FTH 2024 Creator Signups are OPEN!

The moment you've been waiting for has arrived! But before you rush straight to the signup form, note that a few things are different from last year:

You will not be able to edit your signup immediately, but you will be able to edit it. We're changing some things on the back end so that we can get posts up faster, but that means that when you get your email confirming your signup it won't have an edit link. Once we've processed your signup (which may take several days), we will send you a link to make edits. Please do NOT fill the signup form out again in order to edit a previous entry! Wait to hear from us.

Typesetting is now an option under Fan Labor. Remember that we only allow digital goods in the main auction - we'll be opening signups soon for the Craft Bazaar if you want to offer bookbinding or other physical crafts.

All Marvel-related fandoms are now under the Marvel top-level fandom (instead of MCU) and all DC-related are under DC. This includes comics. This allows us to stop worrying about, for example, whether Deadpool or Venom is MCU or what "DC Extended Universe" does and doesn't include.

Six of Crows and Shadow and Bone are both covered by the new Grishaverse fandom tag, House of the Dragon is part of ASOIAF/GOT, and 9-1-1 Lone Star is grouped with 9-1-1.

You can view this year's full list of fandoms here - remember that if the fandom you want isn't listed, there is a write-in option. However, check all possible names for your fandom before resorting to write-in! If your fandom is a spinoff, choose the fandom it's related to and specify in your auction notes which parts of canon/the universe you're willing to create for. Every fandom with subfandoms also has an "Any" option if you're willing to create for anything within the top-level fandom and an "Other" option to write in subfandoms.

Even if you've signed up before, please re-read the FAQ to re-familiarize yourself with our policies. If you're new to FTH, check out these tips for first-time creators (and also read the FAQ). It might also help to peruse last year's listings to get an idea for what kind of information people include and how we use the information you give us to form our tagging system.

Remember that you can offer up to three auctions, but you will need to fill out a separate signup for each of those. Each auction can only be for one type of fanwork, but can be offered in up to 3 fandoms (and unlimited subfandoms if you choose a fandom with subfandoms) or "Any fandom." Your bidder will get to choose from any of the fandoms in the listing, so please don't offer something you don't want to create just to get more eyes on your auction.

what resources do you use to learn khmer, if I may ask? I want to get my fluency back after English overwrote it in public school 😔

(also this our art blog , is feel more comfortable / recommend asking stuff over on our personal main @yomcloud ! is also recommend go on that blog n go on "kh writing" tag for other khmer stuff ! we also do lot casual khmer writing in "system stuff" tag )

augh man our big sis faced same thing . she used to be fluent but then lost it all when go to school .

being last in family , we never were fluent or able speak it , just able listen and understand roughly as parents speak very frequently . but besides our big sis , think we only one in family who did have some kind interest

and even in extended family , we know so so much extended family fluent Only in speaking but know nothing about how read or write (feel sad about that )

so sadly , we not really many good resources , like books (one n only book we have is , not great !) or sites as there so few resources available compare to other languages or even southeast asian languages . is remember that our big sis said that there was practically NONE at all when she try learn again several years ago , but now theres some apps , books , youtubes , etc . , though still very few

we also not really able give many as we have learn best from listening to parents talk , watching random khmer videos , and writing what we hear (we not able speak because semiverbal unable speak 95% of time or so )

personally is feel this youtube channel is best one found so far that teaches . made by native speaker and echoes true to how our parents speak it . gives more detail on things and way ppl actually speak

we use these two dictionaries though they not perfect : [1] [2] (1st one is easier use and have more stuff and can copy text , 2nd one is little harder to use , but can give more on word if not show up in 1st one , not able copy text) neither have "speak word" , but google translate robot voice usually very accurate

