So, I looked stuff up for Cheng Yi's character in Fox Spirit Matchmaker. This is SUCH a Cheng Yi role:

Aliases: The Name That Shook Heaven and Earth and The Human Weapon

He was trained for 16 hours every day in the Daoist martial arts using the deadly Wangquan Blade since he was a young boy.

And

He was trained to kill mercilessly and taught that Spirits were barbaric monsters that only wished humanity ill. His family treated him more like a weapon or tool and he was left in isolation only allowed outside of his home when he was being sent to kill Spirits.

And

he became the undisputed strongest Daoist...feared throughout the Spirit world as a mercilessly powerful executioner. However, being forced to train and stay within his family estate since he was young, he began longing for freedom, wishing to travel and see the outside world.

And

Qingtong would use her spider silk thread to create silk murals of the outside world he was forbidden to see. His heart softened, and he swore not to kill Spirits anymore. He began to show mercy to those he was instructed to kill by his family. Angry that he had not done as instructed when he showed mercy to a Spirit, his father...had him whipped and hung up on a tree for three days as a punishment. Qingtong visited and comforted him showing him more images of the outside world.

And

Qingtong was eventually caught and exposed...[His father] ordered Fugui to slay Qingtong, but Fugui refused, stuck his ... [blade] in the floor and walked out of the house carrying the wounded Qingtong. He was attacked by Daoists as he tried to leave, and he sheltered her body from their blades until he could no longer move.

Perfect weapon yearning for freedom who develops feelings for the enemy and gets way tortured for it. At this point it's safe to assume that Love and Redemption was Cheng Yi's audition reel.

I was going through the manhua and in the credit of chapter 100, the author was contemplating how every time Wangquan Fugui appeared, he had to draw him with all his heart because if he doesn't pay attention and doesn't draw Fugui handsome enough, he would get the fans wrath 🤣🤣🤣

Now I know why Fugui is so damn handsome in the series lmao

And I think manhua wang fugui is much more handsome and similar to his past life too, ad compared to the other donghua wang fugui.

The Reincarnation System:

♥︎Must have mutual true love between them

♥︎The Couple must make the love oath under the Plight Tree with the human partner saying “I am willing” or “I will” at the end

♥︎The Yaoguai must sacrifice a certain percentage of their powers that ranges from 40% to 100% & part of their memories that are spent with their human lover when doing the vows

♥︎Needs to spilt a magic key that belongs to them into two halves, one half will go with the human together with the percentage power of the Yaoguai to the next life

♥︎Than their love story and anything related to them will be recorded into the Fox Spirits's Matchmaker Sealed Book that will help the Fox Spirits Matchmakers find the pledge lovers and reunite them together in the current life

♥︎Fox Spirits Matchmakers will help the couples of Human x Yaogaui to be reunited again in the next life using various matchmakers's tools like the memory hammers that can return the memories of the past life to them

♥︎The Plight Tree system is flawed and not perfect since it will only offer a chance and it is not guarantee that the couple will be reunited again and be together in the next life

♥︎The Yaoguai can give up reuniting with their human lover in the current life by signing the non-destined life document and wait agian for their next life

♥︎The same soul cannot make the love oath again until the last one is completed first

♥︎A law has been established that stated that the next life of the humans cannot be forced to recover their memories of their past life but only by their own free will

♥︎When the reunion between the Couple is successful, the lost percentage power of the Yaoguai will be returned to them from their human partner & the magic key that was used for the pledge of love between them will be combined & once again completed into one piece

Episode 89 marks the end of NanGuo arc, presumably the longest arc in Fox Spirit Matchmaker by far. The story of the Southern princess has finally came to an end. The next arc is ZhuYe arc, beginning in Winter 2018, about WangQuan FuGui’s parents, 東方淮竹 (DongFang HuaiZhu) and 王權霸業 (WangQuan BaYe). This arc will be the first arc involving a story between two humans, thus the first arc without the involvement of grievance tree and reincarnation. It gives more insight towards YueChu & FuGui’s past connections, DongFang YueChu’s mother is revealed, and a bittersweet tragic story (as usual).
