sigma could have been such an interesting character if theyd more delved into his role making the ambidex project and the conviction mindset needed for that and and how his young -> old -> young iterations of himself feel about facing each other

sigma displays some of the most compassion of any ze character over the course of vlr and he's the guy who set it up but there's like little room for him to dwell on that with the pacing of the ending of vlr and the back to back reveals and ztd just like. there Isn't conflict and he's.. he acts different than vlr but in a way that he's just like. calmer and more serious more or less imo

when akane offscreen and in implication must deal with the horror of discovering she is the mastermind thats been tormenting the players of 999 she reckons with the fact that is a person she will grow into of her own volition. she will end up holding that conviction herself she Is zero, zero is her future. she'll end up a person who decided to do all of that herself

sigma isnt the same because sigma really is not zero. its just a title for him its still akane with all the driving will and planning, he is just executing her plans. sigmas role is to do what someone else told him. and she tells him to do something thats theoretically fundamentally against his rather strong sense of morality, to an end that does align with it. but it still must have had to shift significantly. it is not a plan on his own conviction and it is not an even plan between equals because akane always has her own agenda and she lies to him about it. but apparently she does it convincingly enough that sigma keeps a conviction that wasn't his own, one to follow instructions for a goal he's been given and accepted without much of his own thought in the moment we see him agree to it, for Forty Five Years

He had pushed the boy away in a panicked hurry before the mist laying around their feet finally took action. Fog swirled around his body, lifting him from the ground and entering his eyes, ears, mouth, and wounds he had sustained before his Shadow took over. He struggled for a brief moment, groaning as disgusting mist matter entered his body before he fell silent and moved erratically.

The boy fell backwards, down the mound of debris he just climbed to reach the man. He dropped the can of tomato juice he held in his hand, and as his body hit the ground, the stray metal framework stabbed the can through, gorily dripping its thick, red liquid.

Although the Shadow itself harbored no ill will, the influence of this wicked fog gathered a mass of rogue Shadows that merged straight into his body, similar to the monstrous sight the boy had seen happen to Namatame-san.

The body's movements became still as its limbs fell, like a puppet cut from its strings. Ironic, that he's has become the devil's puppet himself, and his limbs raised in a similar manner.

Its eyes opened to reveal his two toned eyes of blue and purple, something oh so familiar to the young man.

"I... am Ame-no-Sagiri," it answered through a distorted voice of a good friend. "One who rules the fog. One awakened by man's desires."

Disgusted. Sickened. Repulsed. Nothing could explain the stomach-churning, teeth grinding sensation this boy felt.

"You..." It was behind this. "You're..." It hurt his friends. "Are you..." The one who started this game.

The ground shook from underneath him. He fell to the floor that splashed a thick, pungent liquid he knew all too well.

The station flooded from its drains. The tomato juice flowed with the oil that continued to erupt from the floor. The tremors did not stop until the ground fractured and cracked and separated from the earth itself.

The vertigo inducing motions of the floor beginning to float could have made Souji feel a little motion sick, but he was already lightheaded and saw nothing but red, the demon using his friend's body for its despicable game.

"Souji!" "Senpai!" "Sensei! Are you okay!?" his friends cried from other floating debris.

does anyone else find the extended zodiac stupid? not the concept of it, but how it works. the fact that each caste has 24 symbols based on aspect and lunar sway and that castes have "true" aspects or sways just goes against everything that homestuck had established.

first off, true signs. each caste has an associated aspect and lunar sway that coincides with the twelve beta trolls (e.g prospit/blood for lime caste, derse/void for indigo, etcetera). does this mean that there is something special about these specific signs; some twelve cornerstone trolls, pioneers of the caste sign system? this implies that the beta trolls just so happened to be the representative trolls of the entire species (which yes, they ended up being, not because of their signs but because of the circumstances of sgrub), which further suggests that the caste system is not bullshit and isnt entirely based upon oppression which is like. WHAT?? the ENTIRETY of hivebent supported the idea that the alternian caste system was created to exploit the gifted lowbloods and keep highblood nobles and seadwellers in power!! but hiveswap comes and models every troll after their equivalent blood color troll in homestuck, which makes every bronzeblood related to animals, every purpleblood a clown, and the wordt one being that every goldblood is a powerful psiioniic which is STUPID because psiioniics are meant to be a rare mutation special to goldbloods but wgatever! make em all laser blasting gamers cus who gives a shit!!!! just make em all batteries why not!!!!!!!! ANYWAYS. true signs also imply that every caste has a special, deeprooted connection to a sburb aspect and moon? why? it just implies that every troll has some sort of quality about them because of their blood color! does a purpleblood HAVE to be connected in some way to rage and prospit?

perhaps true signs are simply a matter of perspective. the beta trolls all left an imprint on the human universe with the constellations, and calling them "true signs" is 1. because they line up with the traditional zodiac, and 2. because the trolls presented in homestuck are those signs. that still doesnt fully explain this little tidbit, but whatever.

one other mystery is how the signs are assigned? excuse me if i missed anything explained in homestuck/hiveswap, but how does a troll get a specific sign? are they just assigned based off a categorization system? do the signs define what your role as a troll is to alternian society? true sagittarius is given the title of "Sign of The Engineer", but taurus is "Sign of The Unfledged"? what is "The Unfledged"? it's clearly based off of tavros, as he was never able to spread his wings, so does every other taurus troll considered "unfledged"? this brings up another question, would two trolls of the same sign be generally similar? how many leo trolls out there live in caves with their lusii, making ship art? or facist bootlicking hipster aquariuses, desperately seeking a relationship with the heiress?

or maybe, just maybe, the extended zodiac is just bullshit. nothing to be taken seriously; empirical propaganda designed to put trolls into molds. an in-universe system, just like castes or quadrants. thats what i want to go with now that i think about it. the aspects and sways were replacements for other troll concepts our human minds cant comprehend, and there's no real purpose behind the extended zodiac. thats probably what it is. in-universe, of course.

ive hyperfixated on the noise twice, not pizza tower, specifically the noise. pizza tower is a great game and all but to me the significance of the game is the fact that the noise is in it, it was love at first sight and hes been my highest comfort character since. i know that technically im definitely not the "biggest" noise fan but no, i am his number 1 fan nobody loves and appreciates him as much as i do. i need to kiss him.
