jaehyun was actually your classmate in school during your trainee days

except he was pretty quiet in class and mostly kept to himself because his friends were in different classes or in different years

and plus you were always gone training and working really hard for your debut

so he never really noticed you for the longest time lol

it wasn’t until maybe three quarters through the year that he noticed you were in his class

you were so tired from a late night of practice that you walked to some random desk thinking it was yours and just fell asleep on top of it

you didn’t care that your face was a mess and that you were snoring and just plopped there and slept away

and when jaehyun walked into the class he saw that someone was in his seat and honestly didn’t have the heart to wake you up and move you

so he just sat in the desk next to his and shooed the person away because he knew someone else would probably wake you up and then he’d feel bad

while you were sleeping he snuck a look at you because he really had no idea who you were and found that............

wow........ you’re pretty cute...................

and your snores......... although loud........ they’re also kind of cute??

he’s totally not trying to be creepy but he’s still studying your face and thinking that you’re a real looker and just admiring you while he has the chance

he thinks to himself that you could totally pass for an idol and nods to himself imagining you having a bunch of pictures taken of you and all of them coming out nicely

he quickly looks away when he sees you shifting and groaning a little bit in case you woke up

but he realizes that the shifting wasn’t repositioning or waking up, you were........ shivering

and jaehyun was like well what kind of guy would i be if i let this lovely person fend for themselves in the cold

he totally didn’t want an excuse to get close to you for a little bit

but he takes his outerwear off and even though it’s probably uniform, he didn’t care since your uniform obviously wasn’t doing enough as it is

and then he carefully drapes it around your shoulders and makes sure it’s covering you enough to act as a mini blanket

and when he sees you snuggling into it after a minute or two he turns a little red

when the teacher walks in they don’t say a word about you sleeping and him being out of uniform and just start teaching and jaehyun is glad because he’d hate to be called out but also when he looks at you a second time he sees the bags under your eyes and he feels really sad all of a sudden

by the end of the day he forgets his jacket and zooms out of there because he realizes that he had somewhere to be and that he promised his pals he’d be there

and when he runs out of the classroom, he almost knocks over a desk and that noise is enough to wake you up

when you start you realize that you slept most of the day and the only notes you have are probably from being awake for only forty minutes tops and the words are all messy and you can’t read them at all

and only then do you feel a weight on your shoulders and a different but comforting smell surrounding you

when you touch your shoulders, you feel someone’s jacket

you look around but no one looks like they are the owners of the jacket and most of the class is gone anyways

but one of your classmates notices your confused face and they walk up to you and ask if you had a good nap and then they tell you that the jacket belongs to a guy named jung jaehyun

and then you’re trying to rack your brain because you can’t pin a face to the name and you’re like......... this is what i get for sleeping all the time and being gone who is this guy

but before you can ask the classmate leaves and you’re left by yourself pretty much

and when you glance at the time you’re also bolting out of your seat because oH SNAP YOU HAD PRACTICE TODAY

and when you get to the studio with your stuff you realize that you’re still holding onto the jacket and your members notice this too and are crowding around you

they keep prodding at you and asking who the jacket belongs to and if it’s your boyfriend’s and honestly it flusters you so much so you have to shoo them all away so you can get ready

and you fold the jacket up nicely and make sure there’s no wrinkles in it and no loose hairs left on it and you put it on top of your bag to keep it nice and safe

and during practice you get super distracted every now and then because you have some guy’s jacket but hey it smells really nice and it was super warm

and because you’re so distracted you can’t focus on the choreo your group is doing a cover of and they let practice let out early because the other members were also showing varying signs of fatigue still present from the week’s rigorous practice

and then so when you’re at the dorms you can’t sleep because who??? is that guy??? why did he decide to help you?????? literally no one has talked to you the entire year

you decided you’d find out the next day in class and honestly that was the first day in a while where you were fully awake and alert and you had a pretty decent amount of sleep

and you sit at the desk you sat at yesterday because honestly??? which desk did you sit at? you moved around so much and no one said a word that you had no idea which one you were initially assigned

and when the class all comes in you try looking around to see if anyone is missing a jacket but there’s?? no one out of uniform?

and you’re looking once more at this mysterious jacket in your hands because is........ is it someone from another class?? another grade???

who???

and you don’t really notice that there’s this kind of awkward guy sitting in the seat right behind you today who’s trying to get your attention but you’re nervously fretting about and it’s kind of cute he doesn’t want to bother you??

before jaehyun actually has the guts to actually say anything the teacher comes in and it’s time to be quiet and learn and honestly jaehyun doesn’t get anything done staring at the back of your head

the more he takes in your features during class, the more there’s this little voice in the back of his head telling him that there’s something oddly familiar about you

he has it on the tip of his tongue but he can’t voice why you look so ????recognizable?????

i mean he has seen you before because he’s seen you at least once at school before all this but

............ he keeps doodling on his notes about your face and it isn’t until much later that he realizes that there’s cute little doodles on at least half the paper

he also hears word of there being an exam the following day and he realizes that class is over and crap he didn’t take any notes but that’s okay he’ll borrow from someone and he does really well in the classes

but he sees you and is like............... they haven’t been in class for a long time and sleep a lot right???? do they even know what lesson we’re on??

and just as you’re about to leave for the break, jaehyun is tapping on your shoulder and that’s when he finally sees your fully awake self up close and he’s in.......... he’s in awe

and he gets so flustered he just points to his jacket and is like that’s-that’s mine.......

and instead of turning red or anything too you just smile super brightly at him and he swears that a million stars just blinded him by that radiant show

when you thank him and hand him his jacket back, which you saw that he had a spare and why didn’t you think of that before his name tag is also on this jacket duh, you brush hands with his and you’re like......... soft..

and you move to leave again after thanking him a second time but jaehyun stops you once more and now is nervously glancing around and hopping on the balls of his feet

so you have to calm him down by patting his shoulder and just telling him to say whatever he wanted to

so he offers to tutor you or help you study for the test the next day and when you just give him a confused look he’s like

i mEAN YOU’rE alWAys gONE so LIke??? u WANt hElp OR nO?

and you’re like........... i’m??? good???

and jaehyun gets even more confused because ???!?!?!?!you’ve missed out pretty much the majority of the year already?????

and then you basically grab his hand and lead him out into the hall and he’s a red mess because you’re holding hands with him

he doesn’t even know your name why are you holding his hand oh wow it’s soft asldkmgfjg

but you guys stop in front of this bulletin board and you point to your name and you’re like ...there

??huh??

that’s me, that’s my name

and he gets confused like you took him all the way out into the hall to show him your name??

and then that’s when he realizes....... oh............. that’s............. that’s the honor roll

you’re pretty high up there too

but he also realizes that............... oh you’re that trainee that his friends are talking about...... you’ll debut soon under that one big company wow no wonder you looked so picture perfect and oH his friend showed him a picture of you and it was a teaser photo and wooow

and when you ask him if he’s okay he just breathes loudly and you’re laughing all of a sudden??

and it’s such a cute noise that jaehyun is even more flustered now because you’re beautiful and smart and your voice is like velvet klsgjdkfnjdkfn

and jaehyun hears small screeching noises and sees his group of friends running down the hall in the both of your direction

and unconsciously, he just...... protects you by stepping in front of you

and his friends notice this and slow down and give the two of you a lot of room and you’re just peering around him because who are these guys and why is one of them panting like he ran seven flights

but they’re all throwing questions at him about you and he gets so dizzy and you feel kind of bad for him so you grab his hand and make a mad dash for it

but not before calling out “sorry, we’re on a date right now so please leave us be for the break!”
