man i’m so enjoying the sims 4 werewolf pack but with every single occult that gets added i get sadder and sadder at just how dirty mermaids got done by ea. i can’t emphasize enough how much i would kill for them to do a pack refresh of island living and add in all the things that mermaids are lacking such as:

unique tombstones - literally every single other occult has unique tombstones including the robots

a unique bassinet - again all the other occults have them, aliens, spellcasters, vampires and werewolves. don’t have anything.

unique interactions with other occults - with the later occult types to come out they really did add in more occult interactions especially vampires. werewolves so far have done a wonderful job adding to the lore of interactions between vampires, spellcasters and werewolves but mermaids have one again been left out

a mermaid power tree - so far the occults that have a power/skill tree are: vampires, spellcasters, werewolves and celebrities. mermaids have no such thing, but in this they have it in common with aliens. however aliens have much more depth to them than mermaids, it’s not by a ridiculous amount but it is significant.

more customization to allow visible mermaid traits in human form - perhaps this is a personal opinion but it bothers me just how minor being a mermaid is that if you don’t go out of your way with mods you can’t tell if a sim is a mermaid until they’re in the water. in the sims 3 mermaids had scaled legs in human form, if there were perhaps visible scales scattered over the body like a tattoo or something just that would help them stand out more. (also would give them an excuse to add more freckle options, perhaps body freckles?)

anyways i love mermaids sm but man do i rarely play w them bc they are basically just regular sims unless they use a bath rather than a shower

greek god legacy challenge

hi loves. i’ve spent so much time trying to find a legacy challenge that interests me, and i stumbled upon this one on the forums. however, i decided to put my own spin on this theme, and create my own goals and rules. use the hashtag #greek god legacy challenge so i can see your gameplays!!

also, feel free to bend the rules to your liking. if you don’t have a pack i mention, you can bend that rule, or you do have a pack that i don’t have that you think would fit, you can add that in however you’d like.

gens/rules down below or in this doc

overall rules:

- you may only use free real estate cheats when you first start

- you can only move onto the next generation when you’ve completed all of the goals

- i recommend setting your life span to normal or long

- you can use any gender for any generation!

- you don’t have to actually name them the god’s name if you don’t want to. be creative!

- try to use their assigned colors in some way (clothes, hair, skin, house, etc!)

GENERATION ONE: ZEUS

god of the sky, king of the gods - white

you have had a rough childhood. your father was abusive towards you and your mother, which resulted in your mother taking you and fleeing town. the two of you settled down the snowy mountains in mt. komebri. she became very over protective of you, rarely letting you out and about in case your father ever found you.

traits: non-committal, ambitious, charismatic

career: politician (politician branch)

thinkin' that a daytime lighting overhaul is next up on the list of sunblind edits

^ this is what it looks like at 12pm w/ sunblind currently and it's perfectly fine for some worlds (sulani/oasis springs/strangervile, etc) but it just looks really off in others

^ this is closer to what i'm going for, i think the shadows could stand to be a lil more saturated though. also it's way too bright in the winter time with snow. like. sunblind is already too bright with snow and that's an edit i have to make no matter what 🤔 i'm thinking about just making winter days much darker for worlds that can get snow which sucks a little but....dang winter is literally blinding at the moment

this is what 12pm looks like with a much darker day + snow which isn't too bad!! it's just really hard to commit to a change like this because it's so time consuming to update but 😔 that's just how it is
