. He gasped softly at the contact.
“So how come you haven’t got any tats?” his voice was slightly strained as you worked your hand over his shaft.
“I don’t know, I guess- you’ve got condoms yeah?”
“Back pocket,” he pointed at his discarded costume and you released him to grab the overalls.
“I guess I just haven’t properly looked into it yet.” You ripped the condom open with your teeth and began sliding it onto him, “S’pose I don’t really know how to go about it,”
“Yeah, the first one’s a bit dau-nting,” his voice hitched as you lowered yourself onto his dick, “But it’s pretty simple really.”
“Does it hurt?”
“No, you feel amazing,”
“Meant tats, do they h-hurt as much as people say?
Ben chuckled, his hands finding a place on your hips and squeezing as you began to raise and lower yourself, “I mean it’s needling ink into your skin, it’s not painless. Guess it, uh fuck, guess it depends on pain tolerance and stuff. Any idea what design you’d want?”
“Not really. Maybe something like a sunflower,”
“Cute,”
“Thanks,” you braced your hands on Ben’s chest so you could take him a little faster, “My friends got one of a fox, looks like watercolour,”
“Yeah I’ve se-een them online. Really cool,”
“Maybe something like that, but a bird. You want any, ohh, anymore tats or just the one?”
“I’d l-ove more. Not sure of what yet.”
“My name?”
He laughed again though it turned into more of a moan as you clenched, “You could get mine too,”
“Make me cum and I’ll think about it.”
Ben took the hint and brought his fingers to your clit again, rubbing it firmly as you tried to keep the pace of your bouncing despite the way your knees were beginning to hurt.
“Just like that Ben, don’t stop,”
Ben nodded and kept up his ministrations until you stilled, mouth falling open and fingers tightening on his chest. He followed quickly, head falling back against the side of the tub.
“Fuck,” he laughed, pulling you into a kiss “You look ridiculously sexy right now.”
“You think this is sexy you should see what I sleep in,”
“If that’s an invitation then I accept.”
“Put your pants back on and we can call and Uber,”
“So,” Ben said as he was pulling his overalls back on, “where are you going to get it?”
“Get what?”
“My name when you get it tattooed on you? I was thinking it’d look good on your arse but up to you,”
“Think I’ll still to the sunflowers,”

BEN:  I  knew  you’d  be  part  of  the  solution
I’m  going  to  get  meta  for  a  bit  over  this  two  second  moment  because  I  still  find  Harry’s  reaction  to  this  line,  and  to  Uma’s  smile  quite  telling.  Harry  and  Uma  have  been  apart  from  each  other  for  two  years  and  have  only  been  reunited  for  a  few  hours  but  there  is  still  a  very  obvious  shift  in  the  way  that  they  respond  and  function  as  a  pair  in  comparison  to  how  they  were  in  D2.  In  D2  Harry  and  Uma  were  very  much  on  the  same  page,  their  anger,  resentment,  and  pride  complimented  each  other  and  they  acted  as  a  singular  unit,  in  D3  however  Harry  still  has  that  anger,  and  resentment,  while  Uma  is  a  lot  calmer  and  more  cooperative  with  the  C4  (even  if  it  is  with  an  attitude)  but  this  moment  I  think  is  when  that  difference  hits  Harry  hardest.
My  interpretation  is  that  Harry  gets  jealous  of  this  moment  between  Ben  and  Uma,  it’s  a  very  soft,  intimate,  and  almost  vulnerable  moment  between  his  Captain  and  a  man  that,  in  Harry’s  own  perspective,  is  still  the  enemy.  Furthermore,  Harry  doesn’t  understand  why  Uma  has  that  reaction  to  Ben’s  words,  because  he  still  doesn’t  trust  Ben  (or  the  C4),  and  he  doesn’t  know  why  Uma  would  believe  anything  Ben  has  to  say  in  the  first  place.  This  is  the  moment  that  Harry  realizes  that  he  and  Uma  are  not  on  the  same  page,  they’re  not  acting  as  a  single  mind  in  two  bodies,  something  has  changed,  they’re  no  longer  in  sync,  and  he  doesn’t  like  it.

DESCENDANTS  ALTERNATE  VERSE  SPECIFIC  HEADCANON :
*or  an  au  where  harry  was  chosen  to  attend  auradon  prep  too.
Alongside four others from the Isle, Harry Hook is handpicked by the future High King of Auradon to attend the prestigious private school of Auradon Prep. Initially, Harry refuses, unwilling to leave his Captain and his crew behind even for his own freedom. He resists all efforts to convince him to accept the summons until his Captain, daughter of Ursula, Uma, confronts him with the task of discovering a means to destroy the barrier and see them all freed. Despite his hesitance and reluctance, Harry agrees and finds himself entering hostile territory alongside a group of people that have been his lifelong enemies.
Harry finds it extremely difficult to fit into what Auradon Prep expect from him, a task made even more trying when the staff discover his illiteracy and assign him private tutors. To appear cooperative, Harry joins the Tourney team alongside Jay and Carlos, the Isle Born boys proving to be a force to be reckoned with once they put their differences aside and while Harry and Jay certainly waste no time in butting heads, with some encouragement, the two can work together like a well-oiled machine. Harry works hard at gaining favour with Jay and Carlos, a difficult task considering their shared history of conflict, but Harry is determined to lie, cheat, and manipulate his way into their good graces in order to discover their plot to free their parents.
While Harry has little to no interest in freeing his father, he is eager to see his crew and sisters freed and on the night of the C4’s investigation into the Auradon museum, Harry follows. Despite managing to convince some of the Isle Borns that he is willing to aid them in their efforts to bring the barrier down, some are not convinced and Harry resorts to blackmail, revealing the recorded footage of the C4 breaking and entering the Museum. Reluctantly, the C4 are forced to allow Harry to participate in their plot and scheming.
Despite all the comforts and luxuries that Auradon offers to him, Harry’s thoughts always return to his Captain and his crew, still bound to the Isle of the Lost. As the C4 begin to appear seduced by all the things that Auradon has given to them, Harry becomes convinced that he is the only hope his family on the Isle has to true freedom and begins to plot his own plan to see them freed alongside him. Harry searches for the device that had allowed the driver to pass through the barrier and across the magical bridge, stalking the royal servicemen until he found where the remote was kept. On the day of Ben’s Coronation, Harry used the parade and festivities as a means of distraction while he stole the device from the lockbox, and masked suspicion by attending Ben’s Coronation with Jay, Carlos and Evie.
As Jane snatched her mother’s magic wand, for a moment Harry believed for a moment that he could rely upon Maleficent to shatter the barrier once and for all but watched as she was thwarted by her own daughter, Mal. Harry struggled to conceal his anger and betrayal at the C4, how they were willing to condemn all those that he cared about back on the island for their own sake of escape and abandoned the church and all its celebrating people before he could do or say something that he might regret. As the celebration of the crowning of Ben and the defeat of Maleficent began, Harry stole a car and used the device to return to the Isle where he found himself pulled within the escalating riots.
Harry fought his way back to the docks, back to Ursula’s Chipp Shopp where he reunited with his Captain and his crew. Unable to reveal the device he had to aid in their escape while the riots spread like wildfire through the streets, Harry joined his crew in defending and expanding their territory over the course of two days. Only once the violence had died and the fires been doused was he able to place the device that would open a doorway within the barrier to Uma.

