This time I choked on a cookie, what do you know.
So I'm not exactly high cultured on the Batman/Dc lore, heard stuff through the grapevine and the occasional clip watch so if I make any assumed mistakes feel free to correct me.
So in short, instead of biologically connecting Danny to Bruce or any other Batkids.
Why not the Joker?
It doesn't even have to be close, something like a faraway cousin.
The crazies are obviously there in Jack and Maddie- Even if it is dedicated to science.
I don't know enough to make an actual connection that may work, but it's what the cookie says.
Hmmmm. Ok so like Joker before he became criminally insane or after? I’m takin a fat guess for after.
I know that Joker has had children in the comics. He had two perfectly normal kids when he sorta mentally hid himself in his own brain and adopted the name Joseph Kurr after Batman ‘died’. He was a normal man with a normal life, normal job, normal wife, and I’m pretty sure two kids. He turns back into Joker the second he finds out that Batman is back and all that, but it shows that he can indeed have two kids unaffected by his chemical alterations.
(Oh also the idea that the vat of stuff that joker fell in was actually pure ectoplasm and stuff to that degree of purity made him gain an obsession but no core is p cool. The obsession obvs being Batman.)
I haven’t read The Three Jokers comic (nor do I want to. The entire point of the joker is that he is unknown and doesn’t have an in depth backstory and that ruins it for me.) so I’m unsure any past connection he could possibly have with Jack or Maddie besides…

Wait.
You know what Joker is a master of that absolutely isn’t talked about enough in comics?
Chemistry.
The Joker is a fucking genius at chemistry. Dude makes his own Joker Gas, various joker bombs, and other forms of chemical warfare that he repeatedly uses on Batman and the citizens of Gotham City.
If you really wanna fuck with the plot and everything, maybe Joker was an anonymous endorser for the Fentons who are trying to figure out the chemical composition and possible artificial replication of ectoplasm.
Joker helps them in their studies and even comes by to assist on their research. One day he has a request: Raise his child. He knew that Maddie and Jack wanted another kid but we’re too afraid of the possible repercussions of a fetus absorbing harmful ectoplasm radiation in utero.
The Joker’s request wasn’t out of kindness. It was out of mania and a well thought out plan to prank this couple for all their hard work.
He injected the child (is it actually Joker’s? Is it just a kid he stole? Honestly you can choose cause both are pretty to par with how he acts) with the Fenton’s first batch of synthesized ectoplasm. It was a failure but still had some odd qualities that were akin to the undead goo. This sludge would later be known as Joker Venom.
This child will grow up and become his ‘son’. Insane and filled with a green tinged madness that couldn’t be controlled that those who afflicted would fully embrace their madness. (Ey yo this could actually be pretty sick for Dan.)
The child that Maddie and Jack agreed to take in and raise as their own had a corrupted madness hidden inside his heart. Any experience of great grief would cause this madness to spread through his entire being and change him forever.

As time allows, I'll work through the Edit pile, scanning artwork as necessary. As trays open, I feed the machine from its stack. I have the trays set to open when the rip is complete. If the tags are imperfect, (all I care about at this point is that I can identify the CD later) I'll still rip the disc without messing with the tags, but I'll toss the CD on an "Edit" pile for later processing. I'll briefly check the tags before starting each rip. I quickly learn which type of defects each computer can tolerate and stack the CD's by the target machine after a brief visual inspection. When I'm in ripping mode I lash up as many computers as possible, even laptops, and build a network of rippers. I'm not fond of using laptops as rippers because they are a little slower and don't tolerate damage very well, but if the CD's are in good condition I'll throw it in the mix of computers. I have an old W95 machine that will read CD's that cause real CD players to struggle. The idea that TEAC drives are somehow vastly superior at reading cds than any other drive is dubious at best as well. The software is free, but agillis sells his devices for profit, and he never shills just the software in here, it's always the hardware. (and I have no financial ties to Vortexbox or related companies.just a very satisfied user.) The next suggestion is to try windows 8.1 for your music listening. I think you maybe surprised just how much better this actually does sound V's a small mac mini or nuc build. You are much better starting with an itx or MATX setup which doesn't use on board dc conversion.įor less than the cost of the linear power supply you are looking at you could purchase/build an optimised ITX, powered music server, powered by a very stable (minimal ripple ATX silent seasonic PS or similar) Linear power will help, but you are still converting voltages on the main board. Can I suggest you move away from the mac mini PC solution which uses onboard DC conversion.

