vanishing landscapes these pictures show the church of St. Martinus (built 1906 – 1907) in the former village of Borschemich. the whole place fell victim to the Garzweiler opencast mine, everything you see here no longer exists and has become part of a giant hole located in the far west of Germany. 1 _ view of the interior of St. Martinus church on the day of its last service on november 23, 2014. 2 _ picture of the remains of Borschemich on february 21, 2016 with the still standing church tower, the nave had already been demolished at this point, the tower followed 3 days later. former village borschemich, germany // 11-2014 /// 02-2016 © 2014 & 2016 waidwund-photo