Nostalgic Christchurch
I had a training session in Christchurch last week for work and I convinced my flatmate, Alecia, to come along and make a trip of it. After nearly missing our flight, we arrived in ChCh on Wednesday night. Evan and Al (Alvan) met us for a sushi dinner and we closed down the restaurant while catching up and planning our weekend.
On Thursday I went into the office for the training session as Alecia bounced around various coffee shops and cafés doing her work. Alvan invited us to theirs for dinner where we were greeted by the scent of hearty spiced dal and homemade Roti. It was a restaurant quality meal, but fresher. I was jealous that Evan gets to come home to meals like this all the time!
Tumblr media
After dinner, we rushed to the climbing gym. I was excited and intrigued by the wide variety of holds available for all levels. Each of us was working on our own problem for a while, attempting different methods until one by one, we conquered our challenges. It was a significantly fulfilling climbing session for me.
We dropped Alvan back off at their house and went to Countdown for some goodies. When we got back, we interrupted their flat meeting. At least we came equipped with wine. We drank that wine late into the night as we told stories, laughed, and had heart-to-hearts while sitting in the van in their driveway.
On Friday, Alecia and I took off from work to explore. We met up with my friend Jess from work and her family at C4 Coffee for some brekkie before making our way towards the Banks Peninsula. En route, we stopped at Birdlings Flat which is a grey pebble beach with rough, pastel turquoise waves.
The destination was Ngaio Point Track, an hour long coastal walk through bush reserves and two small beaches. One of the beaches was completely covered in red seaweed and smelled distinctly like oysters. We enjoyed expansive views of the Akaroa Harbour before saying goodbye to Jess and her family.
Tumblr media
Alecia and I went on to explore the town of Akaroa. We walked along the waterfront, stopped at the lighthouse, and had a small lunch at a cute little French café called “Sweet AS”. So Kiwi! Then, we went to the Giant’s House which is a mosaic sculpture garden. Unfortunately, the last entry is at 3:45 PM - even on Fridays!! We were ten minutes too late, but we both vowed to come back to Akaroa to see it again.
Tumblr media
We might’ve missed out on the art, but we certainly did not miss out on all of the culture. We made it to Barry’s Bay Cheese factory to try and buy a few cheeses and French Peak Wines for a tasting and vineyard view. There, we learned about the history of the French settlers in Akaroa. The French influence is still evident. Alecia and I went back to Christchurch where we relaxed before having a solid meal at Thai Chef.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Saturday morning, we met up with Alvan in Lyttelton to explore the farmers market and grab brunch at the Shroom Room café. Lyttelton is a quaint port town surrounded by house-lined hills. After we ate, we went to Ben’s house for a few drinks before heading to Ferrymead Historic Park for Nostalgia Festival. It was a happy coincidence that we happened to be in Christchurch the same weekend as this music festival headlined by Kiwi artists. We were even able to buy tickets just a few nights in advance!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The concert grounds were lined with local clothing vendors and a wide variety of food and drink booths. We had a great time dancing to the different artists. LEISURE was the highlight for most of us. The irony of being able to experience this while most of the world is in some level of lockdown was not lost on me.
Tumblr media
After the show, we went back to Alvan’s friends’ house where Sophia taught us how to play the game Casserole. It involves each person writing down three things on three separate pieces of papers: a person, an action, and an object. There are three rounds: taboo, charades, and single word. You break into groups and the goal is to guess as many words as possible within 30 seconds. Each round ends when all the papers in the bowl have been guessed. We had a blast acting and guessing and racking our brains.
On Sunday morning, Alecia and I went for a walk in Hagley Park, grabbed brunch at Unknown Chapter, and headed back to the park for some free music. Next, we walked to the modern art museum and saw a lot of interesting installations that made us think. We passed by the earthquake memorial on our way to the car and got to the airport just before our plane boarded.

The next to last MOVE
Tumblr media
[The release of Delbert Africa after 42 years in prison has lit me up like fireworks. Most of what's below was written several years ago, so this is a minor update. But goddamn am I glad he's out. It doesn't put the end to anything – one other MOVE member is still languishing – but it lends the closing bracket on a time and place that's long, long been central to my life. I never talked to Delbert, but I was never less than monumentally impressed by him, even though I thought MOVE was basically off its nut. See what you think.]
In the summer of 1978, my wife Linda and I had fun towing her little red wagon full of rocks through the police line during the first confrontation between the city of Philadelphia and MOVE.
Never heard of MOVE, or only recently with an odd revival of interest? I'm not surprised. Only in Philadelphia could the record of summer-long martial law effectively... vanish for decades.
Back then, MOVE was often called a "back to nature" and/or "anti-technology" outfit: A back-to-nature-anti-technology outfit that used bullhorns, lived in the middle of a city of 1.5 million inhabitants and organized protests of Jane Fonda and Buckminster Fuller. Demonstrating against the then-82-year-old champion of the geodesic dome – who would do such a thing, why?
Only MOVE, only in our itty-bitty liberal enclave of Powelton Village, and I think no one will ever know exactly why. They followed the teachings of Vincent Leaphart, whose rambling treatise made little sense to anyone beyond his small band of raucous believers. "MOVE" wasn't an acronym, just a word, but always capitalized. Leaphart changed his name to John Africa and insisted his followers all take the last name of Africa.
Powelton, a ten-square-block Victorian snippet of West Philadelphia north of Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania, began as the city nabobs' summer-retreat in the late 19th century, just across the Schuylkill River from Center City. By the late 1960s it had attracted a loose rattle of quiet leftists and inoffensive layabouts who were tolerant of most anybody but Drexel, which was determined to devour as much of the community as it could ladle down (and has now debased the area with overpriced apartments for its students.)
During the late '70s, Powelton's squishy acceptance allowed MOVE to occupy a pair of brick twins at 33rd and Pearl Sts., no more than a block from our commune, where they nailed together huge, ramshackle ramparts, kept a pack of half-feral dogs, ate raw meat and tossed their garbage in the yard. An all-black group (except for one scrawny white woman), they were dreadlocked and more physically fit than any health poster.
For income, they washed cars on 33rd St. (and did a damned fine job of it). On no particular provocation, they would mount the ramparts, pick up a bullhorn and harangue the world. It made a hell of a racket. They could also explode into sudden violence, especially against the police, though I regularly walked past their house and was never harassed.
The city, citing housing and sanitation regulations, declared them pests and obtained a court order telling them they had to go. The order set off one of the strangest confrontations in modern American history.
On a quiet summer evening, the MOVErs mounted the ramparts carrying rifles and dressed in camo fatigues. You'd think the police would act. Well, they did: They blocked traffic on 33rd St. That was it. They never approached the MOVE house. During the protest, Delbert Africa, their chief spokesman (one of the most beautiful human beings who ever existed) issued this statement, part haiku, part tautology, that has always defined MOVE for me:
"Any motherfucker
tries to take away my motherfuckin' rights,
that man is a motherfucker."
I doubt their guns were loaded (they have since claimed they were not). For one thing, they were pointed straight up, for show. For another, the fatigues still had folds in them – the protestors had bought them that afternoon, probably at I. Goldberg's, a decades-old army-navy surplus store.
The city's mayor was Frank Rizzo, former police commissioner from South Philly, idolized by the Italian community, hated by the gays and blacks he had hounded throughout a career of sneering, swaggering machismo (my favorite quote: "I'll make Attila the Hun look like a faggot").
Rizzo's response to MOVE was incomprehensible and ultimately ruinous for the city.  Rather than clear the house of this rabble on outstanding charges of health and safety violations, he directed the police department to place a cordon around our neighborhood and wait for MOVE to capitulate. (If China had suggested starving out a bunch of dissidents, the U.S. would have been mightily upset.) Worse, he announced his plans a couple weeks in advance, giving MOVE's supporters ample time to haul in truckloads of supplies, including a skid of dog food.
