Too shocked to learn from a Singaporean friend that another dear friend, @theresenecioortega passed away 2 years ago. Therese is a UPIS and UP Diliman (zoology) alumna. She was based in Hong Kong for many years, serving as Director of Communications for Marriott, Grand Hyatt and other companies across East and Southeast Asia. We used to see each other every time I represent UP during the annual Hong Kong Education Fair. Other times, she visits me in UP, and she always loved having her pictures taken inside the old UPIS compound along Katipunan, and what used to be the Institute of Biology across UP Diliman's Sampaguita Residence Hall. Therese was a Baguio Earthquake survivor in 1990. She was trapped under the rubbles of Hyatt Terraces Hotel. Yet she survived. And she touched many lives .
