“You don’t have to do this.” Kenta looked at Way. He’d sensed the moment they set foot in parking lot the tension between all of them. Way had looked pained but determined to be here with him and Pete. He knew that Way wanted to say his piece. He’d let Babe punch and scream at him without giving his side. Which he was owed no matter what anyone else said. The friendship wasn’t completely ruined and he knew that Way had never wanted to hurt Babe the way Tony wanted him to. Not that Babe had any idea the magnitude of danger he was in if Way ever had decided to fulfill Tony’s desires.

“Oh yes he does.” Babe snarled as Charlie gripped his arm to get him to stay at his side. “I don’t have to do anything.” Way shot back. There might have been fear two weeks ago but now there was anger. He may have been planted in the beginning but nothing ever happened. All the times that Tony was nagging him to do more be different he just remained who he authentically was. Did he use his gift to manipulate Babe into calming down or steering him away from others? At times yes, because the real fear had been what if Tony lost faith and sent others? Tony didn’t let them mingle amongst each other.

I am *this* close to unblocking the Pit Babe tag just so I can reblog GIFs of Kenta x Pete.

They have known each other since they were kids! THEY WERE CHILDREN! Blue x Red. Best buddies. They grew up together, but Kenta turned darker while Pete remained his light in such a dark world.

Then, they kissed.

But Pete left.

And Kenta was all alone in the dark!

The blue makes sense now.

IT MAKES SENSE!

So that's why Pete knew Kenta was there watching him.

Alan climbs Jeff's walls by never stopping, by never being pushed away, by always being willing to keep trying and to keep on being there for him and to love him through his struggles and love him until he loves himself, to list all his faults like they're the most beautiful thing he's ever seen and when he lands on the inside of the walls there's no way out not that he'd want one.

Charlie lets Babe open the door to his walls, stays there until Babe lets him each time because he knows Babe desperately wants to let him, to be cared for and loved and tender and soft and so he remains patient and he stays there and loves him and promises to keep loving him and offers him the chance to love again and again.

Pete stares at Way and Kenta's walls and waits, patiently, kindly, softly, offering them the chance to open up but never pushing or forcing, just giving them the choice, letting them know he's there and that he will always be available no matter what they might think or how far away he might be.

North and Sonic tore each other's walls down ages ago, danced in the rubble together and somehow still didn't realize that waltzing together over the rocks they had torn down together meant that they might love each other more than they were willing to admit.

It’s how the kids “raised” by Tony are all affected differently as adults.

Babe, who believes his life is only worthwhile because of his special senses and skills. Who pretends to not need love but is longing for it. Who thinks that he cannot be loved because he is unworthy of love.

Charlie, who believes his life is worth less than other people’s and would rather sacrifice himself than see others suffer. Who thinks he shouldn’t be loved because it will put the people who love him in danger.

Jeff, who believes his life threatens anyone who knows his abilities, so he keeps everyone at an arm’s length away. Who thinks he cannot be loved because it will only lead to hurt and frustration.

Pete, who managed to escape Tony’s grip, but is still entangled in his web. Who saved himself and is now desperate to help others do the same. Who hasn’t given love a chance because he’s still only relying on himself.

Way, who believes he can force love if he tries hard enough. Who never considers life beyond Tony’s influence because he doesn’t think such a future is possible. Who is desperate for love but doesn’t realize that he is already loved and surrounded by a family of his own.

Kenta, who believes that if he does everything Tony asks of him, he will be loved. Who doesn’t understand that a man like Tony does not love but only uses. Who has lived in exile for so long that he’s lost sight of love and only knows loyalty.

It’s how they are all survivors and how they learn through the course of the show what love is and what it isn’t. And that they are capable and deserving of love despite what they were taught as children.

Pit Babe Men's Superpower summary (td):

Babe: he is a special Alpha with super senses and telekinesis power

Jeff: he is a special Omega and he has the power of premonitions by touching people

Way: he is an Alpha Enigma, he has the power to subjugate an Alpha to Omega and to manipulate people with hypnosis

Pete: he is one of Tony's older "children", he is an Alpha Enigma too (same power as Way and maybe the reason he didn't shake his hand immediately during the meeting was this one), he is a mind reader, he has a son: Martin

Kenta: he looks handsome in every black outfit available on the market, he doesn't have any power (in the novel vers.) so he should be a Beta, Tony decided to keep him despite him not having any power and for this reason he is extremely loyal to him...

Charlie: he is a special Alpha who can absorb the power of others by touching them, he has also the power to calm down people with his touch

Kenta was moving closer as he stared at Pete. Pete turned his head, moved into Kenta, kissed him, and liked it. Then Kenta backed away, got up, and walked away.

PETE kissed Kenta.

PETE liked it.

KENTA left him.

And now Pete just lets Kenta push him against the wall and on the floor. He doesn't even try to overpower Kenta. Is it because Kenta rejected him before?! Is this why he was looking at his lips here?

What was the pink for with Way if you've been in love with Kenta?!