For the next roughly six weeks, Powelton was occupied by up to 2,000 police and support personnel. I still find it hard to grasp that a judge blithely approved a state of martial law to enforce health regulations. And that his ruling was never seriously challenged or overturned.
To those familiar with MOVE, the result was foreordained—they simply hunkered down and refused to... move. Us Poweltonians, meanwhile, had to show identification to enter our own streets. The local activists, in their vocal but placid way, formed so many committees to discuss the situation – roughly equal pro- and anti-MOVE – that a higher committee coalesced to coordinate them all.
About then, Linda was moving back to the commune where I'd met her and where I still lived. We had no "transportation" beyond a battered wire shopping cart and her little red wagon. Back and forth we clumped from her apartment, the wagon loaded with books, kitchen equipment and the big garden rocks she'd brought from her home in Kansas. After awhile, even the cops found it ridiculous to keep asking for our IDs. They'd grin lightly, look bemused, then stand aside.
The immense police presence was absurdly ineffective. They exempted the street behind us from the cordon, and since our block had no internal fences, I would walk Pearl, our exuberant St. Bernard, down our front steps and half way around the block, then in the back way, without a single police challenge. The neighborhood also experienced a marked increase in breaking and entering – I guess it heightened the crooks' street cred to thumb their noses at the Man.
Across the city, the police force was in a shambles from diverting 20% of its resources to a pointless, static operation. (Once the blockade was lifted, they found that MOVE had moled a tunnel through to Powelton Ave., sneaking in supplies during the entire occupation.)
As I hazily recall it, the city and MOVE reached an agreement that if the police lifted their blockade, MOVE would hand over their guns. The police lifted the blockade, and –surprise! – MOVE handed them a bellylaugh.
Then one morning Linda and I were awakened by a short, intense rattle of gunfire. It hit like a mallet: "My god, they're killing them all." As it turned out, one police officer, James Ramp, was killed but no MOVE members. Despite conflicting forensic evidence on where the shot had come from, nine MOVErs were convicted of third-degree murder and for decades were regularly denied parole.
When I returned from work that afternoon, the street in front of our house was scored with caterpillar treads. I followed them around the corner to 33rd St. The MOVE houses were gone – three-story brick Victorian twins evaporated, the ground a smooth expanse of Philadelphia's yellow-brown clay. As Linda's young son Ben said, "At least they didn't salt the earth."
The occupation and confrontation were big news in city media back then, but they never caught national attention. Why? Can you name another example of weeks-long, uncontested martial law in a major American city?
That wrapped up MOVE for Powelton, but not for the city. Seven years later, on May 12-13, 1985, under Mayor W. Wilson Goode, the local government again lost its ability to think like adults in response to MOVE. The remaining group had moved to Osage Ave. on the city's western edge and again erected ramparts, but the local population was less willing than the loosey-goosey Poweltonians to accept such disruption.
This time, the city cut corners and turned to direct confrontation. The result was an armed standoff that ended when a collective of official imbeciles OKd dropping a parcel of C4 explosive onto MOVE's roof bunker. As the resulting fire spread, rather than endanger the firemen standing ready (or so read the official rationale), it was left to go its merry way.
The entire square block of over 60 rowhouses burned flat. When the smoke had cleared and the flames died out, 11 members of MOVE were found incinerated, including John Africa and five children. There were only two known survivors, Ramona Africa and nine-year-old Birdie Africa, who was permanently disfigured.
A footnote: Ramona, along with Birdie's relatives, were paid millions in damages. Ramona bought a house in the city's Kingsessing neighborhood, where she and MOVE remnants live a relatively quiet life. After hemming and hawing, the city agreed to rebuild the houses destroyed through its asinine incompetence. As a monument to shoddy, graft-infested contracting, the replacement homes proved uninhabitable, the contractors faced criminal charges, and the bedraggled homeowners were once again evicted while their "new" homes were razed and replaced.

Held Back - Harry Hook x Ben’s sibling! Reader - Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note; before we start, “reader” is non-binary but since I've always imagined Auradon is pretty… old-fashioned and close-minded, they really don’t realize they are NB but know they don’t like being referred to as a “girl” or a “female”. Also, I know “realistically” Adam and Belle wouldn’t neglect their 2nd kid for the first n shit but it’s called a plot point and they are like that for a reason.
Tried to not use “readers” pronouns at all until we get to the good shit where they are like “oh, that’s what that is?”
Also, this will be a 2-part story, the 1st takes place in D2, while the 2nd will take place after D2 and into D3 :3
OH, slight smut in this fic….yeah…it doesn’t get detailed-detailed, but it gets…heated…yeah…if you don’t like even reading this that hint at sex then I’ll put warnings at the beginning and end of those scenes :3 otherwise this is a pretty “safe” fic
Enjoy~
=
Being the daughter, and the 2nd child, to Beast and Belle, wasn’t…what everyone assumed it was. Everyone expected that since you were their 2nd kid, one that wasn't in line for the throne, that you could do anything, get away with anything. That you could just shrug and say ‘oops’ and all would be forgiven. But it wasn’t. It was constant rules and upkeep, never able to run free and scrape your knee when you fell off the tree you had climbed, never able to just scream as you ran along the shoreline, soaking the seawater into your clothes.
Always sit up straight, never cross your legs, never run, never frown, never sneer, don’t talk back, don’t yell, just sit there and -
Be perfect
For the early years of your life, you had loved Ben. Ben your 5-minute older twin brother, Ben who always cared about you, Ben who hid the vase you had broken when you were chasing him through the castle halls when told not to.
Ben; who had refused to let you be pushed aside.
But resentment grew when your parents would always favor him, always praise him; for the bare minimum.
If he got a B in his project? Amazing! Take him out for ice cream.
You? Getting a B+? scolding’s and being told to do better next time, with your dessert taken away for the week.
While you held this resentment for him, you couldn’t hate him, not really, not when he would sneak you his leftover ice cream that was your favorite flavor, one that he hated but your parents didn’t know, not when he would run into your room on stormy nights to make sure you were okay.
Not when he obviously loved you so much.
But you wanted more, you needed more…just something to fill the gap that your parents were leaving. A gap that for some reason they couldn’t see was growing bigger every time they turned their backs on you and turned to Ben.
You were a loner too…most of your “friends” were actually Bens friends, Audrey being one of the few that usually hung out with you outside of Ben and Chad, she was petty as hell sometimes and pretty passive-aggressive to those she didn’t like but she had never seen you as “Bens sister” or “the second child of King beast and Queen Belle”
She just saw you as (y/n), her friend.
When the VKs came, it was almost a relief, finally, the attention was off of you. With Bens coronation and even your parents paying more attention to the new kids instead of picking apart what was wrong with your English essay.
You had tried talking to them, but all four of them were pretty off Standish, and in their own group almost all the time, but after they had chosen good, you and Evie had started talking and had grown a small friendship, one that was nothing compared to what she had with Ben and Mal but you didn't feel as lonely anymore.
Mal had…. acknowledged your existence…yeah, the two of you didn’t really interact much. And you were fine with that.
Especially after Ben told you she tried to memory spell him (you had almost stormed into her dorm guns blazing). Then soon after that, Ben and the other vks were going back to the isle, and you were utterly bored and needed to do something other than sit in your room and disappoint your parents by doing nothing so why don’t go to the isle and disappoint your parents for a good reason!