Mmm, alright, had to wrap my head for this one.
Mentor Dr Fate for Danny- But not in person, that's the twist
Danny can talk to Nabu when he's sleeping. He goes to sleep and appears in the mental space that exists inside the Helmet of Fate.
Make it better by having Clockwork and Fate be like old pals that haven't talked in a looooong while.
The dream connection can start happening after the whole Nocturn fiasco, if you need the context as to why it happens.
I just feel like it would be hilarious if Fate is this "all serious" around everyone and then he's alone with Danny and it's a complete flip in personality.
Because of course he's gonna get attached to the kid he can keep talking to when he's all alone in the helmet when no one is wearing it.
Even funnier if you give Fate separation anxiety in relation to Danny of all people.
Oh man, this is such a unique idea I love it.
My piece I wish to throw in: so like Dr. Fate is like ~5,500 years old. That is more than just a handful of lifetimes. He has absolutely gained some form of relationship with Clockwork, whether it be a co-worker or good friend, that is yours to choose.
Nabu is an extremely... Distant. He's not really human anymore and more a divine being who's reached Beyond mortal life. He keeps his hosts hostage via possession and doesn't treat them well. He's a Lord of Order. He cares not for humans but instead cares to maintain the balance between Order and Chaos. He is very much so like Clockwork in sense of mystery and power.
With that note: Having Nabu get convinced by Clockwork to help this boy and slowly goes from his grandeur/high and mighty state to a kind and protective mentor is some good shit.
My proposal is Kent Nelson has more influence on Nabu's thought process when the two are asleep. Kent adopts a more fatherly tone towards Danny. Nabu believes that this approach would be the most effective to keep The Balance and so he goes along with it. Yeah jokes on him, he now actually is starting to feel paternal towards this kid. Fuck guess he'll kill everyone and anyone for this Ghost Kid now.
Giving Fate some mild separation anxiety for Danny would be so interesting to work with. Fate hasn't felt anything towards anyone in millennia and now that he IS feeling, all of these emotions that normally would be average to most people is a lot. Each tiny thought of hope, fear, joy, anything. All of them feels overwhelming and like a punch to the gut each time. He hasn't felt in so long that the almost untraceable feeling of sadness and grief of leaving a friend feels all-consuming to him.
Time to teach this ethereal helmet that's forcefully possessing this kind old man some morality!! lets gooooo

Just got the sudden idea when chocking on my coffee, as one usually does.
Deadman being some sort of uncle figure to Danny.
Not jumping to metting a big group like the Justice League immediately.
Just Boston wandering around, be it in Amity due to the rumours of it being haunted, or in some other random city where Danny is due to any sort of reason.
And then there's this kid who can see him? Of course he probably wouldn't waste the opportunity.
Deadman could be invisible to even Fenton tech since he isn't made of ectoplasm like the ghosts the weapons and trackers are built to work on- That could amplify the time he and Danny spend together.
He just follows Danny around and the two can communicate just fine, perfect company.
Picture Deadman just floating on the side, cheering for Phantom as he's beating Skulker to the ground again.
I may have other ideas but I think I've written enough.
I dunno I just don't see as many DeadMan and Danny interactions as I thought I'd see
RIP your lungs Homie choking on coffee hURTS. I really know absolutely nothing about DeadMan as a character personality wise so I can’t add much to this but Danny having a (somewhat) sane ghost uncle could lead to some beautiful shenanigans.