The end of Pit Babe is coming and I already miss what we found is this vroom vroom omegaverse show, all the found family and all the love, all the trauma and all the healing, all the wishes and all their dreams, the way they want to be loved no matter what and the way they love no matter what, the way Alan adopted everyone who crossed his doorstep (except Jeff who got a very different answer) and how Babe just wants to be loved despite his prickly nature, the way Charlie fought for Babe's love and the way Alan climbed Jeff's walls, the way North and Sonic created chaos with heart and try to help out, Pete's very specific taste in men, Way learning how Not To Be An Incel and Kenta's absolute betrayal by their fuckhead of an adoptive 'father', there will be so much to miss and I cannot believe that this all started with everyone exploding over the fact that it really was alpha4alpha omegaverse.

(And, yes, I'm going to miss Mama and Papa as sexy nicknames.)

You should be watching Pit Babe! - A Brief Review

Saddens me to think how many people are missing out on a great show because they think it’s not worth more than a trash watch, if that.

I mean, realistically, is it the most amazing cinematic work of all time? No, not unless pretty-boy power bottoms with daddy issues are your thing, which in my case they are, so let's talk about Pit Babe!

Note: I've tried to keep the spoilers to a minimum, they're mainly in the tags and links so follow them at your own risk, you've been warned.

Honestly, Pit Babe is a pretty damn good show, especially if you A) pretend the Omegaverse factor doesn’t exist and take the show for what it is and B) you don't mind not knowing what's going on half the time, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Overall, Pit Babe has got a good production value, a slightly absurd yet entertaining plot, a great choice of cast with amazing chemistry and pretty decent acting skills amongst the mix of seasoned actors and newbies.

For a totally biased fair and balanced review: There are some details that are left vague instead of being explained in depth or at all (yet), but that’s to be expected when you adapt a novel into a movie or series. It would get boring for the audience if the pace was interrupted to explain all those little details that we’re likely to find out along the way anyways (shout out to those who've watched the latest episode; finally!).

There are also some scenes that feel like they’re not as necessary and some background/plot devices that made a little more sense in the novel but I personally don’t feel like they detract too much from my viewing experience.

Babe (played by Pavel) and Charlie (played by Pooh) as the main leads do a really good job at shouldering a large percentage of screen time. Charlie comes across as happy-go-lucky, a bit clumsy/goofy, entirely fearless and a little naive, which is mostly true, but there's clearly more to him than that. Right from the start Babe is clearly someone guarded, detirmined and skilled at what he does (racing cars and having sex) and he has a very tight cirlce of people he trusts. There's a winning combo right there, quite tsundere/sunshine from the outside but definitely more breath the surface that gets exploded as they go.

Way (played by Nut) is Babe's best friend and racing companion, they've been racing together at Team X-Hunter for years but there's clearly more than friendship on the mind for Way, though the feelings appear to be one sided.

Alan (played by Sailub) is the owner of Team X-Hunter and an all-round cool Uncle (which the whole team call's him (despite barely being in his mid 30's). He's kind but firm, he cares for his team like they’re his family and it does seem as though they’re his only family.

And the rest of the cast consists primarily of:

Team X-Hunter:

Dean (played by Lee); a junior racer with slight douche vibes

North and Sonic (played by Michael and TopTen); everyone’s babies, they’re junior racers and content creators

Jeff (played by Pon); the newest member of the team, he’s a part time mechanic and full time conspicuous

Pete (played by Ping); the money guy Alan brings on board to sponsor the team

Team Red Racing (the rival team):

Winner (played by Pop); the guy who never seems to win against Babe

Kim (played by Benz); the new racer they hired to beat Babe

Tony (played by S Vorarit); Red Racing's newest benefactor and *shock horror* Babe's former foster father (try saying that ten times fast)

Kenta (played by Garfield); Tony's right hand man

Then, there’s the 🌶🔥🤯

I, personally, enjoy a little spice/heat in my shows. It’s not necessary for every show, of course, but I do think that when it serves a purpose to the story and it’s done well then it can be quite enjoyable and this cast/production team is doing it really well.

As I said, the chemistry between the cast really is amazing (both on and off the screen, if you're interested in that kind of thing) and although the spicy scenes aren’t nearly as abundant as they are in the novel, there are some really good ones. I decided to bite the bullet and binge read the novel over the past couple of weeks, I blame @pharawee’s breakdown posts for those sleepless nights, and it was worth it for me but not necessary for watching the series.

Lastly (as if this post isn't long winded enough as it is) there are a handful of things in this series that we don't see too often in BL's and make it worth watching even more:

It's got race cars, murder attempts, mafia influence and supernatural powers (at least half the characters have one).

There's no evil ex-lover out to get revenge or get back together with one of the mains (thank the BL gods).

It's got a Soft Top/Dominant Bottom dynamic where the title character is both super masc and a pretty princess.

And we can't forget, it is technically an Omegaverse series (or rather, it's Omegaverse-lite) which none of us saw coming!

Anywho, to conclude; yes, you should be watching Pit Babe. No, you don't have to read the novel to understand what's going on because none of us understand what the hell is going on at any given time. Charlie and Babe are fucking around and finding out, the rest of us are just long for the ride, Alan and Jeff are having a whole ass rom-com-drama in the corner, the babies are making their content and having a blast and the others aren't quite on the map yet (or are they? *wink, wink*), but I sure hope they will be soon!