So now, you stood at the stairway below the core four’s hideout, happy you had taken your denim jacket with you as the isle chill set in.
“so?” Evie asked Ben as he solemnly climbed back down the stairs, his eyes at the ground “where’s Mal?” Ben shook his head, pushing past Evie and Jay and walking down the ally.
“she's not coming back” he muttered before disappearing. You kept your eyes on him in worry, ignoring the other three’s worry over Mal who was safe and sound in her little hideout while your brother, who knew how to hold a sword but sucked at hand to hand, disappeared into the alleys of the isle.
You moved to go after him but stopped as a much taller, leaner shadow took Bens place in a blink and walked toward you. “hey!” you yelled, the vks stopping in their Mal rant and turning to you “Ben’s gone”
Evie's face melted from worry for Mal to worry for Ben as she stepped next to you and called for Ben as the tall shadow got closer “Ben…Ben!”
It seemed they thought the new shadow was Ben as Evie sighed in relief and looked away, setting her hand on your shoulder “Ben don’t scare us like that!”
“Don’ scare yeh~?” the tall shadow stepped into the light, the teens bright blue eyes sending shocks down your spine as you looked into them “That’s my specialty ~” he purred, his eyes flashing between you and Jay. Evie breathed out his name in annoyance.
Harry…what a nice name...
“what did you do with Ben!” Jay stepped in front of you, not liking the way Harry was eyeing you up. Harry seemed to no understand what Jay was asking before he gasped, turning slightly to point down the ally.
“oh~! We nicked ‘im~!” he nodded as if he was explaining something to a toddler “and if yeh want ta’ see ‘im again~ have Mal come to the chip shop tonight~” his eyes darkened as he gestured to the group with his hook “Alone…Uma wants” his tone lightened again, his eyes looking back at you with curiosity “a little visit~”
He looked at jay again and pursed his lips, looking up and down “aw Jay~” he tilted his head and gave a teasing grin “seems like ye’ lost yer touch~” Jay growled and tried to tackle Harry, but was stopped by Evie. Harry held his hands up and giggled, turning to you and bowing slightly “your highness~” he purred, winking at you and blowing a kiss as he walked away.
The vks mostly ignored his last few actions and Jay hopped up the side of the stairs to get to Mal, while you watched Harry disappear into the ally, your heart going miles a minute.
“wow” you muttered, shaking your head to get rid of the fluffy feeling in your head “get a grip (y/n), he just kidnapped your brother!”
You quickly followed Evie and Carlos as the gate door of the stairway lifted and ascended to the hideout.
-
Leaving you on your own in the hideout was probably the worst choice the vks had made that entire night, as you had nothing to entertain yourself with so you just left and traveled around.
You had somehow walked from the hideout to the docks, and if you remembered correctly, this was the pirate's territory. So, you spun back around to get your ass back to the hideout but stopped as two sets of lust-filled eyes stared back.
But unlike Ben, you smirked as you crouched into a fighting stance, you had taken almost every self-defense class you could. For more than one reason but mainly because even in Auradon there were still nasty people.
The bigger one of the two men rushed at you, but ultimately flopped to the floor as you pivoted on your right foot and swung your left leg around, hitting him directly in the temple and knocking him out.
You grinned at the other man and waved your fingers at him “come get me~” you jeered, laughing to yourself as he yelled and rushed at you.
But before he could take a step closer, a silver hook whacked over his head and knocked the second man out. You pouted and glared at the new person, not caring if it was the teen that had kidnapped your brother an hour ago “hey!”
“hey~!” he mocked back, a teasing smile on his face. He stepped over the two men and curled his hook under your chin, his eyes drifting over your face “now what's a little princess-” you twitched at the nickname “-like yeh traveling alone on the isle~ it's dangerous yeh know?”
You forced down the heat that wanted to cover your face and shrugged, mentally smirking as Harry rose his brow “well…they left me alone in the hideout and I got bored…can't blame me for wanting some excitement eh?”
He squinted at you for a minute, as if he was trying to figure you out…then he finally spoke “yer different than’ I thought yeh would be” he muttered softly, the cool metal of his hook drifting away from your chin and back at his side.
You crossed your arms and cocked your hip, giving the pirate a smirk “what did you think I was going to be like?”
“prissy, stuck up, wouldn’t touch the isle even with a hundred’ foot pole” he shrugged, licking his lips as you rolled your eyes and brew a lock of hair out of your face.
“well as you’ve just experienced, that’s not true” Harry laughed through his nose, looking up towards the barrier and running his free hand through his hair.
“aye…” his shockingly blue eyes drifted back down to meet yours. “so why even come ta the isle? Fer beasty boy? Malsy?”
You looked down at your shoes…you really had no reason to come along did you? Ben and the others could have easily handled getting back Mal without you…so why?
“because if my parents are going to disappointed in me it might as well be for a real reason” you muttered, letting your arms drop to your side.
You felt Harry's eyes on you as you stared hard at the ground, willing yourself not to cry. “that sucks” you looked at Harry through your lashes, seeing him staring at you with sad eyes “I thought…I thought all Bora-don parents loved their kids” he laughed uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his head.
“well…they are still human…and just because they are hailed as good people, don’t mean they are good parents” you sighed, crossing your arms again and looking away from Harry's eyes.
“wait…Bora-don?” you laughed, turning back to Harry with a grin. He seemed to be relieved of the subject change and a sharp grin grew on his face.
“aye, it's boring, so, Bora-don~” he giggled, rocking on his heels a bit. A few moments passed then he held his hand out to you.
You stared at it, then him for a few moments. “come on, let's give yer dumbass parents a real reason ta be disappointed in yeh” you smiled and took his hand, laughing quietly to yourself as Harry tugged you away from the docks and toward wherever he was taking you.
-
Your legs were in Harry's lap as the two of you cackled into the dead of night, hands stained with paint and rotten food. Harry had taken you for a night of chaos, destroying vendors with paint, pranking the twin sons of Gaston’s with balloons filled with rotting eggs, and just wreaking havoc in the streets of the isle.
Harry's arm went behind your back as you fell to the side slightly, his bicep pushing against your arm. “thank you Harry” you hummed as you finally calmed down, giving him a closed-lipped smile. “this…this really meant a lot to me” he stared at your lips for a moment before a soft, unsure, smile grew on his lips.
“it was no biggie princess,” your lip twitched at the title “I was kinda already planning ta do all those things anyway…thought it was pretty fun ta do it with someone instead of by myself” you laughed a bit, leaning back on your hands and closing your eyes.
“I get that”  it was silent for a few moments, just you and Harry on top of the abandoned building.
“yeh reacted when I called yeh princess” you twitched again “yeh did it again…is something up with the word?”
You sighed, then opened your eyes, staring into Harry for a moment then looking away “I…I don’t like being referred to like that…it’s not the title its…what it refers to… it's hard to explain”
Harry tilted his head, his hand going on your knee to gently push you to continue “is it the royalty thing?”
“no” you dismissed quickly “its…the princess thing…its…well…ugh” you took your legs off Harry's lap and switched to sitting on your knees, looking at Harry with serious eyes “I've never told anybody this and you have to swear you won't tell anybody else after I tell you” Harry blinked wildly for a moment then looked at you confused.
“lass” you twitched again, making Harry pause for a moment “darling, unless it’s something that will help bring down the barrier or take over the world, I won't tell a soul” you snickered for a moment before you took a deep breath, preparing to tell a person you had just meet that day, one that had kidnapped your brother no less, your greatest secret.
