what's your color headcanons for cinderpelt and longtail?

Cinderpelt

Blue tortie! She has three red siblings, and most importantly a red sister, so I had to choose between tortie Cinderpelt or tortie Brightheart. I chose Cinderpelt, because I like the paralell of the smoldering ashes imagery of her name vs the grey-orange tortie coloration.

In my head she has little cream on her, maybe even less then the cat above.

This makes Frostfur genetically tortoiseshell too, and since she isn't full white for me (she doesn't have white parents nor kits, it's easier this way), I chose a very light color: blue tortie tabby point with white.

Longtail

I have to admit Longtail isn't included in my family tree (yet); he just doesn't have any canon family up to point I've read the books. However I like the tabby point mini that came out recently, so I'll probably keep that. (And the wiki says he's also Robinwing's child, like Frostfur, which means I already put the allele in the family.)

In your time travel fic snowflight is mated with tawnypelt does snowflight have different parents because in canon snowflight and goldenflower are brother and sister (speckeltail ks both their mom)

So, short version.

Yes, Snow's parents are still Speckletail and Smallear, so he IS Tawny's half uncle - but really, it's rather impossible to avoid incest in Warriors.

At least they're not siblings. (Right ERINS? *stares at Willowpelt and Patchpelt*)

And yes, Tigerheart was born to Tawnypelt in AVoA along with Dawn and Flame. Except his fur is now white and is named Ferretkit this time.

(Snow has a dominant white gene that was passed on to Tiger. If you have any questions on cat genetics I highly recommend @alollinglaughingcat - she hand-wrote a packet on the basics for me.)

i felt like there weren't enough visual guides of cat genetics so i went ahead and made some simple ones, my main references were Sparrow's Garden the website, Sparrow's Garden the blog, Messybeast, and The Little Carnivore.

Please only use these for general reference and not for tracing, using as a base, or reposting!! You can trace the poses for practice, but please don't post them if you do so. Please don't use them as a free Base, either.

So I haven’t gotten the chance to restart this blog…but update! Here are some features I’m planning on.

Bases for different allegiances, similar to the Warriors Wiki!

I won’t be putting down the phenotypes anymore, but I will be giving a realistic description for the genetically accurate cats.

I’m trying to find a new drawing software, so graphics may look different.

I’m also going to make an account for my rewrite once this is started! It’ll function similar to a Wiki for characters.

I will keep a more organized color and pattern archive for my rewrite, also with bases! One for each possible coat type and a kitten base.

I look forward to restarting this blog and seeing everyone again! I also know SIGNIFICANTLY more than I did when I started, so there should be less errors.

This isn’t a warriors-related post but I know there’s a fair few cat genetic experts in the house who could explain to me the possibility chance of this color.

So… this picture isn’t edited. Mimosa, one of my cats, is ORANGE AS HELL. From what I understand, a female red (ticked?) tabby is relatively uncommon. Is this type of red/ginger also pretty uncommon? I can’t find an identical picture of another random bred cat be this red, with very very very little striping (legs and face only).

I know her mom was a dilute tortoiseshell. And I tthiiiinkkk this means her dad had to be a similarly orange cat? Idk. Tell me everything you know about orange cats and genetic color expression.

Oh, Crowfeather! His description, especially in the earlier books, constantly fluctuates between black and dark gray, so I very early on decided that Crowfeather will be black smoke to me. His fur is quite short, so usually the overall effect is something like this:

His ghost pattern is spotted, but you rarely see it, mostly just when he stretches out in the sun. He got the silver allele from Ashfoot and passed it to Lionblaze, along with the spotted allele, which then in the next generation gave Spotfur her name.

(Sorry, I know Breezepelt has a family too, but i'm not there in the books yet.)

so otterkit and ivyleaf look suspiciously alike. same pelt color, pelt pattern, eye color, even the same trait. the only difference is that otterkit's fur is long and ivyleaf's is short. also, otterkit's non-clan parent is apparently a tom. just saying.