This site shared by another khmer american we met ! it looks very very good , but wasnt able use much as seem not always load , but hope it has better time with you

online khmer keyboard is recommend start use online / on screen keyboard and try learn desktop keyboard / get language keyboard installed on mobile stuff (apple comes with just need go language setting , our android doesnt so we use app call "phum keyboard" , it janky but works)

keyboard can be hard learn cuz it different across devices , but generally how remember is that letter sound is in same place and in rough latin equivalent place , shift is to change from Series A and B

but tbh , that Honestly really it , we dont really have or know much and most of what we know is just from parent speak and just learning script so know how write what they say down and use that to know how say other things

but here some personal tips from us ! (also is want remind that this more about written language than speaking since not able speak much)

1. learn khmer script and how works soon as possible and drop latin transliteration as soon as possible . khmer works in specific way that makes Much Easier if know script . lot of time you wouldnt know what word is what with just transliteration alone since it can be written many way . not help that transliteration not regulated and lot words can be transliterated in like , 5 ways 😭

2. From experience , it often resources made by non-khmer ppl tend be Very Very Wrong or poorly transliterated or badly explained . is often find there lot of issues in them and harder learn from them compare to stuff made by khmer ppl or native speakers .

3. dont be afraid make mistakes !! when we grow up learning language as children we always misspell or write wrong , this no different and it part of learning

4. Look things up directly with khmer language script instead of using english ! youll find so much more and is often how we find and watch random khmer videos , things like cooking and music .

5. incorporate khmer writing into things you do frequently and enjoy ! for example , we honestly learned best from just writing khmer casually on our art . we learn a lot from drawing (and since you like writing , you could make things like characters talking to each other little bit in khmer or try describe things in khmer !)

here some stuff weve done !

allowing language just be part of life and things like and enjoy instead of "this is specific important thing need treat different separate and need be school like learn" doesnt work for us . we sometime just draw write it , talk to ourself in it , be silly with it !

like if draw bird , write "bird" . if draw cat , write "cat" , and other stuff

write a bunch , speak a bunch whenever possible

6. heres more resource stuff we personally made (take with little bit of grain of salt , but feels work best and true to us and feel accurate as of now )

this is alphabet order and mix of pretty much everything weve seen , then use one that remember sound best to us ("ô /oh" also sometimes written as "er" , "â/au" also sometime written as "or" , but sound made is same and to us sound more similar to "au and oh" so that what most helps , khmer isnt tonal )

and here is thing we made to group them next to their series equivalent ! imo , remembering what consonant is part of what series and what vowel sound change to is hardest part of learning , (also sub consonants so that why always include ) so making this helped ton ! (we havent made updated vowel guide , man )

New image shows how the B-52 will look after engine and radar replacement

A new image of Boeing shows how the B-52H will look after a series of modifications that the U.S. Air Force said were significant enough to justify the renaming of the aircraft as B-52J or K.

The image was rendered from a digital prototyping model system, so it is likely to be very close to the final version.

The image highlights the largest diameter F130 turbofan engines to be built by Rolls-Royce North America. Also noteworthy is how the engine springs, each containing two engines, are placed higher and further ahead than the Pratt & Whitney TF-33 engines with which the B-52 has been flying since 1962, in part to provide more distance from the ground. The need to validate how the new engines/aveles will behave in relation to the wing and flaps system is an important part of the flight test program scheduled to start in the next two years.

The nose of the aircraft will also be simplified, losing the bubbles that currently house the infrared/electro-optical viewing system to facilitate the new radar, a variant of the AN/APG-79 used in the Boeing F/A-18E/F SuperHornet. The FLIR/EO system was used to avoid terrain and battle evaluation, but some of these functions will migrate to the radar or have already changed to a Litening or Sniper aiming pod, which the B-52 can carry on a hanger on the wing.

In addition to the engines and radar, the B-52 is receiving an updated cockpit, a "hybrid" analog-digital motor control system, communication and navigation improvements and the exclusion of a crew station.

Two large ravens at the top of the fuselage, close to the roots of the wings, also stand out in the images. A Boeing spokesman said that the crows “are not new and are not part of our program”, but they look bigger than any fairings or bubbles now in that area, which house GPS and other communication/navigation equipment. Pressed, the Boeing spokesman said: "I have nothing for you about it", a phrase that sometimes indicates a confidential issue. The location and size of the corcovas may suggest a larger and anti-incrat GPS antenna.