It didn’t help that you felt more comfortable with him in five minutes than you had with your parents for the last 16 years. “I…don’t like it when I'm referred to with girl-like titles or…pronouns” you winced, hands going to block anything that might come your way.
“oh, yeh don’t like she-her pronouns where they are used in a way to refer ta yeh?” Harry clarified, you looked at him slightly odd, expecting some sort of relation or comment, but…it was as if you had just told him you didn’t like a vegetable instead of you not being comfortable with your gender pronouns?
“uh…yeah basically?” you rubbed the back of your head, the other hand picking at the loose threads on your pants.
“yeah, it's not that uncommon ‘ere, I think Desiree is non-binary and one of the other crew members is gender-fluid…not that it's not a big deal but…why have yeh never told anybody else about that? Not even yer brother?” your wide-eyes looked away, hands clenching into your shirt “Darling?”
“um…Auradon isn’t really…accepting of most things…I didn’t even know that…non-binary and gender-fluid were a thing…what do they mean?” you looked back at Harry who seemed to be very surprised “what?”
“nothin’ I'm just surprised tha’ the place of happily ever after’s is kinda…shit?” he laughed, rubbing the back of his head “okay lemme remember what Desiree told me um…Okay non-binary is when you don’t…identify as the gender yeh were at birth so say…okay take Desiree as an example, they’ve been told they’ve been a girl since they were born but they’ve always felt like that didn’t fit, but being a boy didn’t feel right either. so that’s what non-binary is. It's that yeh are neither male nor female yeh are…well you, and most of the time, as far as I know, they use they-them pronouns instead of she or he. but I think some of them use she and they, or he and they…just depends on who uses the pronouns n stuff.”
That…that sounded right…you had never liked female pronouns on you, and ages ago, when you tested male pronouns to yourself, that never felt right either…could you be non-binary? “um, what about gender-fluid?” Harry took a deep breath and looked up.
“Okay, I’m not as knowledgeable on that since the one who actually told me about it didn’t tell me everything…anyway, its under the same...umbrella i think its called as non-binary but genderfluid is when you are both genders, not at the same time…I think, but one day yeh can be female, the other a male, sometimes neither, but that’s what gender-fluid is. They don’t have a fixed gender”
While that sounded interesting…it didn’t feel right to you, you never felt like a girl, and you never felt like a boy… “I think I’m non-binary” you breathed, feeling like a weight was lifting off your entire body. You grinned as Harry smiled.
“awesome, welcome to the club darling” you let yourself fall forward into Harry’s chest, who stiffened slightly and slowly wrapped his arms around you.
“thank you” you muttered quietly, rubbing your cheek into his collarbone. His entire body was still as you cuddled into him, before he relaxed and laid his cheek on your head.
“yer welcome darling” he whispered back, one of his hands going up to cup the back of your head, thumb gently rubbing back and forth.
You jumped as a sudden loud noise crashed below you, and you further ducked into Harry, yelping slightly as he tipped back and the two of you ended up in an odd pile on the rooftop.
Harry tightened his arms around you, his entire body tense again as he listened for any threats. He let out a soft sigh as the high-pitched yowl of a cat rang from where the loud noise came and the animal scuttled off. “yer fine” he whispered, letting his head hit the roof as you sat up and looked around “jus’ a cat”
-smut starts here so if you don’t want to read anything that either includes it or hints at it just scroll till you get to another warning, but this does has some plot points in it soo scroll at ur own risk-
You nodded slightly, twisting around to look at the bleak buildings of the isle. you felt something beneath your legs and you glanced down, feeling heat creep into your face as you realized you were straddling Harry's thigh, it seemed he didn’t fully realize you were doing it as well, his leg rubbing against…well your…area.
You squeaked as he pushed his leg up further and tipped forward, your hands reaching out and slamming next to Harry's head to catch yourself.
His eyes flashed open, red building on his cheeks as your faces were suddenly only two inches apart. “um” you looked to the side, biting your lip “s-sorry” Harry glanced down, the blush spreading to his ears as he realized what the pressure against his leg was. He laid his leg flat and let out a short laugh.
“uh…” you locked eyes again, and a strong shiver was sent down your spine as you looked into his sparkling ocean blue eyes.
You could feel an ache between your legs begin to grow as you lifted yourself back up and hovered over Harry's hips. Harry slowly sat up, stopping inches away from your face, his eyes drifting to your lips for a moment then looking back up at you. “I-“ you whispered, biting your lip as a devious idea came to mind “I have…an idea”
“oh,” Harry whispered back, leaning a bit closer, his hands sliding forward on the ground and resting on your thighs. “Wha’?”
“you know what would really disappoint my parents?” you grinned, your hands reaching up from your sides and gripping onto Harry's jacket, pulling him toward you a bit.
He grinned back, looking down at your lips again “wha’ would tha’ be?”
You leaned in, lips only an inch from his “sleeping with someone they would hate” you could almost feel the wide grin that spread on his lips.
“sounds an excellent idea~” he purred, hands flashing up to your shoulders as yours curled around his neck and pulled him into a hard kiss, teeth clashing and faces warm.
Harry's leg arched up against your butt and forced you forward again, your lips parted with a gasp as Harry leaned back with you. he wrapped his arms around your torso, pressing your chest into his and leaning down to nip at your neck “Harry” you breathed, pressing your lips together as Harry's hands drifted down to your butt and pushed it against his hips, an odd hardness pressing against the ache between your legs. You let out a low whispering moan as he ground against you, his lips smirking against your neck as you started to meet his hips in tandem.
“that’s it darling” he purred, trailing up your neck and sucking on your jaw “jus’ like tha’” you whimpered, ducking your head down and burning into Harry's neck as Harry's hips started to go harder and faster against you. You let out small gasps as your hips twitched and ground back down into Harry's, who let out small groans against your shoulder.
“hang on hang on” Harry grabbed your hips, stopping you and sitting up. One of his hands reached up to the back of your neck and pulled you back, lips crashing into yours in a bruising kiss. His hips started again, the heat between your legs almost becoming unbearable as you trust against them to get rid of the ache.
Harry nipped at your lip, smirking as you opened at his request and tilted his head to deepen the kiss. He sucked at your lip, dragging your tongue into his mouth. You sighed at the feeling, tightening your grip on his jacket as you let him just play with your tongue.
He pulled back, smirking at the trail of saliva that still connected your lips. “shall I take yeh to my apartment yer highness~ yeh should be taken in a place of privacy, not a damned rooftop.” Your hazy mind yelled at you to go with him and you nodded, yelping slightly as Harry grabbed your thighs and stood with ease, your legs locking around his waist. “I’ll take good care of yeh darling~”
-
You let out a breathless gasp as your back hit his bed, the larger teen pouncing on top of you, not waiting for you to stop bouncing, and pressed another bruising kiss to your lips.
You heard him unzip his jacket and throw it across his room, the chain across the back making a loud sound as it hit the wall. He pulled away from you for a moment to rip off his sword sheath and shirt. You felt your face burn as his pecks and abs came into sight, slowly reaching out to trail your fingers against his scars as he pulled his shirt over his head.
You felt him shiver as you brushed your knuckle over his perked nipple and gripped onto his bicep, biting your lip at the look in his eyes as he smirked down at you.
“before we start” he rasped in a low tone, making you press your thighs together to relieve the ache that pulsed “do you really want ta do this?”
“yes” you answered immediately, smiling at his question, good to know that even after you had gone this far, he still asked for consent. He smiled back and leaned down, pressing his forehead to yours, noses touching.
