"-really don't know how to work it," Remus' voice plays, the beginning of his sentence cut off. The camera shakes mildly.

"We need a new SD card, it corrupted our 'movie' from last Friday." Your voice is hard to make out, much quieter than his.

Remus clears his throat off camera. "I might have had a hand in that." 

The frame is pointed at you directly. You're in the centre, far enough to see the entire height of your figure, in your work uniform — from your new job, rather than the one he'd grown used to seeing — and you're smiling at him in the way you do, like he's everything. Eyes bright, incredibly, untouchably happy.

"Why?" you groan. Despite your indignation, your smile sticks around. 

"Well, I-" 

"I already told you, you sounded hot." 

Remus appears to the left of the frame, checking that the camera's in a stable position where he's perched it. When you look back at this recording, you'll note his pinked cheeks, how flustered he looks at your praise and insinuation.

"Come and stand with me!" you demand.

Your voice is quieter with the distance and the roaring of water. Behind you, around fifty feet across, is a waterfall. It's no Niagara Falls, but a waterfall the same, the wet spray cooling the air and dampening your hair. 

You and Remus are on a love-heavy mission to make your first year together special. Or, that's what he's decided in his head. You'll do anything he asks if he says it sweetly enough (within reason), so here you are, in the middle of summer after you've both worked ten hour shifts, two hours from home in his awful car that isn't fit to drive anywhere at all these days. You haven't complained once, not in the whole two months you've been officially together. 

Remus' figure grows smaller in frame until he's joining you at the railing. You put your hand on his cheek and lean up for a kiss. You say something too quiet to hear, and then you both turn your backs to the camera and watch the water, hands joined. 

The film rolls like that for minutes. You could be speaking, or you could be totally silent. Likely you're talking about something, because suddenly you start shouting, nonsense sounds eaten up by the waterfall. 

"It's so cold!" you yell. 

You turn to Remus. 

Remus gives in and starts shouting too. "It's freezing!" 

"And it's summer! And my new boss keeps giving me overtime I didn't ask for!" 

"Her boss is ruining my life!" 

Your shoulders shake with laughter. "I never get to see my boyfriend and it sucks because he conditioned me into having the world's highest libido!" 

You both laugh wildly at your screaming declaration.

The giggles peter off. "I love you!" Remus shouts, rough voice scratchy with his high volume. 

"I love you too!" 

Remus tugs your arm until your hips touch. You huddle into his side and rest your cheek against his shoulder. He responds in turn, head dropping to meet yours while his hand rubs a quick, loving path up and down your arm to warm you up in the face of the cold that emanates from the waterfall. In a few minutes you'll admit defeat and drive home, warm up together in a shower you don't bother filming. For now, you hug Remus' side, the two of you shivering and ridiculously happy, tiny, and loved-up in the eye of the camcorder.

Roadtrip to the waterfalls! These two beauties are connected by a 40 meter long, narrow, almost completely filled with water, tunnel. Which we of course had to swim through. Probably one of my riskiest things I ever did in my life. I'm glad my mom wasn't around to witness this (love you, mom 😘)
