Seeing the autistic hc for Gonta feels really bad and wrong to me, mostly cause he is so infantalised by the game and Fandom.

In my opinion it is kinda ableist, he isn't a bad character just how he is treated is bad if he is. If he is treated like everyone else than it's fine, but if he's overly babied and treated like a pet it feels wrong.

In my autistic pov I read Kokichi as more autistic than Gonta, and the way he's treated feels more realistic. Like yeah most of the cast wouldn't really understand immediately that someone who acts so "normal" is autistic and dislike him by proxy because he shows traits of autism.

More specifically: no one really meets him half way(especially Kaito tbh) like they attempt to go all the way with Gonta, the way they treat Gonta however feels patronizing. While they treat Kokichi poorly it feels more like my own experience growing up and having no one around me know I was autistic and thus leading to group isolation and at times people disliking me because I was acting differently from them and being quick to see the flaws in something and point them out relentlessly until I was listened to.

Kokichi's thought process to me made a lot of sense and I understood where he was coming from than the likes of say Gonta or Kaito, he made sense in my autistic perspective.

And tbh what kind of person is most likely to study everyone in trails enough to predict what they'd say enough to make responses in a script for someone to pretend to be them? Like that doesn't sound very neurotypical to me.

Tldr: I think that hcing Gonta as autistic is ableist since he is treated like a pet or baby while hcing Kokichi as autistic makes more sense and doesn't feel ableist.