“Jus’ tell me ta stop, and I will” you nodded and pulled his lips down into yours, immediately opening your mouth and clashing your tongue with his.
Within seconds your jacket was taken off and Harry pushed your top up above your breasts, unclipping your bra from the back and pushing that over your breasts as well.
You pushed at his chest, Harry immediately pulling away and raising his brow, laughing slightly as you sat up and discarded your top and bra. You pulled him back into the kiss, groaning into his as his hips dipped and pressed into yours again.
He pulled away for a split moment, making you whine in objection and tug on his hair. He leaned down and whispered into your ear, lips brushing against your skin.
“I'll make sure yeh won't be able ta walk properly tomorrow~”
-
Harry started up at the ceiling, his fingers gently trailing up and down your back. Almost every inch of him ached, from the reddening hickeys on his neck, torso, and hips, the scratches on his arms, back, and torso, to the bitemark on his neck.
He looked out his window, noting it was pitch black outside. He sighed and turned his head into you, curling his other arm around you and tugging you tighter into his side, breathing in the scent of your (fav shampoo).
He didn’t know why, but from the moment he had first seen you, your curious eyes peeking from behind Jay's shoulder, he had felt something flutter within him. He wasn’t able to stop thinking about you from then on, even as he taunted Ben in the lost revenge’s brig, unable to get those hypnotic (e/c) eyes out of his head.
He couldn’t ignore the genuine happiness when he saw you again, taking down those goons with ease and confidence. He couldn’t ignore the feeling in his chest when you laughed, the intense fluttering when you smiled at him.
The way heat rushed to his cheeks when you hugged him.
The passion he felt as he looked down at your writing body as he was deep inside you.
-Alright! Yall who don’t like reading smut/stuff that hints at it are good! You may continue reading!-
He shouldn’t feel this way, not for the child of the king that had sent his father to the isle, and dooming hundreds of kids to a floating prison just for being the children of villains. He shouldn’t feel this way about the sibling of the king they had kidnapped and were holding for ransom.
He had only heard of this type of feelings from stories of the heroes of Bora-don, how they had somehow fallen in love within seconds of meeting the other. He had never understood it, calling it stupid that someone would fall in love with someone they just met.
He understood it now, the ache in his chest when he thought of you being hurt when the villains took over the world after Uma got the wand and freed them all. He only had one word to assign it to.
Love.
His grip on your waist tightened, and he buried his face in your hair. He didn’t know if he would ever see you again after today, so he would treasure the moments he had with you now.
You groaned slightly in your sleep, your hand that wasn’t trapped under his pillow reaching up and curling around his neck, pulling yourself further into his neck, your nose pushing into the dip between his shoulder and neck.
He pressed a kiss to your head and closed his eyes, huffing slightly as he realized he felt completely content by your side.
-
You grumbled as beams of light pushed through your closed eyes, you pushed off Harry's chest and glared at the window, reaching to close the curtain that half covered it, huffing as you realized you couldn’t reach it from your spot buried in Harry's side.
You stilled as Harry's arm reached past you and closed the curtain, leaving the room in calmly lit darkness. He put his hand on your head and pushed it back onto his chest, thumb gently caressing the back of your head. “morning” you rasped, tilting your head to rest your chin on Harry's pecs and smiling at the slowly awakening pirate.
“morning darling” he rasped back, his sleepy ocean blue eyes staring back at you. He slowly sat up, shifting you to sit in his lap as he shook his head to force himself to wake up. “wha’ time is it” he grumbled, raising his brow as you reached behind him for your pants, that were hanging off his bed frame, and pulled out your phone.
“8:30” you set your phone on the nightstand and flopped back into Harry's chest, tightly wrapping your arms around him. “what time is the…thing?”
“12” he hummed, pressing his cheek to your head and holding onto you “so…”
“three and a half hours” you did the math for him, pouting as he pulled you back slightly and looked into your eyes.
“Uma wanted me at the ship at nine darling…” you sighed, looking at your lap as you realized your time with the handsome pirate was almost up.
He pressed a kiss to your head and pulled his blankets around you, covering your nakedness and getting out of the bed, aware of your eyes on his butt as he walked over to his dresser.
“Please tell me it wasn’t just me” he paused as he slid his underwear over his hips and looked over at his shoulder at you, eyes widening as he saw a droplet of water appear from behind your hair and fall onto the blanket “please tell me it wasn’t just me that felt something”
He was silent for a few moments, biting his lip as his heart raced with the realization that you felt the same way he did.
He stared at you for a few moments before turning back to his dresser and opening the small box on top and pulling out a necklace.
He turned and walked towards you, giving you a soft smile as he sat in front of you and gently lifted the tread around your neck, trailing his fingers down it and holding the small charm in his fingertips.
You glanced down at it and gasped, the charm was a small metal hook with a small red gem in the middle of the bulb. “this is something I’ve had fer awhile” Harry whispered, looking back up at you and bonking his forehead into yours “Gil made it for meh a long time ago, but it…it didn’t feel right on me…but I kept it cause it felt like it had a purpose…I guess that purpose was ta be on yeh” you sniffed as your vison blurred “what I’m saying is…yes, it wasn’t jus’ you, I felt something too”
He tilted your chin up with his finger, softly smiling at you and leaning in slightly “a feeling I’ve only heard in yer Bora-don tales” you gasped slightly at that, heart going a thousand miles a minute as you realized he had felt the same way you did since you had first seen him last night in the ally “it sounds stupid” he chuckled, looking off for a moment “I never believe those tales of love at first sight or that type of shit but…” he looked back into your eyes, hand trailing from your chin to the back of your neck “I was proved wrong”
He pulled you into a sweet, soft kiss, your eyes closing as he slowly moved his lips against yours, his other hand coming up and taking your hand that wasn’t holding the blanket.
Your mind went hazy as the world around you melted away at the taste of Harry's bruised lips, giving you the softest kiss you had ever gotten from anyone.
He pulled back for a moment, pressing another soft kiss to your lips before sitting back and opening his eyes, smiling as you kept yours closed and swayed slightly “(y/n)” he whispered, realizing he had to go very soon if he wanted to make sure you got back to the core four safely, and make it to the ship on time “ye have ta go now”
You slowly opened your eyes and pouted, tilting forward and hugging Harry tightly “I know, but It's too dangerous for yeh here love, get dressed, and I’ll walk ye back to the hideout” you shook your head against his chest but obeyed after he clicked his tongue and picked one of your legs up and let it drop on the floor.
He pressed a kiss to your forehead and stood, grabbing his clothes that had been tossed around in the night and quickly getting dressed, grumbling about his belts that had somehow disappeared.
“under the bed” you snorted, laughing as Harry paused and dropped to his knees and looked under the bed, muttering some curses to himself as he pulled out the two black-brown belts and attached them to his hips.
You sighed as you ran your fingers over the purple hickeys all over your neck and torso, whistling slightly at the dark bite mark on your ribs. You mentally thanked your past self as you pulled your turtle neck over your head and smoothed it down. “yeh ready darling?” you nodded over to your shoes and picked them up, walking over to Harry's bed to put them on.
You finished lacing them up and jumped slightly as Harry's hand appeared in your vision. You looked up slightly, biting your lip as he was fully geared up, a tricorn hat on his head, and a blue headwrap hiding his fluffy back hair. He had lined his eyes thick making the blue pop. You took his head and stood, the two of you walking out of his apartment and towards the hideout.