New engines were the main reason why the B-52G became the B-52H in 1962, said in August to Colonel Louise Ruscetta, senior material leader of the B-52. But given that the combined engine/radar program represents “the biggest modification in history” of the B-52, a new designation is likely, Ruscetta said. There may be a provisional designation because the radar will be installed before the engines and will lead to a change in manuals and operating and maintenance documentation. The documents will be changed again as soon as the engines are replaced. The Air Force and the Air Force Global Attack Command are analyzing "how we define" the new variant or variants, Ruscetta said.

The new radar is a type of active electronic scanning matrix, used by fighters. It will take up much less space than the old mechanically scanned system, so the change will create space for electronic warfare functions, Ruscetta said. At least part of the B-52 fleet will be operational with new radars and new engines by the end of the decade.

a month has come and gone and the streets of valparaíso waste not time in adorning the streets with colorful lights, an array of ornaments, and a christmas tree large enough to see for miles. the chill in the air dies down, and that bright summer sun feels like a warm embrace whether your use to the december heat or not. there's holiday specials on the menu at inesperados that spread a variety of cultures and celebrations, and festive drinks to dry at little leaves tea house. and the festivities are only getting started! in the door of every resident is a request for participation in this year's secret santa gift exchange. every year santa moneda welcomes its residents of all races, cultures, and religions to take part in a secret santa-esque gift exchange. the tradition is less about celebrating christmas itself, and more about celebrating and acknowledging one another. no matter what brought you all here, you've wound up in the same place and santa moneda management thinks that's worthy of celebrating. Summary:

The Santa Moneda Secret Santa is a gift exchange that will happen amongst the residents of Santa Moneda should they decided to participate. Residents will have from December 1st, 2023 to December 14th at 11PM CST to fill out their wishlist and submit it to management in order to participate. You then have Noche Buena celebration on the 24th of December at 11PM CST to exchange gifts with the person you pulled. There will be no re-pulling and no requests for specific residents. The pulling will be done at random. If for any reason you need to pull out, don't hesitate to inform Santa Moneda management as soon as possible.

This is our very first official event, but it is still completely optional ! We have a lot more fesitivies over @santaupdateshq if you'd like to sit this one out ! If you are participating though here are some things you should note:

Please make sure you fill out this google form if you wish to participate. If you don't fill out this form the admins will assume you're not participating and your character won't be receiving a secret santa.

For those with multiple muses, you are welcome to have more than one or all of your muses participate but please be note that if we don't have enough muses to delegate out we may have only one of your muses able to participate.

If you are participating it is mandatory that you thread out the gift exchange. You'll be allowed to post said thread at any time from December 15th until December 28th at 11PM CST. It doesn't have to be at the Noche Buena dinner and exchange, but it does have to be on the dash. Ideally, we ask that you keep your person a secret up until the gift exchange. Meaning, the secret santa is responsible for dropping a surprise starter to facilitate the gift exchange !

With this verse, Opal is used to the finer things in life simply for upkeep, name-brand clothing, manicured nails, and simple but expensive jewelry. She is something to show off, a glorified housekeeper, entertainment, and a sexual object. This life has made her very unhappy so she turns heavily to alcohol and drugs to numb herself. Since her Master doesn’t care much once her daily duties are taken care of she tends to sneak out to bars or to party. With this verse, Opal tends to meet people through her sneaking out or through her Master’s grand parties to show off.

With this verse, your muse may be Opal’s Master by purchasing her from a previous Master. She can be traded for money, favors, belongings, or whatever her previous Master was willing to negotiate with. Being a pre-existing Jembax she’s not as valuable as a custom-made Jembax, but her considerable appeal is how trained and educated she is. Her biggest downside is that she has been a Jembax for many years and had many cruel Masters before your muse and is quite depressed and may even go through withdrawal due to her previous lifestyle.