-
You stopped just a little less than a block away from the hideout, Harry taking off his hat and holding it in front of your faces as he pressed a soft kiss to your lips “I’ll see yeh later yer highness” he whispered with a smile, he took a step back and bowed low, flipping his hat on his head as he stood.
You shared a sad smile and Harry walked away. You watched him for a moment before you called after him, he turned with a raised brow “stay safe…please” you smiled as he nodded.
“as yeh wish” he turned away and walked toward the wharf, leaving you to return to the hideout alone, the cold metal of the hook charm against your chest reminding you that you might never see him again after today.
-
You never did see him again that day, being forced to stay with the car as the others went to get Ben.
It had been a week since cotillion, and you stared at yourself in the mirror, dark bags under your eyes as the clock read 2 am.
It had been hard…hearing yourself being referred to as “she” or “her” or “the sister of king ben” when you had finally found out who you were.
After you had gotten back you had scoured the internet to look up the terms Harry had told you. Non-binary…’Non-binary people not only do not identify as the gender they were assigned at birth; they do not identify with the male or female gender at all’
You were non-binary, and it was so hard to hear yourself be misgendered after years of feeling uncomfortable being referred to as a ‘girl’ then finally figuring yourself after meeting Harry. you thought of telling the core four, but you were scared that they would ask about how you found out, and then you would have to spill the beans about Harry.
You didn’t know what it meant to be non-binary but…this was your journey right? As long as you felt it was right…it had to be the right path…right? You glanced at the scissors on the counter, then back at yourself in the mirror, frowning at your long hair that your mother had demanded that you never cut dramatically, in fear that you would be seen as a boy.
…well fuck that.
You grabbed your scissors in one hand, your hair in the other, and pulled it to the side. You closed your eyes as you held the scissors over your hair.
*snip!*
You hardly looked as you chopped off your long hair, the locks falling on your feet and bathroom floor as you did.
You took a deep breath as you set down the scissors again and quickly looked at yourself, breath-stopping as you did.
“oh” you breathed, leaning forward towards the mirror and reaching up to touch your choppy short hair “...there you are” the cut was ugly and rough but…it felt right…you smiled, running your hands through your hair.
A thought came to mind, and you ran into your room to grab a baggy button-up shirt you had stolen from Ben months ago and quickly threw it over your tank top and buttoned it up.
You took a deep breath and stepped in front of your mirror, your eyes burning as you felt like you were seeing yourself for the first time “there you are” you whispered again, reaching up and grabbing the hook charm as you closed your eyes.
Your name was (y/n), and you were non-binary.
And if that disappointed your parents? Or anyone else in Auradon? Fuck em.
If you were proud of yourself that was all that mattered.
-end of part 1-
2nd parts gonna be after d2 and into D3 with (y/n) telling Ben and the C4 about them being NB and doing things to help themselves feel more like themselves…yep :D hopefully, I did this fic right and represented those who are non-binary correctly, I used the knowledge I had and did some research to make sure I didn’t type any stupid shit.
Oh also enjoy this little sketch dump I did while writing this, it's not (y/n) exactly, but just how I envisioned the “character” if it wasn’t a blank slate “character” lol, and yes they do got a pirate look going on…that’s the point XD they take inspo for their fashion from Harry/pirates.

But Ben didn't drop the program he just forgot about it because he was busy with ruling Auradon.
Drop as in forgot about it, even he said that 'being king' was a lame excuse for pushing the program on the back burner. Especially not with how it looked to Isle kids, you hand pick the worst of us and now they're living lavish and the worst one is dating the King while we sit and rot with zero knowledge on if we'll get to be picked or not.
This is in the context of if prequel book Ben was bringing the C4 over for personal reasons, so the VK program being dropped right after that doesn't look good.
Ben did care though he was clearly passionate about the program as soon as he realized he messed up with putting it on the back burner he immediately started thinking about it again. Invited the people who had him kidnapped and tied up to come with him back to Auradon, zero punishment. When the program started up again he wanted way more than 4 kids off at one time and said no immediately when Mal said they should shut the barrier and was the only one to think about the kids and not just the safety of Auradon and looked like was near tears when he was pressured to agree.

if  i  removed  the  disney  filter  then  d2  and  d3  would  look  like
random  d2  divergences / hcs :
harry  knocked  ben  out,  gil  carried  ben  back  to  the  lost  revenge  while  harry  delivered  the  message  to  c3  for  mal  to  meet  uma  at  the  chip  shop
he  spent  the  rest  of  uma’s  night  shift  on  the  lost  revenge  tormenting  guarding  ben
the  whole  swords  and  shields  team  went  to  the  isle  to  save  ben
why?  because  the  c4  needed  the  numbers,  and  you  can’t  tell  me  that  the  s&s  team  weren’t  incredibly  close  to  ben,  and  because  the  s&s  team  were  as  desperate  as  lonnie  to  prove  their  worth  in  a  real  fight
also  lonnie  fighting  alongside  the  whole  team  in  a  real  fight  would  have  had  the  whole  team  back  her  as  captain  and  respect  her  the  same  way  that  mulan  did  with  yao,  ling,  and  chien  po,  which  is  a  cool  parallel  to  make
in  the  fight  during  it’s  going  down,  there  are  deaths  on  both  sides,  the  c4  and  the  sea3  do  not  escape  the  fight  unscathed
lonnie  and  uma  have  the  highest  body  counts  by  the  end  of  the  fight  with  2 - 2,  i  can  see  harry  skewering  one  of  the  s&s  members  before  the  auradon  side  escapes  the  docks  and  one  s&s  member  and  two  pirates  later  succumbs  to  their  wounds  after  the  fight
( which  means  the  3  doa  s&s  members  are  left  behind  on  the  isle,  their  bodies  are  not  recovered  and  the  wounded  s&s  member  dies  in  the  limo  before  they  go  through  the  barrier )
( whereas  the  2  wounded  pirates  die  during  the  cotillion  riots  or  to  infection  and  lack  of  medical  supplies )
main  reason  for  the  s&s  team  losing  more  members  than  the  pirates  in  the  initial  battle  is  that  the  pirates  have  been  fighting  real  life  or  death  battles  their  whole  lives,  they’re  going  to  be  more  brutal,  more  merciless,  and  there  will  be  no  hesitation  when  it  comes  to  making  a  killing  blow
personally,  i  like  the  concept  of  jay  and  carlos  being  responsible  for  the  2  dead  pirates  but  it  could  easily  have  been  mal  or  one  of  the  other  s&s  members.  i  can’t  see  evie  being  a  killer  so  while  she  won  her  fight  with  jonas,  i  don’t  think  she  would  have  killed him  or  anyone  else,  the  same  goes  for  ben.  he  wants  to  build  bridges,  compromise,  he  wants  there  to  be  a  future  between  uma  and  her  pirates,  and  auradon  and  i  think  he  would  believe  that  it  wouldn’t  be  impossible  if  he  killed  one  of  uma’s  pirates
uma  used  her  own  magic  to  spell  ben,  not  mal’s  book
random  d3  divergences / hc :
harry  and  the  lost  revenge  timed  how  long  the  barrier  remained  open  after  someone  used  the  auradon  remote
stealing  the  c4′s  bikes  was  planned  so  that  the  c4  would  be  forced  to  walk,  therefore  leaving  the  barrier  open  long  enough  for  harry  and  gil  to  get  through
the  initial  plan  was  to  escape  the  isle,  find  uma,  find  a  way  to  bring  the  barrier  down  but  obviously,  uma  found  them  first
harry  and  jay  actually  fought  each  other  in  the  gardens.  it  was  very  violent.
the  knight  armor  battle  was  extremely  brutal.  harry  lost  his  left  hand  during  the  fight  and  i  would  think  that  the  others  were  also  grievously  wounded  before  mal  and  uma  are  able  to  utilize  their  combined  magic  to  crush  the  armored  knights
uma  and  mal  then  heal  their  respective  friends / team  using  their  magic,  so  harry  doesn’t  lose  his  hand  permanently,  it’s  just  for  the  parallels,  the  vibes,  the  throw  away  reference  to  his  dad
harry  and  gil  agree  to  help  find  ben  only  because  uma  asks  them  to.  harry  hopes  to  have  ben  owe  him  a  favor  for  it.
harry  gets  very  annoyed  and  jealous  when  gil  and  jay  appear  to  bond / become  friendly  with  one  another
when  they  encounter  beast!ben,  jay  get’s  badly  slashed  when  he  saves  harry.  gil,  harry,  and  carlos  come  together  to  protect  jay,  who  is  too  wounded  to  move,  from  a  cursed  ben
carlos  is  the  only  one  who  manages  to  get  through  to  ben  long  enough  for  jane  to  appear  with  the  enchanted  lake  water,  weakening  the  curse  enough  for  ben  to  retain  his  mind  and  awareness  but  it  isn’t  enough  to  turn  him  back  into  a  human
with  jane’s  help  they’re  able  to  slightly  heal  jay’s  wounds  but  not  enough  for  him  to  move  on  his  own.  harry  and  gil  build  a  stretcher,  ben  carries  it,  and  they  make  their  way  back  to  evie’s  start  up  castle.  harry  thanks  jay  for  saving  him.
when  they  reach  the  castle,  mal  and  uma  are  able  to  heal  jay  completely.  they  all  go  to  flora,  fauna,  and  merryweather’s  cottage  to  find  audrey.  instead  they  find  chad.
mal  is  forced  to  come  clean  about  closing  the  barrier  forever  when  uma  brings  up  her  promise  to  free  all  the  vks
celia  still  takes  the  ember  and  tarnishes  it  with  water.  uma  and  harry  leave  for  the  isle,  intent  at  finding  a  way  to  lower  it  and  help  the  pirates  and  vks  escape
when  mal  finds  them  to  get  help,  they  reject  her  but  celia’s  capture  forces  uma  to  help  mal  while  harry  climbs  the  tower  to  get  celia  out  of  danger
once  the  scepter  is  destroyed  and  audrey  is  cursed  to  sleep,  uma,  harry,  and  celia  return  to  audrey’s  dorm  with  the  others
uma,  harry,  gil,  and  celia  return  to  the  isle.  harry  orders  the  twins  to  stay  in  auradon  with  dizzy  ( and  to  prank  the  c4  as  often  as  they  can )
2  months  go  past  before  mal  and  ben  bring  the  barrier  down,  in  that  time,  uma  was  voted  in  as  captain  once  again  and  her  and  the  lost  revenge  crew  conquered  the  entire  east  coast  of  the  isle  and  uma  has  been  hailed  the  pirate  king
in  general,  the  isle  is  split  into  districts  or  territories  which  are  led  and  governed  by  faction  and  gang  leaders.  these  leaders  come  together  to  establish  a  general  law  and  order  and  uma  becomes  the  reigning  leader  over  them  all
on  the  isle,  uma  is  recognized  as  king  ( non gendered specific ),  in  auradon  she’s  recognized  as  the  isle’s  ambassador and  senior  advisor
mal  is  not  the  queen  of  the  isle  come  on  now

Assorted thoughts after binging the first three seasons of The Magnus Archives
“So yeah horror isn’t my thing.” “This one has eldritch beings fucking with the fabric of reality.” “.................................I’m listening.”
(Fuck you for dragging me down into this pit with you, @sdwkpr. Just. Fuck you.)
(no actually ilu <3 you get me)
I am a giant sucker for eldritch monsters as all my friends can attest
I am not a trypophobe but goddamn do I understand it now jfc season 1 is, just, uhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah. yeah, that.
i’ve actually blacklisted the term because the fanart of Jane is. uh. really good. like, A+, not sleeping for three days
The Stranger is such a fucking dick. So is The Dark, possibly even more so than The Stranger.
The Spiral is also a Grade A Dick, in my opinion, but I like Helen.
(why the fuck did I like Nikola so much?? what is it the voice acting???)
Joshua Gillepsie from Episode 2 is the real unsung hero of the whole damn show, his lack of fucks given is an inspiration to us all
Gertrude Robinson is my role model and I love her and her massive stashes of C4
so many badass female characters in general
Melanie! Basira! Daisy! GEORGIE!
Sashaaaaaaaaaaaa *sobs*
I went from being all “Jonathan Sims is an asshole” at episode 1 to “i will fuCKING FIGHT EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE SO JONATHAN CAN TAKE A GODS DAMNED NAP” by the end of episode 55.
tim ;_; my son, no
MARTIN. okay admittedly it took a while for him to grow on me, but he did, he’s precious, why doesn’t he have, like, ten dogs, three bunnies, and a chinchilla as pets?
“Lost Johns’ Cave” is a severely underrated episode and scared the everloving fuck out of me
The episodes with The Slaughter are some of my favorites; like, I don’t personally find them scary, but there’s something about the atmosphere Jonny Sims evokes that just hits a part of my brain that goes “YAS. YAS GOOOOOOD. MOAR. MOAR NOW.” Also, history, super awesome A+++
Elia fucking Bouchard what the fuck could you be any less subtle about what effect Beholding powers have on you jesus keep your goddamn pants on
(Listen, all my friends can and will drag me about how Easy I am for a really sexy voice, see every one of my favorite male characters, and I think the fandom is all in agreement that Ben Meredith has a really fucking sexy voice, which makes my hatred of Elias that much stronger because Elias is suCH A FUCKING DICK.)
PETER LUKAS YOU GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM MARTIN I SWEAR TO FUCK
the lack of sexual violence in this show was. just. such a relief.
also cats yes good.
(NOTHING BAD HAPPENS TO PETS IN THIS SHOW. I HAVE BROUGHT ONE OF MY CATS WITH ME TO BED ON THE NIGHTS MY HINDBRAIN GOES “there are things in the shadows i’m scared”)
SERIOUSLY JONNY I WILL FUCKING FIGHT YOU FOR DEFILING THE SANCTITY OF THE SAFE-UNDER-THE-COVERS-FROM-THE-MONSTER RULE OF THE UNIVERSE
why is The Admiral not in every episode
hell why the fuck isn’t there an official Archives Mascot? GIVE JONATHAN SIMS A CAT
no seriously give that boy a cat. now. right now.
In conclusion: I love this fucking podcast, and binging the next ten episodes tomorrow to get up to date is going to rock. And by rock I mean probably break my heart somehow with how each of these seasons escalated in “bad things happen to my children.” Because horror.

Spa and Singapore! I’m a sucker for those tracks and would happily only watch those races till the end of time
10. Favourite driver(s) from 90s/2000s?
Controversial but David Coulthard. I do love that man even if he says some utter shit
15. Senna or Prost?
Prost!
20. What do you think about your F1 commentator(s)?
The sky commentators (Crofty and Brundle) suck ass and need to be flung into the sun. Ben Edwards and DC on C4 are an actual gift and I love them
25. The craziest thing you've ever done to express your F1 passion?
Honestly nothing, I am a mellow fan. I rock up, watch the race, talk shit online, go to bed, repeat
